  1. Jamal is all about self promotion and developing his celebrity status. On draft day I truly think he had visions of OBJ fame in NY. Problem is, in 3 seasons he has realized that he will NEVER be OBJ because no one gives a F about a Safety. No strong fundamentals wrap up tackle by the LOS is going to get the replays and attention of a one handed catch. secondly, he is realizing that on top of his inherent positional deficit, if no one cares about a box safety, no one REALLY cares about a box safety on a worst in the league team. Adams is dreaming of playing for the Cowboys.
  2. Mangini was the only coach I wasnt doing backflips to see walk out the door. When his last season ended, I remember half heartedly hoping he wouldn't be fired. Every other coach had me calling for their head a full season before they were canned. I for over mangini because I was really pumped about Rex... I think both Mangini and Rex could have been very good coaches for us if it wasnt for things other than their ability to coach. Letting Rex make his draft picks was Tanny's ultimate downfall. Imagine what we could have accomplished if Rex had nothing to do with drafting. we were a very good team with the players inherited from Mangini. With each passing year of giving Rex our first round picks, we got worse and worse.
  3. The NY Jets - "When you think it can't get worse." I've got another question - Would you take Tanny over every GM we've had since him? I would in a heart beat. Obviously we don't know anything about Joe D, but the Jets under Tanny were hands down more talented top to bottom than anything we have had since.
  4. Seriously. I dont know what he was like early in his career but I cant believe this guy still has a job. He knows nothing about anything going on in sports. He contributes nothing to the show other than his "woe is me", excessive histrionic bitching. Outside of his tantrums, he just agrees with everything Evan says.
  5. "Stars" on irrelevant teams don't get the same attention. On top of the fact that he was already never going to be the athlete celebrity that he thinks he is because he is a freaking safety. was listening to Joe and Evan today, they had an interview with Michael Irvin (who is apparently close with Jamal's dad). He said (paraphrasing) Jamal expected to go to Sanfran, his desire to play for the Jets came after Irvin told him what that city would do for him after foodball. Told him something along the lines of "You could be Strahan when you're done". This franchise was never going to be able to offer him the only things he really cares about.
  6. Then he could take the rest of the year off and still hit his season totals.
  7. Thought I heard them say during the game that Minshew was a 6th rounder?( Not that it matters ). I'm probably mistaken. Lately I find myself disassociating during the trauma.
  8. I think setting back his development isn't even a question anymore. Sam looks fundamentally worse than he did at any point during his rookie season. Last year Sam would make rookie mistakes but I felt like he always pretty quickly bounced back and corrected himself, to at least some degree. This year that bad play has become his norm. The mistakes are worse than last year and he doesn't seem to be showing the ability he had to brush stuff off and compose himself after he screws up. He doesn't look like the same player anymore. His development being stopped/thrown off isn't even a question. I'm getting seriously worried they are going to ruin the kid.
  9. I'm pretty sure this is sarcasm. You're being sarcastic, right?
  10. who in the f*ck could butt fumble this? @Ken Shroy Have you watched any games this season? This team is as bad, if not worse, than it was during any time during Bowels' years. Worse than our record or how completely uncompetitive they are is that Sam looks consistently worse than he did during anytime of his rookie year.
  11. Its really sad when you say it this way, but its 100% right. I've had Hope for Q every year, but he's done. He can't even make it through training camp. If he does (meaning he sat all camp and is ready for week 1) he won't see week 2. Time team needs starters EVERYWHERE. Dont go creating more holes that arent already there. We really want to go into the offseason needing 2 starting WRs? Have we forgotten Greg Salas?
  12. This. WR contracts are overinflated right now, just like seemingly every other position but I dont understand what outrageous, top WR contract people seem to think he is going to command. He has shown flashes but thanks in large part to being on a talentless offense with bad to mediocre QB's, he has never been able to really "break out". His entire career is literally based on that one year with Fitz, and he didn't even crack 1000yrds. I think a lot of us assume he is going to demand high end WR1 money but remember he is only a WR1 on this team by default. ideally Robby is a terrific #2 across from a more complete route running/possession reciever. Do we think Robby is going to get even the contract that the Jets (overpaid) Enunwa?
  13. This board and Jets fans in general are often so jaded and negatively biased to anything Jets, sometimes I find it interesting to see what fans of other teams think... If you read through recent responses to Robby's Twitter, its filled with fans of other teams screaming for him to be traded to their team. Fans are supposed to be overrating their own players. We have to be the only fan base that routinely hate our own players. This team has neglected the WR position for decades. When was the last time we drafted a productive WR? Coles? Moss? We luck out with an UDFA who is, maybe not a stud WR1, but very talented and so many Jets fans cant wait to ship him off for a bag of peanuts. I dont get it.
  14. I'll add this: The best draft this team has had in my lifetime was the Brick/Mangold draft in (I think) 06. Outside of 98, the most successful teams of my lifetime were the two AFC Champ Game years with Rex. That offense was built on a very good/possibly great oline, a really good RB and a couple very solid but unspectacular WR's. I personally think Sam is already a better/more talented QB than Sanchize during those years. Put Sam behind a real oline. Put Bell behind a real oline and get some talent on the outside that opposing teams need to account for.
  15. I do understand your logic/argument of taking another QB with the 1st-3rd overall pick that we will have next year because it is the most important position on the team BUT I dont think it's the right move for this team and here's why.... JD still needs to address the fallout fron the last two GM's neglect of crucial positions on this team, specifically the oline followed by offensive weapons. It is near impossible to full assessment of a QB with such little talent to throw to. It's really impossible for a young QB to develop and play to his potential behind one of the worst olines in the league. Throwing a young QB out there to get beat to hell behind a turnstyle oline is a great way to ruin his development and career. We've seen it before. My point being this; IMO, We've seen enough glimpses of what Sam can do to know the kid has talent. The top picks we'll have next year MUST be used to rebuild this oline and address neglected skill positions on the offense and impact positions on the defense. I'm not saying Sam didn't suck last night. He did. I'm personally no where close to giving up on the kid after last night, like some around here. But even if I was, I'm not spending top capital on another QB before we put an oline in place and get some talent on this team. What does Mahomes look like on this team? Would he have played like Sam did last night? probably not. But would he look anything like he has on a team with a solid oline, Hill and Kelce? No friggin way.
  16. Ah so this is where he sits out for another 2 or 3 weeks "injured". Why do I have a feeling there is a small army of coaching interns outside Sam's bed room door trying to coax the kid off his closet floor while he scrolls through Twitter in a fetal position.
  17. THIS! Mic up Jamal for christ sake since that's what he cares about.
  18. The second I saw that clip during the game I instantly felt what all the morning radio guys are yelling about - Who the **** thought it would be a good idea to let anyone put on a mic, letalone Sam?! Why on earth would you expose him like that. Sanchez is retired and the butt fumble still follows him. In a decade when Sam is washed out of the league after a career as a journeyman backup, this ghost bullsh*t will still be following him. I hate the god damn franchise
  19. Couldn't stop thinking about this thread since the opening drive of the game. Still feel slapped in the face/disrespected or whatever? The line for the first game was one of the bigger lines I've seen in a modern NFL game (think it was over 21 points). Pats lead by 30 most of that game. Vegas cleaned up when Beli benched Brady (never happens) and let his replacement pass the ball late in the 4th (really never happens). Line makers probably tempted a lot of people to take the Jets and the points coming off the Dal game. Vegas knows we cant beat this team or even keep remotely close
  20. You can give a f about the Vikings or dont, either way your point is still wrong
  21. K.O. was quickly my favorite signing of the offseason. I heard a few interviews with him and he is incredibly likable and seems like a really good guy. Point being, nothing about him comes across as a problem personality. He has underperformed this season and there have been talks of trading or benching him for weeks, I dont blame him one bit for wanting to protect himself and his prospects for next season with another team. The Jets don't care how surgery after the season negatively impacts his future after the Jets... K.O does.
  22. As I was watching the game I couldn't wait for this thread. I've never been the biggest Adam's defender but this kid has really brought his game to another level this season. Anyone still sh!tting on this kid is just bitching to bitch. Adams was EVERYWHERE and in on every single play. #PrezIsABEAST
  23. So, he is already looking better than 4+ years of Leo. Thank god for that.
