I predicted in a thread after the preseason New Orleans game that the Jets would win 7 games this year, 8 if everything went perfectly.  1/2 of the responses I got back agreed with me, and the other 1/2 said the Jets would win 9 or 10 or 11 games this year, and that I didn't know anything.

What has changed about this team from that time until now?  Yes, the injuries killed us, and we blew a game we should have won against the Bills at home.

Well, it seems that many of our players will be back this next Sunday, including Herndon who will give Darnold an extra target he didn't have at the beginning of the year.

The players and coaches have something to prove, and it is my belief that the mindset of the players will be emotionally high and we will see a different team at home this weekend.  The offensive line will have a reason to believe this game, and I believe that the level of play from this group will be different from the last couple games.

My advice:  Don't rule out the Jets just yet.  The Jets will not go 0-16, not even close.

I expect not 1/2, but the great majority of this board to tell me I am lost, but I don't go along with the crowd, I go by what I see.

    Aderall or molly ?

maneesh is just a little creep.  this is his game and has been for his whole career.  he builds them up just to knock them down.  if he likes the coach it's the players and vice versa.

Agreed.  But i do agree with his take on how incompetent Gase is.  And i was in support of the hire initially .

It's crazy how Sammy was able to persevere through what he did against Buffalo. Looking back it seems like it could be a defining moment in his career.

If I'm at ESPN, I'm already assembling the team to put together a 30 for 30 about "The Mono Game". Hell the parent company, Disney, should be looking to turn it into a movie. Think how many people would be inspired by his story.

Perhaps like me, they're just waiting for our Sammy to write the ending to the story. Is there anyone here who questions how the movie will end? This Sunday Sammy begins what will become his comeback for the Ages. I'm expecting our inevitable playoff run to start in Philly, with Sammy embarking on his MVP campaign while carrying the Jets on his broad shoulders.

He's back. He's ready. We're ready. LFGJ baby!!!!

Did you pop some Molly this evening?

He’s the best interior pass rusher in the nfl. He’s one dimensional though, gets destroyed in the run game pretty consistently. He’s a great player, but overrated.

Most analytic metric rankings have him as NFLs best overall player

Gase is not going to throw the OL under the bus. He's protecting the talent-less bums he *INHERITED* and has to live with this season.

Give JD and AG a chance to pick their own players, there is no magic wand where Gase can 'coach them up'. You can put lipstick on a pig but it'll always be a pig.

Gase was involved in picking players this offseason

My question is when does the never ending garbage that the Jets trot into the field end?

Is this truly the best a team that is representing the premier city in the premiercountry on the planet can be?

I will turn 56 next spring and in my lifetime I can only remember 4 "great" seasons....'86..'98..'09..and 2010. That's it. That's all. 4 seasons.

    What a mess.

Your right....  and in 09 we barely made the playoffs...

Weve only had 2 or 3 home playoff games in the last 40 plus years.... absolutely pitiful

2002 was pretty good.  We had a home playoff game and won that... then lost the next week...

Agree completely. We don't draft Dogs. Aggressive players. I rather have aggressive one like Burfict than the Leonard WIlliams's.

Since when was "dogs" referred to as a good thing.   My whole life when you referred to an athlete as a dog it meaned they were lazy and they sucked....

Was it the stupid Jamal.adams interview after week 17 last year?

"Although there's essentially zero chance the Jets make the playoffs..."

Fck you Daryl, you don't know the outcome of the season after 3 weeks. I remember back in the 80s we won like our first 6 or 7 games then lost our last 6 or 7 and still made the playoffs. Fck you Daryl, we've had 10 starters injured already. Yes Gase sucks....but we have good coaches on this staff also. Now I'm pissed.

Biggest positions of need when Mike McCagnan took over:

    outside Pass rusher

    #1 WR

Starting LT and at least one other strong olineman

    #1 CB

We have the QB and that is it.  Almost a wasted 5 years.  His 'success' picks are in positions that are not premium and easy to fill.

    Worse than John Idzik.

Agreed.  Macc will go down as pur worst GM ever....  he inflicted a lot of damage.  franchise malpractice ...

Has he found a new job yet?

Darnold will be better than all of them.  Let's revisit this at the end of the season.  People get crazy over a few games!  Daniel Jones is now Johnny Unitas!  Cmon man.

Sure......     Darnold is a hall.of famer.... relax everyone
