  1. Here is the same point about the draftr being like 2013 made by Breer.
  2. I was checking out some of his work about the upcoming draft and he made an interesting observation about the draft class. He said that there is a lot of depth in the class, but it is a bad year to have a top 10 pick. It reminds me of the 2013 draft where the top 10 was a disaster. Jets also had two picks that year, Milliner and Sheldon Richardson. I remember two interior lineman went top 10 (who busted) and only one first round QB (EJ Manuel). Interesting observation and comparison. Here is hoping we find some good players.
  3. I agree with you, but they did replace him with Matt Cavanaugh (Mark Sanchez's old QB coach).
  4. Joe Douglas did sign two wide receivers in the off-season, drafted another one in the second round and restructured your contract of anither WR to remain the team. That suggests to me that Joe Douglas was not counting on Mims during the offseason. Hoping he develops perhaps, but certainly not penciling him in as starter.
  5. He might have made it only for one day and then gets put on IR. Players have to be on the 53 to be put on IR and eligible to return in the season. Expect at least a few players to fall in this category (e.g., J. Davis).
  6. I guess practice is closed to media today? No updates beyond the coach's presser.
  7. Interesting that you only see tweets involving Wilson or White passes. I wonder if Morgan gets so few reps that it doesn't get mentioned or he is basically #3 (or 4 with Johnson).
  8. Here is a throwback. This is an observation from Connor Hughes about Darnold in his rookie year (Connor really liked him). Note that Cimini has a comment below that puts the throw into context, something we don't always get with these "great throw" tweets from other teams.
  9. This is an interesting tidbit from Connor Hughes: "After an impressive stretch of organized team activities and minicamp practices, along with a nice start to training camp, Wilson has struggled some in recent days, and there might be a reason for that. Those early practices were all scripted. The Jets went over in meetings every play they would run, then went out on the field and repped it. Wilson knew what was coming, so he could go prepare his mind before taking the field. The Jets started live drills on the seventh day of training camp, meaning Wilson found out what play was coming when offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur radioed it into his head. The young quarterback looks much more like a young quarterback in these periods. That was the case Saturday, too. The Jets ran through two scripted series before they began their scrimmage. Wilson completed all four of his pass attempts, highlighted by a long gainer to Ryan Griffin."
  10. This is where the jets will really feel the tragic loss of Greg Knapp. He was the experienced voice in the room for the offense and more importantly the rookie QB. Hopefully the staff is able to help Zach understand the issues and develop. That is what these early practices and camp are all about right now for Zach.
  11. Thought this was interesting as Trey Lance has been doing well in SF camp, albeit mostly with the second team.
  12. Doesn't that help the switch from a 3-4 linebacker to a 4-3 one? I would think it may have been by design.
  13. I don't really know this too much, but isn't that something that the byu sports flash people posted and he is just reposting? Either way, I agree that it is peculiar to comment on negotiations in social media.
  14. The agents have this leverage as well as the fact that the first public practice is approaching. It will be ugly for the jets if Wilson is not there. Edit: missed your post where you highlighted this.
  15. It is disappointing that he is not at camp today. Yes, he will sign eventually, but this is just bad practice from all sides (the jets have a history of this with first round picks).
  16. Zach's agents hold the cards a bit, since the jets have no alternative plan for a starting QB and have put all their eggs on Wilson starting. They need him there for every rep. The agents know this. Still, what a silly thing to argue over with the guy you made #2 pick on the draft and supposedly future of your franchise that you have all the confidence in.
  17. No updates yet, I guess. Let's hope he signs before training camp starts.
  18. AVT had no mask in his picture, so you are likely correct.
  19. I thought all these rookie deals were guaranteed. The tweet from NFL folks highlighted how he got 3 years of guaranteed money in the 4 year contract.
