  1. Trumaine gives me sadness when I should otherwise feel very happy Sent from my iPhone using JetNation.com mobile app
  2. By all accounts Darnold was looking to be ok to play that week. What would’ve been tragic is if Darnold was healthy and didn’t get reps because we might’ve been playing Falk. Trust me, Falk getting reps would not help his cause very much, he just sucks. Sent from my iPhone using JetNation.com mobile app

  5. Just because he’s an a$$hole doesn’t make it ok to lie about him to make him look like more of an a$$hole. Make no mistake I’m not a fan of his, but Sherman crossed a serious line here. If video didn’t dispel the lie we’d all still believe it. Sent from my iPhone using JetNation.com mobile app
  6. I’m referring to my original post which outlined in detail what we’re working with right now, and why we’re in this situation. You decided to read one line, quote it, and go on how I’m somehow relating my post to past coaches and then call it a straw man argument. If you’re going to try and engage in a debate with someone have the decency to read and address all of it, not one line that perpetuates your “miserable Warfish is miserable” persona. There’s plenty of other members here that’ll engage that nonsense. Sent from my iPhone using JetNation.com mobile app
  7. Wait, so you’re using past HC’s as your grounds to knock my post in saying that it’s absurd to want to can a coach after 4 games, completely ignoring the mounds of reasoning as to why that’s ridiculous, call my argument a straw man argument even though you completely ignored any of the facts I laid out as to why in this situation is absurd, and then finish your statement saying you’re not saying we should fire him? So wtf are you saying Warfish, and why then if you agree with me are you trying to attack my reasoning (the reasoning you completely ignored) as straw man? What, pray tell, does the all knowing Warfish do right now with this team? Fire him, or follow into the so called straw man argument that he deserves more time? 8. George Kittle was drafted and developed by SF. I’m curious who’s out on the street now that Douglas can sign that’s gonna play like Kittle, Sent from my iPhone using JetNation.com mobile app
  9. I’m not a fan of Mayfield’s antics, but Sherman crossed a line lying about an opponent’s integrity to the national media. Acts like that can cost a player’s reputation and even their wallet. It’s a real dick move and not the first time Sherman has done that. Sent from my iPhone using JetNation.com mobile app
  10. I think we should hire coaches to 4 game contracts. Let’s fire Gase right now, I hear Jay Gruden is available. If he doesn’t go 3-1 or better fire him. Am I doing it right Warfish? Or is 4 games too much? How about we just fire a coach as soon as they lose a game? Sent from my iPhone using JetNation.com mobile app
  11. Russell Wilson understands how to create sight lines ala Brees to compensate. Russell also does not flush out of the pocket until he has to, and he uses his athleticism to create opportunities once the play breaks down. He avoids the sack and at that point the receivers have completed their routes and are now working against a confused D that is covering beyond the design of the play, hence guys are open. Mayfield is clearing out of the pocket before there’s pressure. The routes are still developing so by the time Mayfield clears they’re still in their routes and it gives the DL time to catch up to him outside of the pocket before the routes and coverages break down. That is why it’s imperative the QB stand in the pocket until it actually breaks down. From what I’ve seen of Mayfield it’s my opinion he’s breaking out of the pocket because he can’t see the field clearly beyond his first read. I don’t think that he’s mentally incompetent to go to his2nd/3rd reads (vs a guy like Geno who just can’t comprehend what he’s seeing), I just don’t think he sees them clearly. He’s an accurate thrower who has thrown a lot of off target passes. In my opinion that’s because he’s throwing to a spot he feels his WR should be vs actually seeing where the receiver is nor the coverage in the area. In other words he’s throwing up prayers. He needs to learn how to create and utilize his sight lines the way Brees does because he does not have the athleticism of Wilson to bail himself out. If he doesn’t his career is going to be short (no pun intended). Sent from my iPhone using JetNation.com mobile app
  12. Jets fans are amongst the most absurd fans in the league. Will Gase be good, who knows? But to want to fire him for coaching a team that has very little talent on the first team, and in my opinion the worst depth in the league, all of which he had little to no hand in building, is ridiculous. Our previous 2 GM’s put zero emphasis on the OL. Zero. From 2009-2014 there are 2 players still on the team, Enunwa and Winters. 40 players drafted in that timeframe, 2 on the team. That’s the timeframe of players that should be well into or at least entering the prime of their career and we have 2 guys, neither of which are all that good. That is abominably bad. Since that point the players still on the team not including the most recent draft are Darnold Adams L Williams Maye Herndon Fatukasi Cannon Edwards Shell Jenkins That’s 10 out of 28 picks. 5 of which likely won’t be on the team next year. Adams and Darnold are the only two with potential to be among the better players in the league at their position. We’ve already cut one of the 2019 picks, and none of the others other than Q look to be impactful players. 12 players on the team drafter from 2009 through 2018, 7 of which will likely be gone next season. This all fronted by a former 6th round pick in his 2nd season who clearly isn’t ready to even sniff an nfl field, much less start a game. We have no depth at all, poor starters in most positions, and no QB. What do you seriously expect? We are a team needing a major overhaul, and you have to give these guys the time to do it. 13. I think it’s a combination of the Jets sucking, the awful rules changes and officiating, and the TMZ style culture with the players and the league. To me the NFL feels a lot like MTV did back in the days when they started playing tv and reality shows. It feels like the NFL is trying to shove fashion and glitz down everyone’s throats because the product is going to sh*t. Sent from my iPhone using JetNation.com mobile app
  14. My honest assessment of Mayfield is I don’t think he has learned to create sight lanes to compensate for his height deficiency on the field. He seems to panic in the pocket before he needs to and tries to run out in space and play street ball at that point. Sent from my iPhone using JetNation.com mobile app
  15. I don’t think Baker has figured out how to overcome his height deficiencies ala Brees and Wilson. Sent from my iPhone using JetNation.com mobile app
