Except we had a 38-year old at QB and 31-year old starting at RB...

The defense was only young because of all the early draft picks we’ve used there. Williams, Lee, both safeties, etc.

A true tank effort would have been going with Petty as starter from the beginning, with Hack and a camp arm as the alternatives.

Most would of argued getting McCown was the ultimate tank move he jus went out there and balled, not his fault or the teams. Just how th cookie crumbled but we had a tank roster

I'm not sure you grasp the whole idea of tanking.

Oh please enlighten me? Ask players to lose games because we know that’s not reality. A gm strips the team of talent and plays the “kids” which is essentially what we did

"Continue to tank"?  We haven't tanked yet.

And that's why I won't care if Macc and/or bowles is fired.  We shouldn't have had more than two wins this year.

Yep cutting decker mangold Marshall etc and signing a 38 year old journeyman qb who won 2 games in like his last 20 starts was def mac trying to win.

I don’t want Allen either and I find it troubling idiot Hack writers like Mehta who are just mouthpieces for this inept franchise  are running around talking him up now and how we should take him over Lamar Jackson and sign Teddy freakin Bridgewater who wasn’t good before almost getting his leg amputated

If we trade up for Allen forget about being a Giants fan I will become a huge New England Patriots fan

You are one of the guys who loves to complain and doesn’t offer solutions! What would you like the jets to do at the qb position?

Giants aren’t even a lock for the #2 pick.

i really don’t understand why you think the Colts can’t secure that spot. The Giants played a good game last week. Manning isn’t going out without some pride to take with him. But if it’s Allen or Mayfield, I want Mayfield all day, every day. Give me moxie and accuracy over arm strength and body size.

Let’s see if the colts win today

  6. We are not getting Darnold or Rosen at 1 and 2. Get over it, browns and giants are not trading out. With that said it’s betwen mayfield or Allen and most have Allen more highly rated ( still skeptical since Wyoming plays crap teams but ok). If we trade up and snag him at 3 from bears or colts what is our expectations next year? I mean we need to still get this man help but with the current roster and Allen what are the Jets next year? Playoff contenders? Just curious to hear all your opinions. Jet up!

Petty completed only 50% or so of his passes. Didn't throw the ball downfield a lot, and still is doing what he always does, which is aim for the receivers instead of throwing timing passes. Didn't really show good instincts or accuracy.

the question is, will he get better with enough time or have we seen enough from him?

Petty was a chance pick in the 4th. It never worked out, he just doesn’t have it.

I'm gonna bet NFL GMs have Allen rated higher than a lot of us believe. Here's how I see it playing out:

    1 - Browns (1-15) - QB - Sam Darnold

2 - Giants (3-13) - QB - Josh Rosen - flip them if you want either way these two are going top 2.

3 - Colts (4-12) - EDGE - Bradley Chubb - Indy considers trading back after deciding to stick with Luck and Brisset but decide to stay put and arguably get the best player in the country

4 - Browns via Huston (4-12) - **TRADE** - Buffalo - QB - Josh Allen - The Bills move up to select their QB of the future. After an impressive combine Allen shoots up draft boards. Bills give up 2018 1st, 2018 1st (from Chiefs), and 2019 1st.

    5 - 49ers (4-12) - RB - Saquon Barkley - They give Jimmy G a new weapon

6 - Bears (4-12) - **TRADE** - Jets - QB - Baker Mayfield - The Jets know the Broncos are picking ahead of them and the Cardinals are trying to trade up so they make the jump up to get their guy. Mayfield fell to the 4th QB taken after having shaky measurables at the combine and questions about his game transitioning to the NFL. The Bears are more than happy to recoup some draft picks to slide back a few slots. Jets give up their 2018 1st and a 2019 1st. Cardinals make the same offer but the Jets picks will be higher.

7 - Bucs (4-12) - CB - Minkah Fitzpatrick - Brent Grimes is 34, they draft his replacement.

8 - Broncos (5-11) - LT - Mike McGlinchey - The Broncos are upset that a QB didn't fall to them. Elway doesn't strike me as the guy to trade up for a players like Baker Mayfield or Lamar Jackson. They take a LT to protect Lynch and give him one more year to see if he has what it takes.

9 - Jets (5-11) - **TRADE** - Bears - WR - Calvin Ridley - Great trade by the Bears, they acquire more picks and they still get the WR they had their eyes on.

10 - Bengals (6-10) - G - Quenton Nelson - The middle of their OL needs work, this is an easy pick

11 - Cardinals (6-10) - QB - Lamar Jackson - The Cardinals still get a QB, not as polished as the first 4 taken but the ceiling is sky high for Jackson. Jackson can sit behind Palmer for a year and work on his mechanics before taking over next year.

2 first round picks for baker mayfield??? No way

Yes we know that QBs can never see the light after 4 rocky starts to start their career...oh wait Peyton did, and his brother, and Goff looked worse than Petty last year and now looks like a franchise guy and on and on and on. 5 starts is no where NEAR enough starts to see if a QB can develop. The stuff Petty was struggling with are the parts of the offense that require lots of reps and building up timing which Toilet Bowles did not give him time to do. Petty struggling is not necessarily a function of him being bad, but an indictment of a coaching staff refusing to develop their own QB over time, and instead stubbornly and arrogantly trotting out a veteran QB in a vain attempt to squeeze out a few meaningless victories. Woody finally did the right thing and agreed to a rebuild but then Toilet Bowles fugged the entire plan up the a$$ by starting his new pet veteran JAGOFF.

We should be looking at the two gorgeous deep balls Petty threw and not the inconsistency on short stuff which would absolutely improve with REPS and playing in GAMES>

This can’t be for real. Omg

Again, what were your expectations? He was a 4th round pick from an offense that asked him to literally do zero processing of defenses or anything NFL QBs have to do.  He was a complete project, even more than Hackenburg.  If you thought he might be a starting level QB someday, then that's on you.

I expect him to complete more then half his passes. If that’s to much to ask the ok

What was the activity they do st the combine to measure spark? I forget.

I don’t know be better then 1-4. “Chunk plays” aka plays more then 20 yards. Do you even watch football bro or play madden all day

What were your expectations of Bryce Petty as a 4th round pick that he's a "complete whiff"?

PS, it's more about the coaching a QB gets then "finding the right one".

Did you watch this guys 5 starts? I did. He is beyond awful, he terrible. He’s inaccurate, makes bad decisions and has zero spark

  13. I’m curious to know is everyone confident he will pick that right one. We will prob pick 6-8 which means we won’t get the top 2. This guys has totally whiffed on petty and hack. Why do we trust him with this very big upcoming qb pick? To me it’s cousins or bust.

What else you want from a Jet #2 under a bad gm ? Not hackenberg that’s for sure. Not a non blue chip qb Mac drafts next yr. McCown is our best option for starter next yr, you want to sign a  “ McCown lite “ to be his backup? 🤣

A qb that completes more then half his passes? And when he misses doesn’t miss by feet but but inches? Is that to much to ask?
