Before you jump all over me, I've moved on from Sam mentally also. I don't WANT to bring him back. But with this o-line? They'll just ruin Zach Wilson too. Why bother? After whiffing today, there are so many damn holes to fill that they might be best off trading down from #2 to get as many picks as possible. Still not the most likely outcome in my opinion, and I want Wilson personally, but this argument does look better than it did yesterday.

Time to ruin another rookie QB with a bad line. Yay.

The Jets are cursed

It makes the most sense. You still have the Seattle draft capital to build around him with and the pick for Sam too. You get a QB on his rookie deal so can get max support via free agency too. I’d say 75% chance now Zach Wilson is the guy for 2021.

My take is that Fields had ALL DAY to throw at Ohio State. He'll have half the amount of time with the Jets. People are skeptical he'll be able to make those throws with so little time.

I don't see why this is such a touchy subject. Sam should know he played like a bottom 5 starting QB last year, even after adjusting for the horrible coaching and roster. It's not a secret we need to beat around. The guy hasn't played well enough to earn untouchable status. Sam needs to take his lumps like a man, start over fresh somewhere else where he can reset his internal clock, and do better at his next opportunity. He'll never be able to see the field well as a Jet given what he's been through.

We need a Brunell/McCown type to mentor the kid if they draft him. Someone who knows the west coast system.

After today’s presser I have to imagine they are taking QB at 2 unless they love Lance. But if they did trade down I’d want a 1 next year at a minimum to use as ammo for a Watson trade if it goes in-season.

Just get someone. We need another John Abraham type. Would really take a lot of heat off the entire defense. Especially now that it's formally a 4-3 D.

OL, Edge, WR, or CB. Get a multi-year starter at any of those positions and I'll be happy.

Better internal clock and sense of rush coming from blind areas. Wilson has good short area quickness too and can scramble. He's got some Kyler Murray to his game.

Wilson can adapt to NFL rush better than Fields IMO

Teams are terrified that Fields was a beneficiary of a very good o-line that allowed him all day to hold the ball and throw it. On the Jets he'd get half the amount of time before the pass rush got there. Wouldn't work IMO. I'd take Wilson over Fields, and I'd use the #2 overall pick on Wilson.

He could've solved all that by taking advantage of the chances he had, instead he fumbled and gave up a TD. Stop making excuses for Sanchez.

OK he may be a good guy, but to say Rex ruined him is an altogether different topic and a stretch IMO.

One thing to consider is on BYU, many seniors are 24/25 years old because they've been on missions. Wilson didn't tdo that, he's 21, so maybe the age is a factor in not being a captain. Regardless, he's no Josh Rosen. He's a much better talent.

They are absolutely not fielding offers for Wilson. Wilson's camp simply leaked a report that they want the organization to prioritize o-line. They probably regret the Adams trade, though.

Cimini is way off base. The Jets have already moved on from Darnold. If not Watson it’ll be a QB in the draft, I’m betting Wilson.
