  1. I hate Tom Brady with the passion of 1000 suns, but any attempt to diminish, disparage, or explain away his success and incredible list of accomplishments is just SOUR GRAPES by bitter Jets fans, plain and simple. Someone said it earlier. He is Babe Ruth. He is Wayne Gretzky. He is in a class all by himself. He is the unequivocal GOAT. To think otherwise is just folly.
  2. My daughter tested positive for covid almost two weeks ago. She was really messed up for a few days. Lots of coughing and congestion, and a fever. Heavy symptoms lasted for around 72 hours. Felt better after that, except for a lingering cough. She was probably contagious for a least 4 days comingling with everyone in the house before she showed any symptoms and tested positive. She isolated in her room and my wife and I who are triple vaxxed, and my son who is double vaxxed, thankfully escaped without getting it.
  3. The most disheartening part of this is the lack of hope for the future of this team. It's the same cycle over and over with no relief in sight. We are stuck on a carousel of sh*tty GM's and sh*tty coaches. We know how this latest iteration of a rebuild is going to end with Douglas and Saleh, but we have to sit here for at least another year before the NEXT big changes are made, the front office and players team are purged, and the next rebuild starts. When does this all end? When is the payoff? This team is a JOKE.
  4. Let's see him do that and we'll talk. The Jets were a 4 win team going nowhere when he took over and they are a 3 win team going nowhere 2-1/2 seasons later. And by the way, when you're handed lottery draft picks every year, you BETTER be drafting studs.
  5. At the most important position, JD invested one year too many in Darnold and he drafted Wilson who looks far from a #2 pick in the draft, franchise type QB. Both he and Wilson get one more year to prove all the naysayers wrong, but he will be sent packing if Wilson craps the bed next season. He hung his hat on Wilson, and he will have to go down with that ship.
  6. I think we can all agree that Jets fans collectively have PTSD from the last decade of their "highly touted" young QB's. That being said, looking at as objectively as I can, Zack Wilson so far has shown us LESS than Darnold, Smith, and Sanchez did in their rookie seasons BY A MILE. Yes, the team has been decimated by injuries and didn't have a lot of talent to begin with, but that cannot excuse the mental lapses and lack of consistency, accuracy and touch Wilson is guilty of this season. All of those things are alarming, to say the least. Not sure how this is going to pan out but I have very nauseous feeling in my stomach. Joe Douglas has somehow managed to have this team in worse shape right now than the day he inherited the team 2-1/2 years ago. Gentlemen, the Jets are the definition of a mickey mouse organization, and all of the clever excuses that are made here for JD and Wilson will not change the fact that this team is a disgrace and an embarrassment. After year two of Gase, I felt like that was the most dejected and disappointed I've ever been in 45 years of Jets fandom and didn't think I could ever feel any worse. WRONG!!! This ******* team somehow finds a way of moving the line as to how low their fandom can sink. Truly pathetic.
  7. Other than Moore and Crowder, the WR group has been terrible. Davis has been criminally bad. If Wilson is going to succeed, the room needs a significant upgrade this offseason.
  8. I would like a roll call from everyone who died on the hill defending Douglas for this abominable pick. Douglas has had 3 offseasons and 2 drafts and currently has a 2 win team on his hands. They are no better off now than the day he got the job. He has been a BAD GM.
  9. No one is afraid of Mike White. The fanbase is viewing him thru beer goggles. Let's all take a deep breath and relax. Because this fanbase has suffered through YEARS of terrible QB play, the first time someone "Browning Nagle's" a really good game, we automatically anoint him the second coming of Joe Namath. Even a broken clock is right twice a day. Mike White is our latest and greatest broken clock. This franchise needs to play Zack Wilson the second he is ready to go, and if they don't, cue the clown music.
  10. Haven't read thru this entire thread but I'm sure the consensus is that this is a gratuitous move by a GM on the hot seat who is trying to justify giving away a draft pick mid season for a QB3. There is no good reason on God's green earth to start Flacco over White here if Wilson is in fact still not ready. This franchise is a ******* joke, and the joker's-in chief are the Johnsons for either sanctioning this move or doing nothing and letting it happen
  11. My 1a are the Redskins (that's right, I still call them the Redskins - at least when I'm reminiscing ) which makes me a big friggin' two time loser!! Follow them from afar now, but still feel their pain. Loved the early 80's Redskins teams with Theismann / Riggins/ Monk / Brown,
  12. Did anyone else imagine the clown car circus music playing in the background when reading the original tweet? Giving up draft capital for Flacco is proof positive that Joe Douglas is a terrible GM. What a joke! This is definitely a panic move for a GM who is finally on the hot seat. Lets win a few games to mask the terrible job he's done. What can go wrong?
  13. This is the most frustrated I've ever been as a fan of this team, which began in the mid 70's. I didn't expect a playoff team this year, but I did expect to watch a competitive team and see some growth from our young players and a coming together of the latest rebuild vision. There is none of that going on here so far this season, and quite frankly, not much if any at all during the entire Joe Douglas era. We all suffer from battered wife syndrome. We make excuses time after time for our coaches, our players, and the front office for every misstep and blunder they make. We try to extract the smallest of positives from a consistently replenished pile of negatives, fooling ourselves into false hope. After a few years, we finally turn on the most recent failed rebuild, and scream from the rooftops to start over. The GM, the coaches, and players are then reshuffled, and then we start the cycle over of making excuses for the next batch. When the hell are the Jets going to get the rebuild right???? This team is currently an abomination from top to bottom. There is literally no silver lining here. Nothing to root for. We see teams year after year that change their front office, change their HC, and change their QB, and more times than not, teams seem to get al least one if not more of these changes and decisions right, and manage to shift their franchise to be pointing in the right direction and give a little hope to their fanbase. This Jets team has been stuck in the mud for the last 10+ years with no escape currently in sight. Joe Douglas has NOT been a good GM. Saleh has been a TERRIBLE coach. Mike Lafleur is an ABOMINABLE OC, and Zack Wilson has been a TERRIBLE QB, and the shortcomings of each contributes to the other being even more terrible than they should be! How many times can the Jets shuffle these 4 positions and get every single one wrong??????? ITS BEEN OVER 10 FRIGGIN YEARS!!!!! I want to pull my f'n hair out!!!!! How much time and emotion can we keep investing in a team where there is NEVER any kind of payoff??????
  14. I think the NFL has become very watered down product and nothing like the football I grew up with in the late 70's and 80's. I've given a lot of thought as to why I feel that way, and the easy surface level answer is that I'm older now, more cynical in general based on life experience, and it's ME who has changed and not football. But then of course I realize that it's not ME, it IS the NFL that has changed. It's BIG business now, and it's run that way, kowtowing to political influences, the massive gambling industry, and their TV and broadcast partners. They've altered the rules to protect the biggest investments - the QB's, and have removed much of the hard hitting and intensity from the game to the point where it feels like you're not even watching tackle football sometimes. You can't breathe on the QB or the WR's without seeing a flag, and the holding calls and other ticky tack penalties are so random and inconsistent and way too often, decide games. This definitely is NOT your daddy's NFL.
  15. This is pretty spot on and at least for me, it highlights the fact that after 2 drafts and 3+ seasons under Joe Douglas, we are truly no further along in our latest "rebuild" than the day he started. The names in the front office change every few years and so do the HC's and players on the field, but the end result is the Jets forever spinning their wheels, going absolutely nowhere. When the hell is this ever going to end????
  16. I just threw up in my mouth a little bit.
  17. Teams don't let their WR1 walk, especially not their WR1 drafted in the top 5, for no reason......except if he's not really a #1, of course. it's painfully obvious after 3 games that Davis is not a high motor or maximum effort player and his hands are suspect. Quite frankly, his drops are alarming. If your shiny new blue chip rookie QB can't rely on his WR1, he's in big trouble. This another failure in progress that falls at the feet of our esteemed GM.
  18. I feel like there has been a glitch in the matrix as this feels EXACTLY like it did 3 years ago after a few games with Darnold at the helm. After a shaky start, we were all saying that Darnold has star potential but he's been restricted by the talent around, him and the failures of the front office. We went on to say that he's shown "flashes" and that we were confident that he would turn it around as the season progresses. If this isn't a case of history literally repeating itself, I don't know what is. Joe Douglas has failed this team and he should officially be on the hot seat.
  19. Seriously folks, this is friggin exhausting. We have been stuck in in the bad GM, bad HC, bad OC, DC wrong players cycle for DECADES! Every few years we change the names on and off the field, but the results are the same - TERRIBLE. The common denominator over the last 20 years hase been the Johnsons. This team will never win as long as they're in control. At this point, we would all be happy with just being competitive and not the laughing stock of the league.. This team has not been competitive for THREE ******* YEARS!!! THREE!!!!! Again, this is exhausting.
  20. I just don't understand those who are still saying that "we need to give JD more time, blah blah blah. WHY?????? This is HIS team, from top to bottom. He's completely shaped it to his vision over the last 3 years. He's drafted poorly and his FA signings and strategy has been AWFUL! It's literally professional negligence what he did to Darnold and he's clearly learned NOTHING from it as Zack Wilson is surrounded by a bunch of BUMS and is set up for failure as a result in 2021 and beyond. The stink coming from Met Life Stadium is all over him.
  21. Completely agree. The blueprint of a proper rebuild was finally executed correctly and right people were seemingly put in place to see it through, but inexplicably, the end result is the same hot pile of steaming garbage that we've been staring at for decades. I am so disgusted and disheartened that I feel like I don't want to invest the energy to care anymore. I was visiting my son at Penn State this weekend and even though the game was a layup, I had an amazing time watching PSU demolish Villanova, and I was wondering to myself as I'm looking around the stadium filled with 105,000 screaming, happy, and invested fans, when was the last time I felt as good about the Jets as I did about PSU at that moment???? When the **** is the payoff with the Jets after investing so much time and energy on them???? Don't we the fans, especially the long suffering ones, deserve a goddamn payoff just once in a while????? At what point to we just finally give up and walk away from this never ending mess?? Honestly, I'm just about there. I've given the Jets way more than they've given me. How much longer should we all continue to be disappointed?
  22. In 45+ years of disappointment in this team, I cannot recall I time that I've been more disappointed than right now. This team is an unmitigated disaster. There is no shining light ANYWHERE or a glimmer of hope. The roster, after THREE F'N years of JD's rebuild, is no better off than it was 3 years ago and the team is committing the same exact blunders that got Darnold killed and run out of town - NO ******* TALENT SURROUNDING THE QB. The WR's are invisible, the running game is garbage, and the gamreplanning has been atrocious. Wilson has ZERO chance to succeed on this 2021 team. It's amazing that no matter who the GM or HC is, this team just cannot get out of it's own way. Poor drafting, signing the wrong FA's and not creating a system to put whoever is on the roster in the best position to succeed . EVRY ******* YEAR ITS THE SAME!!!! ENOUGH OF THIS GARBAGE ALREADY!!!!!!!
  23. Wilson looks good and throws for 3 TD's in a Jets win. Book it. Can't wait to see the incredible reversal of opinion by some of you and the verbal fellatio you'll be giving Wilson after a bounce back game. Conclusion - Some of you need to chiiiiiiiiiiiiiil. 2 games does not a career make. Jesus.
