Yeah the Ravens and Eagles, why would we take someone that was trained under Ozzie Newsome.

Have a look at the players that were added while JD was with the Eagles.  And keep in mind,  you can work under an effective man/woman and observe them, but that is far from any guarantee.  Have a look at how Bill Belichick's assistants work out when they sail away on their own...

I understand you want to feel positive, but be mindful of who owns the Jets.

Johnson didn't have a job until he was 40 years old, and even then, he didn't have a superior to report to nor did he ever have to be accountable to anyone.   We are talking about a person with very little life experiences outside of his little bubble of privilege and inheritance...

For Johnson, having an NFL team is not about building a winner.  It is a conduit for him to cultivate a public identity.  He likes to mix and mingle with other people that he thinks adds to his grandeur.  Owning the Jets gives him that.

Look at the Jets management structure.  Look at the GM's that they hired.  Look at their current HC.  For f**k sake, give your brain a chance...

That’s right sign Conklin and Thuney and Vataii then draft lamb at 11 bang we have a offensive

Nooooo !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Conklin not dependable, too expensive and not needed.  Thuney no better than Harrison and or Compton and tooo expensive.

Draft Thomas, Wills, Wirfs for one OT spot and use Beachum for the other.  Draft a center/Interior lineman rounds 3-7.  That will be best cost and effective on the field.  It wont be a pro-bowl line at all positions, but it is a line that will work, and be economical which will allow them to build on handsomely in the years to come.

Too bad Gase sucks.... He'd f**K it up even if he had the Jets 2009-2010 line...

Is his only value tied to his sacks though?  He strikes me as a Calvin Pace type, helping to set the edge.  Pair him with a pure pass rusher on the other side and our defense looks a ton better.

    High quality of thinking here...

I know when the season ended the mood was bad despite the winning streak. People are down on Gase. But the sky hasn't fallen, there has been no players revolting in the media. There were a few complaints last year due to injury grievances; Osemele, Enunwa.

Is it possible that Joe Douglas and Adam Gase are on the same page? That they want to create accountability?

Joe Douglas is on the clock really soon. If they improve this offensive line I think Gase will officially be on the clock. I am open to the possibility that next year could be really good.  Are you?

Douglas is unproven and if you take a real good look at what he was involved in with respect to roster choices where he came from, I don't have much confidence in him.  As for Gase, we just have to wait for him to make a mess of it for another season before Johnson has no choice but to get rid of him.  From that point, we can only hope Johnson/Douglas blunders into hiring an effective HC.

What's good ??? There will  still be football on Sunday and there will always be individual players that are exciting to watch even while Gase blows another season straight out of his ass...

Who do you see as the Jets  starting OL for next season.

    LT- Andrew Thomas (R)

    LG- joe Thuney

    C- Tyler Biadasz (R)

    RG- Choma Edoga

    RT- Jack Conklin

Edoga may or may not work out on the inside. but he is NOT going to work out on the outside.  Thuney is no better than Harrison or Compton. I would not waste any money on Thuney.  One of the tackle spots will be held by Beachum and the other will go to the first round draft pick.  Two to three of the interior lineman are already on the roster.  One to two will be filled in the draft or perhaps one in the draft and one in FA.

LT; Thomas or Wirfs Or Wills

LG. Compton, Harrison or 5th to 7th round pick.

C; Harrison or 2nd to 4th round draft pick

RG. Compton, Harrison, Edoga or 5th to 7th round pick

RT. Beachum or FA or possibly 3rd rd to 4th round pick (this draft is VERY deep)

I seen the report saying he might come back. But i don’t like his play the past couple seasons. Also always injured.

Winters performed poorly the last two seasons and if I was the GM, Id save the cap money and let him go.  Still want to say of Winters... He did his best to soldier on and play with painful injury UNLIKE Osemele.  The medical staff told him he could play, but he decided not to.

Chase Young is a QB now? LOL  He does everything!

LOLZ... Yes, he is an edge guy, but he is going to go in the top ten WITH THE QB's.  So... 4 QB plus one edge is at least five teams not taking o-line before the Jets pick...

Then figure in the teams not likely to take a QB, O-Line OR be in position to take the edge guy....

  8. Ahhh... More good news.  Yet another QB is entering the conversation as a possible top ten pick.  It could be that all of the following get selected before 11

Burrow, Herbert, Tua, Jordan Love, Chase Young. (that's five spots filled in the top ten with QBs)

It is also unlikely that the Lions or Jaguars will be selecting an offensive lineman with their first overall pick.  (so that makes 7 teams in the top ten that will almost certainly not soak up *any* of the three top offensive lineman.

The Panthers may or may not take an offensive lineman. It is more likely that they will go defense.  That makes 8 teams that will be good to us :-)

And there is a good chance that one of the GM's for the Giants, Cardinals or Browns will be enamored with the measure'ables of Mekhi Beckton, hence... Leaving one of the top three offensive tackles for us <

Very good for the Jets.  Thomas or Wirfs or Wills will probably still be on the board at # 11.

Rumors are going to fly up until the draft and most will be untrue. I'm actually a big fan of Ruggs and I think he could be one of the best receivers in this class. He's not just a speedster but he has great hands, good size/catch radius, good route running, fights for the ball, makes the spectacular catches. He can pretty much do it all.

I'm not on board for this pick if a top OT is on the board, but if the Jets really like him and the top O-linemen are gone, I'm fine with Ruggs over Jeudy or Lamb if the Jets really felt like he was the right player for them.

Five scouting-combine performances that should intrigue the Jets: 1. LT Mekhi Becton. How well can a 369-pound man move? 2. WR Henry Ruggs III. Think Tyreek Hill. The Jets have had their eye on him for a while. 3. WR CeeDee Lamb. Curious about 40 time. Might not be as fast as other top WRs. 4. C Cesar Ruiz. Would be a steal in the second round. Can play guard, too. 5. RB D'Andre Swift. Fast and versatile. Would be nice complement to Le'Veon Bell.

One comment I want to add here about NFL WR's.  40 time is no where near as important as speed and quickness in pads during a real game and how aggressive the player is to the ball.  You want a good 40 time of course, but absolute flat out speed does not make a good WR.

Let's go Joe sign both of them!

Neither.  Conklin may have a hard time staying on the field, is not a good pass blocker and Thuney is not too far in advance than the interior lineman they already have.

Since Castonzo is going back to the Colts and Conklin is a probable waste of money...

    Do this.

Rely on Beachum for one of the tackle spots

Draft Thomas or Wirfs or Wills for the other tackle spot.

Use later rounds to add two more interior lineman.

That is how it should be...

I know we need a WR in the 2nd round, assuming we take an OT in the 1st, but damn, I'm really starting to like the idea of Felix Ruiz if he's still there.

This draft is going to see productive WR's taken all the way into round 4

It'd be pretty cool to have a center and a long snapper that are brothers. Make it happen Tanny.

Tanny ??? Does that mean you are suggesting that Tanny was prone to emotional reactionary draft and FA selections ??? I  know he was too much of a push over for Rex who destroyed his own tenure with the Jets by horrendous roster management, but I don't think Tanny was the driving force.  He was just the weak willed fellow that let a child go to the candy store on his own...

One can only hope he is not currently on the roster, and I'll leave it at that.😎

With the current state of affairs regarding the offensive line, the Jets will have to be looking everywhere including division III for manpower...

Sign Conklin and Thuney.  Overpay if you have to

Not Conklin.  Please, no.  Not dependable and a below average pass blocker.  Keep Beachum and draft Wills, Wirfs or Thomas.  it is OK to spend a lot of money on a OT *if* they deliver the goods, but signing Conklin is pissing away good money...  I was SOOOO hoping for Castanzo and pairing him with Thomas, or Wirfs or Wills... Sh*t !!! Pi$s !!! Damn !!!
