  1. If this is really true, someone please list out all of the young guys that came in and outplayed the vet they were sitting behind for far too long. Bowles doesn’t favor vets to a fault. Bowles knew that Petty and Hack are and were downright awful. Fans demanded they see it for themselves, me included at times admittedly, and got pissed and assumed Bowles just won’t play young guys. Otherwise we’ve had young guys and rookies starting all over the team. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Our owner is good for the team

He wasn’t. This was outed somewhere a while ago. Rex and Tanny were sitting together in an airport when the news hit that Tebow was available for a trade. Rex immediately started talking about how Tebow beat his D earlier that year and how he felt he could help them in Wildcat situations. Tanny was reluctant but ran the idea up to Woody. Woody was against the idea completely. He felt it would bring the circus it eventually did, however Rex convinced both that Tebow was not being brought in as a QB, therefore there would be no controversy. Rex was a bonafide idiot, but Woody was deferring to his football people which is really what you want an owner to do. Problem is you also want your owner to hire good football people. Bowles is fired up!

I know someone who grew up with Todd, played football with him in Elizabeth, and still does talk to him from time to time. One thing I think is apparent is the Todd Bowles everyone thinks they know is not close to the Todd Bowles with the players and people close to him. Todd is intense as hell and incredibly smart. He can be incredibly disciplined and does not put up with bullsh*t, but also knows how to get along easy with many personalities. His media personality is nothing like his locker room personality, and he doesn’t do it trying to emulate others like Belicheck. He just doesn’t give up his guard to people he doesn’t trust. I think personally he can be far too conservative as a coach in games, but I do think he coaches players well and has their buy in. I think people criticize his unwillingness to play young QB’s but after seeing how bad Petty is I realize he was right. That guy has no business on an NFL field and I’ll take Todd’s word that Hack doesn’t either. Todd had had no problems playing rookies elsewhere so it stands to reason he’d play a young QB if the QB we’re good. I think we’ll see that with Darnold. As for him not deliberately tanking, thank god we don’t have a coach that would tank on purpose. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Fins signed Petty

I would love for Petty to be the starter in MIA, but they’ll cut him before opening day. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Petty Cut

Petty had 3 seasons and is 27. They are going to give Hack his 3rd season, at least his 3rd preseason. There’s zero reason not to. Other players don’t give a flying **** that they keep Petty and do or do not keep Hack. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Petty Cut

So hack has a tear less experience and is 4 years younger. You’re really trying to make a case that players are gonna revolt over Petty. Really?? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Petty Cut

Ummm no. Petty sucked. Like him or not, he sucked. He’s 27 and had 3 years in the league and showed he sucked. Hack probably sucks too, but he’s 2 years in the league and 23. There will be no revolt for Petty, that’s laughable.

    Petty Cut

Completely agree. However Bryce Petty is 4 years older than Hack and had a full year more of development time to prove how terrible he is. Hack is 23 years old. For perspective on that, Baker Mayfield is 2 months younger than Hack and was drafted this year. Hackenburg is going to get this preseason at least to prove that he can be a legitimate backup at least. Petty proved at 27 years old with 3 full years under his belt that he’s not good enough. 10. I think the assumption that McCown won’t have declined needs to be analyzed. McCown is old. Really old. He’s also historically fragile. Chances are realistic that McCown comes in playing like sh*t. I think you have to weigh the ability of Darnold against McCown with the notion that Darnold will likely improve and McCown can only decline. Having said that if these two look to be on or near equal footing in TC then Darnold must get the nod. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Petty Cut

What abilities? He clearly could not read a defense before or during a play. Any ideas of him trying to play street ball ala Russell Wilson go out the window for a guy made of glass. He’s a nice kid. Really nice. He’s not an NFL caliber QB. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Dude come on, no one was trading for Petty. Dude is gonna be out of the league on opening day. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Petty > Hack

Petty is garbage and really has hit his ceiling. Hack is garbage as well, but he’s young and deserves a look at least as long as Petty was given to prove his garbageness. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Boy, am I glad we didn't sign Cousins.

Exactly. Everyone wants to blast Bowles for not starting young QB’s but no one wants to give credit and admit the young QB’s are downright awful. Bryce Petty has no business on an NFL field. The trade rumors were laughable. The only thing Petty has proved in his career is you sure as hell don’t want him as your #2, and he’s too old to really invest developing him as a 3. I give him less than a 50% chance of even being on a roster day one. And as bad as Petty is, Hack is even worse. So Bowles hasn’t proven that he won’t play a young QB, he’s proven he won’t play a sh*tty young QB. In fact, we drafted 2 safeties last year and he plugged him as starters right away. Bowles background is on D and he’s shown no issue starting a rookie. In fact the only stubbornness I see are the fans unwilling to admit Bowles was right in not starting two guys that are an embarrassment On the field. If Darnold shows he’s ready, he’ll start day one. If he doesn’t he won’t, and there’s nothing wrong with that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Calvin Pryor also had 0 interceptions his rookie season. I’m not comparing Jamal to Calvin, I’m just saying they both had 0 interceptions their rookie seasons. See how that works?? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
