  1. Yup. As bad as I want a tackle, we have the worst group of pass catchers in the league....gotta protect Sam AND give him someone to throw to. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  2. They factor in how much money you spend on FA as well as who you lost/what they signed for.... So Fant alone is worth more than Robbie....factor in the other linemen we signed and minus the role players we lost and its probably a wash I'd guess Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  3. If im Chicago I sign Cam and have Nick Foles as insurance incase of injury. Im actually surprised the Bears weren't in on Brady...they have a solid team outside of a terrible QB, someone like Brady or a healthy Cam could get them back into the playoffs. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  4. Did we? Money wise I cant think of anyone we lost that signed for decent money....maybe I'm drawing a blank? Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  5. Pretty disappointed we weren't able to bring him back on a short term, reasonable price like he got from Carolina. Also how are we going to get a comp pick for losing Robbie? Isn't it based on FA lost and FA signed? We gave that questionable Tackle from Seattle (Fant?) more money than Robbie signed for alone. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  6. Deep threats and pass rushers....guys the Jets hardly ever have, and when we do it's for a short time period. Oh well, if he leaves then I wish him the best of luck....he's a good receiver with a lot of talent. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  7. See I remember one of the networks televising the draft (ESPN or NFLN, cant remember which one) talking about QW like he had great potential to pass rush, and even used Reggie White as a comparison in some sort of fashion. Obviously White was a DE not a DT, but they said something like they had some similar traits or something like that. I don't watch CFL, but when I saw the 3 or 4 highlights and the analysts comments after we selected him I was pumped. Hopefully year 2 is much better than year 1, but so far I haven't seen QW show any type of special ability to get to the QB. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  8. Cotchery is easily one of my all time favorite Jets Great, reliable hands, excellent footwork, tough and decent blocker for his size Some memorable plays.... The TD in the 06 WC game in NE where he went like 75 yards...he took a hit but landed on a DB I think, got up and kept going 2009 WC vs Cinncy he made some nice catches, including a side line catch that Marvin Lewis challenge and lost The play in OT vs the Browns in 2010 in a 3rd down...pulled a groin yet still made a diving catch for a 1st down 2010 Divisional game in NE, right after Pats scored to make it like 14-11 I think, and momentum going their way, Cotch had a long run after the catch play to set up a TD to Holmes...huge, key play I wanna say he made a ridiculous diving catch against the Pats on that Thursday night game in 2008 in NE...big game we won in OT with Favre This is just going off the top of my head, but he was a great Jet and I appreciate how he always seemed to give 110% Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  9. Let's trade our current WR coach and former Steeler Hines Ward to Pittsburgh for Cotchery....WR coach for WR coach Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  10. Dont forget the Houston game.....that was a great final drive....deep pass to Braylon down the right sidelines, then a beautiful lob to Holmes in the back left corner of the EZ for 6 and the win! Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  11. I miss having a playmaker like a Leon Washington or a Brad Smith (the latter more so for special teams)....someone electric. Robby Anderson is the closest (and only) thing to a guy that can break a big play currently I really miss having a speed demon pass rusher like Jon Abraham too.....we need someone to wreak some havoc on opposing QBs! 12. I watched some of yesterday's games, all of the NY/TB game, and will watch at least some of the next game......that's way more than I watched of the AAFL or whatever it was called. Instead of McGloin i wish we had Cardale Jones at QB because he's more fun to watch, but NY has a very good Defense so far, which I also enjoy watching. We'll see how viewership goes as the season progresses.... but I anticipate following the league at least casually. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

  14. He's the greatest, holds every team record I believe! Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  15. I looked it up and found this on another message board... "A team will have to notify the officials before they attempt an onside kick. At that point it will look more like a traditional kickoff. The kicking team and return team will be 10 yards apart and the kicking team will get a 5-yard run up. Normal rules apply. Ball has to go 10 yards or touched by return team first before kickers can recover." I would of liked to see them just try out the onside kick that the pro bowl implemented where the kicking time gets the ball on like their own 25 or so and has a 4th and 15 to convert, or then other team gets the ball where the play ends at....seems more probable for a conversion but we'll see how it goes. 16. So far I watched probably 50% of the first game, and missed just about all of the 2nd game because I didn't realize it was on till it was too late.....but I enjoyed it overall. I have a question....does anyone know how the do inside kicks with the way their kick offs are set up? I like how they kick off but it basically eliminates any chance of an onside kick, so just curious how they go about that? Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  17. Yeah Levy isnt bad....but you liked Eisen? He kept mixing up players names and was kind of boring/amateurish to me Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

  19. I think you have to give Gase at least this upcoming season to see what he can do with Sam and the offense. Continuity is important. People have used Kyle Shanahan as an example of having poor W/L records his first couple of seasons in SF before this year, and while I think Shanahan is a better coach than Gase, even he still needed time to get the right personal into place to win games. Let's see what Gase can do with an offensive line and Darnold having a second year in the same offense before we burn him at the stakes. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  20. Yes, when it came to player personal, drafting was much better under Mangini I also agree. Rex was a better coach IMO, taking that 09 team with Sanchez instead of Favre, missing his most explosive offensive player and defensive players from the year prior in Leon Washington and Kris Jenkins to season ending injuries. If we could of had Rex coaching with Mangini being in charge of player personal we would of really had something. The worst part is if Favre stays with the Jets for Rex's first season, we are very likely to be SB champions. Look how far we got with a very limited rookie QB....look at the year Favre had in Minnesota that year as well. Obviously with different coaching and player personal in NY as oppose to Minnesota I would not expect Favre to put up the same type of numbers, but he definitely would of been a huge upgrade over rookie Sanchez. With as close as we were to getting to the SB, that upgrade could of easily made all the difference. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  21. Idzik was the one who wanted Sanchez to play in the 4th qtr of that preseason Giants game, not Rex. I remember clearly reading that when it happened. https://www.nj.com/jets/2013/09/jets_general_manager_john_idzik_on_mark_sanchez_playing_behind_backups_vs_giants_it_was_not_a_mistak.html "Idzik previously said the Jets wanted to get a complete look at Smith and Sanchez in the Giants game, and that’s why Sanchez played. Idzik said coach Rex Ryan was carrying out the organization’s plan to get that thorough assessment when he put Sanchez on the field." Rex was carrying out the organization's plan....i.e. Idzik's plan....Rex saw plenty of Sanchez prior to that game, Idzik was the one pushing for more playing time to assess who would start week 1 that year. 22. After the opening kick off of the 3rd quarter in the Indy game, it was only a 1 point game...when Manning and other starters were benched sometime in the 3rd quarter it was a 1 score game. Not saying we would of beat the 14-0 Colts if they didn't sit guys, but we definitely had a chance when starters came out half way through the 3rd quarter. As for Cinncy in week 17, they could of played their starters all game, we were gonna kick their ass regardless that night, and showed we were the better team the following week on the road against them too. 23. You can base a players worth just off counting statistics Revis had way less counting stats than a great deal of corners but his impact was so much greater than guys with more INTs, etc Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  24. Favorite All Time - Chrebet, with Rex Ryan right behind him Others: Richie Anderson Mo Lewis Ray Mickens Victor Green John Abraham Jerricho Cotchery David Harris Antonio Cromartie Darrelle Revis Coles Leon Washington Probably forgetting some, this off the top of my head and I'm 37 Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
