With the starters/vets resting, we will get some great insights into all the key roster-spot battles tonight.  It will be AWESOME!

    • RB - Perine vs Johnson vs  Knight  - all fighting for 1 roster spot (or maybe even just 1-2 practice squad spots)
    • WR - Assuming Mims is safe, Smith vs Jackson vs Black, vs Charles - fighting for 1 or 2 spots on the practice squad
    • TE - Wesco vs Cager vs Yeboah  - all looking to make a case for a roster spot (all could be on the PS)
    • OL - Edoga vs McDermott probably fighting for 1 spot. Hermanns trying to get in the mix.
    • DL - Tanzel Smart vs Jonothan Marshall at DT - do Solomon Thomas and Nathan Sheppard even play? / Jabari Zuniga vs Bryce Huff (who might be out with an injury) at DE
    • LB - Marcell Harris vs Hamsah Nasirildeen for a roster spot at OLB - does UDFA DQ Thomas play much?
    • CB - Justin Hardee vs Rachard Wildgoose vs Isaiah Dunn vs Brandin Echols for 2 spots?
    • S - Will Parks vs Ashtyn Davis  - both might have a spot

    nice break down

I don't want to hear excuses if we struggle in the beginning of the season

Brace yourself. The narratives are trickling out slowest already

    1) Zach didn’t have a full pre season

    2) The team is “gelling”

    3) we are “young”

Only a matter of time till we hear 23 is actually when we are supposed to be competitive and 24 is the new magic year

    Just watch

I'm old enough to remember January of 2021, when everybody wanted a CEO type head coach who left the Xs and Os to the coordinators.

Saleh has me worried for a number of reasons. The glaring one is of course his defense which was gos awful. Then again he didn’t have a lot of talent. Second, I hate “player friendly” coaches, should of learned our lesson from Bowles. The only advantage to me seems to at times be able to snag someone in FA to come play for you. Third, he waffles a lot, you can tell in games and like this situation. Weird insight that he’s like basically admitting it’s how he feels when he wakes up. Like wow. Ok Robert

Hes weighing the advantages of playing time for starters and developing the units vs the risk of an injury.  Hes been consistent with this dilemma for two preseasons when asked about starters playing time in the preseason

Whats so hard to understand about the dilemma

That it’s Sunday and he hasn’t made a decision

There’s no doubt that this is a major part of their thinking. I think if Zach was available that the starters would be going without question, but Joe Flacco doesn’t really need preseason reps behind an OL still trying to settle its OT situation.

Just means Flacco and a new OL take their first reps on opening day makes me nervous
