Most NFL owners are pushing 80.  Mr. Johnson took over the team when he was 57.  Leave him alone.  He's the biggest Jets fan on the planet and he's doing a great job.  This team has been averaging 4.5 wins a season and we're about to get 8 to 10 because of his decision making and leadership.  Show some respect.

Again, respect is earned, not given.

What evidence is there that Christopher Johnson is acting like a child?  Was he caught in a rub-n-tug in Florida?  Some workplace misconduct in North Carolina?

His brother took off for London and dumped the family business in his lap.  He's learning.  And I think there is evidence since January that he's blossoming.  The Jets are better today than we were in January.  And that's thanks to Mr. Johnson.  Show some respect.

Respect is earned, not given - and you're the one that called him, a sixty year-old man, a youngster.

Would you be happier if we had Fitz or McCown still or a soon to be (August), 22 year old kid who led the entire league in QBR the last quarter of the season.

Would you be happier with Stevan Ridley at RB or Le'veon Bell, literally the best offensive free agent in football & only 27 years old?

Would you be happier if we kept Lee at MLB instead of signing the best Defensive free agent in the draft, a 4 time pro bowler in Mosely?

Would you be happier with Kearse still here instead of Jamison Crowder? How about Buster Skrine instead of Poole?

Did you know that Trumaine Johnsons DC was once Gregg Williams?

Did you know that before Ty Montgomery fumbled that kickoff that pissed Mike McCarthy off, he filled in at RB (running between the tackles), RB to the outside & caught 44 balls out of the backfield just 2 short years ago & he's still only 26 years old.

Also Quinnen Williams was reported by MANY to have some of the best college tape at DT since Aaron Donald? The 49ers taking Bosa was probably the best thing that could happen to us.

I just find it hard to not get excited about this upcoming season. We have leaders on the sideline, a leader at QB, on the Dline, at LB, at safety. It's like a complete culture change. Guys will want to show up for camp here & be part of this upward trend for the team. Like Sam Darnold was asked after being drafted, Sam, what can we expect from you? "A LOT OF WINS!"

And I believe him & can believe in the team as a whole with Bowles & Macc jettisoned.

So, this is all CJ's good work and we should just overlook the last two years because he's a youngster who was learning on the job, an intern as it were, and ownership is not the Jets problem. Wow!

60 is young for an NFL owner, most of them are pushing 80.

Mr. Johnson was not incompetent, he was new at his job.  He let Bowles and Maccagnan do their jobs because he wasn't qualified to interfere at that time.  Here 2 seasons in, guess what, he knows what he's doing and he's asserting himself.  Got the HC he wanted.  Got the DC he wanted.  Got the FA's he wanted.  Got the draft he wanted.  And, most importantly, he flushed the potheads and the malcontents off the roster and the slowpokes out of the front office.  Culture change.  Long overdue.

    SAR I

If that's your rationale and what you want to believe, fine. I can't wait until he grows up.

Are the Jets in better shape in May 2019 than we were in May 2017?  Do most of us think we are have 8-8 talent and with a few wins from competent, professional coaching and creative offensive playmaking perhaps a playoff team?

That's CJ demonstrating his competence.  That's CJ demonstrating a CEO who is learning and growing on the job.

    SAR I

Until we see the results, i.e. wins, there is no way of knowing if we are in better shape.

Also, we are supposed to overlook CJ's incompetence from May 2017 to May 2019, because he's "growing"?

What is he, a 60 year old plant? Then again..

You realize that CEO's don't hang out on yacht's drinking champagne all day, right?

Christopher Johnson is young and energetic and involved in all aspects of the $3 billion dollar family business that he has been entrusted to run.  Woody didn't hire a new CEO and a President of Football Operations and name his brother "owner in absentia".  He named his brother CEO and CEO's are knees-deep in all the major decisions.  If you really think that CJ didn't authorize the blockbuster trade with the Colts last year to grab Sam, the hiring of Adam Gase, the hiring of Gregg Williams, the blockbuster signings of Osemele, Bell, and Mosely you need your head examined.  CEO's make all the big decisions.

    SAR I

CJ is 60 years old, and because he is "involved in all aspects of the $3 billion dollar family business" doesn't make him competent.

The only thing new to me is the Paradis info.

Last I heard, Paradis and his agent had no interest in NY and just wanted to shop offers to less urban teams.

Was Paridis really considering the Jets?

And wasn't there concern about Paradis physically?

In 6 days as “interim GM,” Adam Gase has:

    1) Traded away a former 1st round pick for a 2020 6th-rounder

    2) Signed a punter he had in Miami

    3) Cut a 2017 draft pick

    4) Fired a scout & told people he wants to cut down scouting staff

He insists publicly he only wants to coach

By the time they hire a GM he will have shaped the roster to his liking and, if he continues, remake the scouting staff - but he just wants to coach.

Realistically, he’ll be a guy that Gase has an input choosing, which means they’ll be on the same page from square one. That can’t be any worse than the previous GM situation if you ask me.

Secondly, I don’t think Gase wants a yes man. I think he wants a strong personality who can get on the same page with him offensively and by offensively I mean actually, you know, rebuilding the OL and getting Sam targets. Gase seems like a guy who wants his voice to be accounted for well but I don’t think he wants to give a GM a laundry list and tell him to run his errands(offseason wishes)

Gase is an alpha male, alpha males don't like other alpha males.

Don't lose sight of the fact that Chris Johnson is a seriously "woke" owner.  There might be some social justice or #MeToo issue going on here for all we know.  I do know if it's a cover for Gase that I would NEVER play poker with him.  He sounded genuine to me when he spoke about the Macc issue at that last press conference...

Sociopaths are some of the most sincere people you will ever meet.

  11. I don't believe that a rift between Mac and Heimerdinger led to them both being fired but rather is a nice excuse for getting rid of them both and clearing the way for Gase's guy. This is especially likely if Gase was, as has been reported, Johnson's guy.

I was never much of a Geno fan, as folks know, but I still have to +1 this post.

The Geno pick wasn't a bad pick.  Geno just turned out to be a bad, immature, person.

    The Hack pick....whoah.

Isn't that what the combine interviews are for - to identify bad, immature prospects?

Best sack artist Jets ever had. Could have been HOF.: Stratham would never have broken his record if Farve didn’t hand it to him and Strahan, like the jerk he is, acted like he broke the record which he DIDN'T. That last sack should never have counted! In my eyes Gas holds the all time sack record in a  year.

It's always burned my a** how Strahan was handed the record by the Packers and no one said a word. I've always felt that the NFL just wanted to get Gastineau out of the record book and didn't care how.
