  1. We are going to install a spread offense, Franklin is a better fit because he is more athletic. Ipuati is a power run-blocker. Franklin is also graded [according to Pro Football Focus] as a better Guard than Iupati. https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2014/12/25/2015-free-agents-guards/ 1. Orlando Franklin [Rating 12] 2. Mike Iupati [11.2] 3. Clint Boiling [5.8] 4. Ronald Leary [5] 5. Joe Reltz [4.6]
  2. I would argue that Wilkerson is doing about 85% of what Watt does on the field. Granted he was not fully healthy this year, when he is, always rated one of the best defensive lineman in football according to pro football focus. It could be a stretch and perhaps he never plays out to that contract, however due to his talent, age, and charitable work off the field I say pay the man! Obviously I could see a 6 year deal for 65 million to be more ideal and lets hope that happens.
  3. Re-Structure: WR Percy Harvin [3 yrs. 21 mil] Release: TE Jeff Cumberland [1.9 mil] OLB Calvin Pace [2.5 mil] DE Jason Babin [1.5 mil] RB Chris Johnson [3.5 mil] Re-Sign: DT Damon Harrison [4 yrs. 20 mil] LB David Harris [3 yrs. 10 mil] DL Leger Douzable [2 yrs. 3 mil] S Jaiqawn Jarrett [2 yrs. 3 mil] Extend: DL Mo Wilkerson [6 yrs. 85 mil] Free-Agency: OG Orlando Franklin [4 yrs. 24 mil] LB Sam Acho [3 yrs. 9 mil] CB Brandon Flowers [2 yrs. 8 mil] RB Chris Spiller [2 yrs. 6 mil] CB Buster Skrine [2 yrs. 4 mil] QB Brian Hoyer [1 yrs. 3 mil] Draft: 1. OLB Shane Ray 2. WR Dorial Green-Beckham 3. QB Garret Grayson 4. FS Chris Hackett Notes: Former Cardinal Acho follows Bowles to New York. Jets go with Franklin who is a better pass-protector at guard now that they employ a spread attack, Gaily sign also alludes to CJ Spiller pickup. Adding Shane Ray to our defensive front would just create more issues for any quarterback trying to get comfortable in the pocket. Flowers and Skrine give us some much needed veteran credibility and experience at the corner position. Dorial Green-Beckham is a headache off the field, but worth the risk in round 2 as he has Dez Bryant physical ability. As for the QB competition, let the best man win.
  4. Strategy Change roster to implement 4-3 Defense. Clean house. Add QB of the future. Restructure OT D'Brickashaw Ferguson WR Percy Harvin Release RB Chris Johnson TE Jeff Cumberland Re-Sign LB David Harris [4 yrs. 16 mil] RB Bilal Powell [3 yrs. 8 mil] FS Jaiqawn Jarrett [2 yrs. 4 mil] Trade DL Mo Wilkerson to Eagles for 1st and 3rd round picks Free-Agents DT Ndamukong Suh [6 yrs. 100 mil] OG Mike Iupati [5 yrs. 45 mil] DE Brian Orakpo [3 yrs. 18 mil] CB Buster Skrine [2 yrs. 6 mil] QB Shaun hill [1 yrs. 4 mil] DL Leger Douzable [1 yrs. 2 mil] Draft 1. QB Jameis Winston 1. CB Trae Waynes 2. WR Dorial Green-Beckham 3. OLB Zach Hodges 3. OT Corey Robinson 4. DE Corey Crawford [Comp. pick acquired from D. Harrison depart FA] 5. RB Josh Robinson 6. QB Sean Mannion [Comp. pick acquired from K. Ellis depart FA] 6. CB Damian Swann 7. MLB AJ Tarpley Depth Chart QB - Smith, Hill, Winston, Mannion RB - Ivory, Powell, Richardson, Robinson FB - Bohanon WR - Decker, Harvin, Kerley, Green-Beckham, Evans, Enunwa, Hakim TE - Amaro, Sudfield, Pantale OT - Ferguson, Breno, Robinson OG - Iupati, Aboushi, Winters, Dozier C - Mangold, Freeman DE - Orakpo, Coples, Babin, Enemkpali, Crawford DT - Suh, Richardson, Barnes, Douzable OLB - Davis, Hodges, Pace, Reilly MLB - Harris, Tarpley CB - Milliner, Skrine, Waynes, McDougle, M. Williams, Walls, Swann S - Pryor, Jarrett, Allen, Miles Notes: This would be depth chart for training camp. Open competition for the QB and CB position. Do not hand over Winston starting job, make him earn it. Draft another QB to keep pressure on him. DO NOT spend huge $$ for corner in FA but rather sign reliable FA and draft two more, with Milliner and McDougle returning from injury and Marcus Williams establishing himself as an NFL corner we now would have 5 solid cover corners. Take a chance on the incredibly talented but troubled Green-Beckham, have him be groomed under Decker and gives us flexibility on Percy Harvin. With Suh and Richardson destroying the interior, Coples and Orakpo could wreak havoc on QBs giving us one of the best front 7s in all of football. If Winston shows he can come in and start right away great, if not have him sit, mature, and learn from the bench.
  5. I love Harrison but lets be honest he is not the same type of player as Vince Wilfork or Ngata for that matter > 4 years 24 mil Harris is on the decline and 5mil per year is a fine deal for him. You are right on Iupati so change deal > 5 years 50 mil Tamba Hali has knee issues and is 31, he won't get more than 6 mil per year. Hoyer will want a multi year deal with incentives, but he won't get one. Saw Olumi there is walterfootball mock, tore his ACL they said he would fall in draft.
  6. Strategy: Focus on own making own players happy first, bring in young talent, while also adding good veteran leadership. Spend wisely, think team first. Restructure: OT D'Brickashaw Ferguson WR Percy Harvin TE Jeff Cumberland Release: RB Chris Johnson Re-Sign: DT Damon Harrison [4 yrs. 16 mil] LB David Harris [3 yrs. 15 mil] RB Bilal Powel [3 yrs. 9 mil] WR Greg Salas [1 yr. 900k.] FS Jaiqawn Jarret [1 yr. 900k] Extend: DL Mo Wilkerson [6 yrs. 75 mil] Free-Agency: OG Mike Iupati [5 yrs. 30 mil] OLB Tamba Hali [3 yrs. 15 mil] - expected to be released by Chiefs CB Buster Skrine [2 yrs. 9 mil] QB Brian Hoyer [1 yr. 3 mil] Draft: 1. WR Amari Cooper 2. QB Brett Hundley 3. CB Ifo Ekpre-Olomu 4. OL [best available] 5. CB [best available] 6. RB [best available] 7. QB [best available]
