  1. Becton is young and immature, but he will grow, get wiser, and ultimately learn how to be a professional athlete. When that happens, we will all be glad the franchise had patience with him. Guys like Becton don't come around very often, huge and athletic. I trust our coaches and GM will push Becton towards being the player he should be this coming year. No, I don't trade his level of talent this early in his career.

  2. Silly stuff! The Jets will either draft a QB in this year's draft or role with Darnold. If they draft a QB, they will use the 1.2 pick on Wilson or Fields - period! No GM in their right mind would go into the draft with the number 2 pick, knowing they want to draft a QB, then trade out of the position that best affords them the opportunity to draft the best talent available outside of Lawrence. That's just not happening. It's not like The Jets don't already have a plethora of draft picks in 2021/2022.

  3. From everything I've read, he is a much better guard than center, which he played last year. Maybe there's a chance he's an upgrade over Lewis or GVR. I still believe Cameron Clark has a shot to be a starting guard. With a full training camp and a bit more experience playing at guard, there is no reason he can't compete for one of the guard positions. Who knows if he's in the plan - time will tell.

  4. Nice video! But the very premise Green Bean is suggesting is why Houston won't trade Watson. Their return on the Watson investment will be very low. Great way to start a new era with a new HC and the fan base will revolt. Texans are very conscious of their fan base, regardless of what you may think. Texans fan are as zealous as Jets fans and have been supportive of the team thru thick and thin. But, trading Watson for anything less than 4 first round picks will cause a revolt. I do not see that happening. By the way, I am all in on Green Bean's premise for a trade........but it takes two to tango. No way the Texans make a move on Watson for 2 firsts and a third.

  5. Texans signed Watson to a new, 4 year, $156M contract about 4 months ago. Since then, he has been acting like he should be making decisions for the team. He has repeatadly claimed the Texans are not supporting social justice practices, has been critical of their decision making process, and has been very busy on social media airing his grievances  (there are more issues beyond the above). McNair has made every effort to appease Watson, including asking for permission to interview Watson's preferred candidiate for HC (Bieniemy) who can not seem to get a HC job in spite of all the interviews he's had in the past 2 years. Don't be surprised if he ends up as the Texans new HC, just to appease Watson.

Sorry, but this all reaks of a player wanting to mandate how a football team operates. Granted, he had issues with Bill O'Brien and his leadsership - rightfully so. But O'Biren is gone, damage has been done. Now move on and quit acting like a diva. The team has been very supportive of Watson throughout his career. He just wants out, wants to go to a contender (Dolphins to be precise). Sorry, but I don't believe that he will change the Jets fortunes. He will cost a ton of money, lots of high draft picks, and delay the process that has beeen started of changing the culture and overall talent of our football team. To DCJet - items 2 and 3 apply. That's the last of this I will post. To be honest, I do not see a scenario where a potential Jets trade for Watson manifests itself. Time will tell.

Still waiting on those examples that show Watson to be a head case. From everything I've heard hes nothing but a stand up guy

I appreciate your support for Watson and believing he is a standup guy - he is that, without a doubt. But he has his warts. If our Jets were a QB away from being real contenders, I would be all over trading for him. We are not, the cost to acquire him will be prohibitive (Bill is no longer coach / GM), he is a bit of a diva and has acted like one since he signed his new contract. We (Houston market) have seen a progression of that attitude recently. I will not try to go back to quote everything that we hear locally. It's not worth my time. I enjoy this site, have been a member from the old site to this one for 17 years - but do not post much. Just leave it at "I personally am not in favor of trading for him".

A bit of a head case? What does this mean? Guy has no off field issues, is well spoken and respected by all his team mates and opponents alike. Not a bad thing has ever been spoken about him that im aware of

Do you live in Houston? Follow the Texans? Listen to sports news on local stations? If you did, you would understand. He's a good guy - just a head case sometimes. His overt anger at the team and ownership is just an example. If he truly cares about making the Texans a better team / franchise, there are better, more covert ways of accomplishing what he wants. I will leave it at that. Jets making a play for Watson would be a mistake, one that I seriously doubt Douglas makes.

  8. Watson is an elite QB and a  good person that cares about the community he lives in. But no thanks on the Jets trading for him. Texans will want way too much in a trade for one. In spite of his personal heroics, he has not transformed the Texans into perennial winners. And they have had some talented teams in his time here (not so much this year). And he can be a bit of a head case. He will not transform the Jets and may actually derail what we all hope is a well thought out rebuild by our GM and new HC. Its a hard pass for me. PS....I live just outside of Houston, I follow the Texans, think well of Watson and still don't want him on our team.

Forget the fact that you just hired a Defensive Coach in Year 2021.

Robert Saleh runs the same defense as Pete Carroll. Josh Allen and the Bills Offense is designed to obliterate that Defensive scheme into the sun.

Did you see what Josh Allen did to that defensive scheme this season?

Josh Allen vs Robert Saleh's Defense in 2020:

    32/40 (80%)

    375 yards (9.4 YPA)

    4 TDs

    0 INTs

    139.1 Passer Rating

Josh Allen vs Robert Saleh's protege Pete Carroll's Defense in 2020:

    31/38 (82%)

    415 yards (10.9 YPA)

    4 TDs

    0 INTs

    138.5 Passer Rating

Jets were like "Let's hire the 1 coach who matches up the absolute WORST with the top dog in our division"

This is why bad franchises stay bad. Because of illogical, nonsensical decisions like this.

Four words "you are an idiot"

  10. Texans need to repair their relationship with Watson, the right coach will go a long way to make that happen. Texans fan base will revolt if Watson js traded, still pissed about Hopkins. I think there is zero chance of a trade happening
