  1. For all moneys being equal Jenkins. He knows system , had a good season, appears to want to be a Jet, seems to be a good teammate and locker room guy and he’s younger
  2. Very true. Haven’t had emphasis on o line since Rex. Good teams have ability to win games with an average or above average QB if they can run ball consistently And possess a stout defense and as long as league is in existence that will never change
  3. Knight. That’s the way it has been done ever since the league has been in existence. Oline to protect QB and also to have the ability to run the ball that also protects the QB. I would argue that the ability to run the ball is the most important thing an offense can do as it helps entire team. Keeps the defense fresh and also controls the game
  4. Wonder. All true but last year he was starting to show signs of age. He looked great early in season as the Patriots played a bunch of tomato cans masquerading as NFL teams but as season went on and he played better teams and in my opinion he really started to look old
  5. SAR. Don’t believe Brady will retire. His ego won’t allow it. Wants to prove that he made Belichik and not that Belichik made him. (i never thought of the scenario you brought up but is entirely possible) But I also feel he is finished and although this won’t be a Joe Namath and the Rams bad it will be plain to see that Father Time will remain undefeated
  6. Don’t think Brady has one good year left let alone three. I believe teams will start loading up the defenses close to line of scrimmage against Brady as I don’t think he has the arm to throw the long ball with any consistency. It will be similar when teams played against Pennington when they realized he couldn’t throw a decent ball longer than 20 yards. Should be interesting to watch this play out
  7. Don’t think Clowney is any better than what is on roster now. Use available resources for O line help and hope that Quinnen Williams plays to his lofty draft position
  8. I normally don’t advocate trading the teams best player but this is a special situation. I would trade Adams but not for McCaffery but to whoever gives the most in draft picks and players. My reasoning is this Adams game changing plays normally come when he is up on the line and rushing the passer So if the Jets draft an edge rusher ( the kid from LSU I think his name is Kareem comes to mind) Adams really becomes expendable since the drafted edge rusher and Adams essentially play the same position. Parlay the high picks received into o line and receiver help and let Greg Williams work his magic on defense again. Also as many people have stated paying upwards of 15 million for a safety that is on a team that is probably two years away from being a viable playoff contender is in my opinion not a good idea. Money saved can be used for Darnold contract (provided he truly is the real deal) and or other needs that can be addressed via free agency
  9. Tom while this very true that Idzik was employed quickly I believe he was quickly hired for his cap acumen rather than his personnel decisions
  10. Ron Faurot. Another ill fated first round d lineman. Man was he terrible
  11. Freeman was a dam fine back. His 200 yard game against Bengals in the playoffs was fantastic. Bengals defense couldn’t tackle him for nothing that day. One of the best if not the best rushing games any Jet back ever had. His game the following week against the Raiders was a pretty good encore as well

  14. It’s not a bad game but I wonder if it can be sustained when injuries occur to the starters and talent level starts to drop
  15. 33 million for a middle of the road QB? Not a chance would I pay that kind of cash
  16. If I remember correctly there were 3 Jones boys on that team. Johnny Lam Johnny Ham but can’t remember the third one
  17. Unabashedly old school here I still believe in a dominant , game controlling run game ( loved the way niners ran the ball against the Packers ) efficient passing game with a top five defense. Has worked for as long as the league has been in existence
  18. SAR as with Max I hope you are correct but to go 5-1 in the division and going west and beating Rams is a tall order. 12-4 would be great but I think a competitive 8-8 is more realistic
  19. Max. I admire your optimism but it is going to take a year possibly two to right this ship. Plus right now the Jets have an extremely difficult schedule ahead of them so I am hoping that you are right but can’t see it happening. 8-8 to me would be a great accomplishment for this team
  20. Dam haven’t been to Spumoni Gardens in years. Love their pizza. Gastineau you have just inspired me to go to Brooklyn and hit Faiccos , Spumoni Gardens and possibly Rolling Roaster. For my Super Bowl viddles
  21. Don’t want Brady to leave just yet as I believe FatherTime has caught up to him and with the Patriots apparently on the decline. Want to see The Jets do too Brady & the Pats what they did to us the past decade or so.
  22. Crimson could not agree with you more. I have not bought a gallon of Hess gas or knowingly spent a red cent on any Hess product since he moved them out of NY
