thats six so far. And I agree with @More Cowbell  paid league keeps people motivated. I suggest $40-50 entry fee, winner takes 60%, runner up at 30% and first ranked team during regular season 10%. Draft on 09/03 or 09/04 in the evening (when kids go to bed).

Anyone agree with that? Other suggestions? We need at least 4 more if not 6 more players.

    Entry fee works for me

Remember the Levy/Kelly Bills and the run and shoot offense?  The K-Gun?  Imagine that with two Thurman Thomases.

When you have 3 WR’s, 1 TE, and 2 RB’s who can catch the ball and break tackles under the command of a HC Peyton Manning calls “a genius” and a pocket QB who is at his best moving a little and doing improv, gulp.

    Holy sh-t.

This exactly. I  believe Gase is going to run this uptempo offense and it has the same principles as the K-Gun with added dimensions, which I hated playing the Bills knowing Reed, Thomas and Lofton were going to carve up the Jets all game long.

I've been saying Kaare Vedvik for months.  Could become the Jets long term star kicker.

    4-4 last night.  55, 46, 29, and 26 yarders.

This! He will be the Jets kicker. Obviously no chance to make the Baltimore team and obvious Baltimore connection with Douglas

    1. Parcells

    2. Douglas

Parcells was great short term. Left the Jets in cap hell, pushed belichick to leave possibility and definitely caused the Jets to miss out on Peyton Manning tho long term.  Had the Jets drafted Manning Belichick doesn't leave. But regardless of all that, this was a fantastic hire for the Jets!! Douglas hopefully is a great as we all hear and hope he is.

It is, in fact, a fact.  Don't act like this guy wasn't just a failure of a head coach in our own division.

    We can't and shouldn't assume nothing -  He's a known quantity.

A failure? No, a disappointment..ok I'll give you that. He endured QB injury and just plain poor play from the most important position in sports. He did make the playoffs once and actually had a serviceable record. Hopefully for our sake he learned from his mistakes like all of us hopefully do when we mess up. This a microcosm of larger issues we face in society to label him a known commodity and then label it as a fact. Belichick failed in Cleveland, the Pats fans sure are glad they didn't assume he was a known commodity. If you want to die on the hill that he will fail, go right ahead, but to label him a failure I'd just so short-sighted.

The big problem what people liked about his nastiness with reporters is also the way he treats his players.

I know a lot of you like this guy but he’s going to be a disaster here.

For you to definitively state this is as fact is as just as hyperbole as those saying he will most definitely lead the Jets to a SB. Let's assume nothing and just see what happens. I personally feel positive about this situation, but it is still in the honeymoon phase as far as his relationship with the roster goes.

    First up...

    • With Kyle Murray going first to the Cards and the Niners taking Nike Bosa, the Bucs are drooling at the opportunity to nab Q to replace Gerald McCoy.  Knowing he won't make it past the Raiders, the Bucs trade #5, #39 and #70 to the Jets for #3 and #93.  Mac selects: Montez Sweat, Erik McCoy, Rock Ya-Sin and Andy Isabella in the first three rounds.  In a separate post-draft trade, Mac sends Darren Lee to the Bucs for Gerald McCoy and a 2020 fourth round pick.  Jets fans can rest easy now that they know it was indeed Bowles who pushed for Lee in round one four years ago.

    Next up...

    • The Falcons are looking to get back into contention and are frustrated with the Grady Jarrett negotiations.  In a stunner Mac trades #3 to Atlanta for #14, #45 and Jarrett.  Mac then selects Greedy Williams, Connor McGovern, Justin Hollins (EDGE) and Andy Isabella in the first three rounds.  Fans go wild!  Half good wild, half bad.

    And last and least

    • Murray goes first to the Cards and with little time remaining on the clock, Dan Snyder goes all-in on Haskins and gives Lynch and the Niners a boat load of picks to move up to #2.  Gettleman is beginning to panic as his plan to surprise the NFL by taking Drew Lock at #6 is unexpectedly in jeopardy.  He's on the phone with Gruden who is screaming "Who's your daddy now!" at Gettleman.  After Mayock shoves Chucky's meds down his throat, he and Gettleman agree on a trade provided Drew Lock is there at #4.  Surprise!  Mac has made a deal with Elway and trades #3 and #93 for #10, #41, #71 and Courtland Sutton, WR.  Mac then selects Brian Burns, Elgton Jenkins, Amani Oruwariye and Mitch Hyatt in the first three rounds.  P.S. - Gettleman has an ace up his sleeve and plans on taking Daniel Jones at #17 but the Raiders trade up to nab him before the G-Men do.

I love the thought process! These are all possible at the end of the day. This board loves to hate on anything off the beaten path, but the amount of time taken on these scenarios is respected here! Well done.

After that Bryce Harper contract, gotta say Murray is dumb as sh*t for picking football.

Murray is not in the same ballpark or the same type of player Harper is and its not close. He is a slap hitter with above average defensive skills and great speed who "could" develop some pop. The chances of him getting insane money like Harper who is a franchise player are far, far slimmer than decent QB money which is trending on more and more guaranteed money i.e Cousins. If Murray played RB or WR then yes, baseball might have been better choice.

  9. If the QB's test out really well...like they clearly would have given this mock, there is no way teams like the Giants, Jags, Broncos and maybe Bengals wait. They will look to move up, hopefully the Jets can find a willing partner to trade back.

Montana was a pure pocket passer

Darnold is best extending plays and throwing on the run

    Big ben

Actually Montana was excellent at maneuvering within the pocket and throwing on the run, this is similar to Darnold in the way that he avoids the rush and looks for open receivers downfield.
