  1. I dont think this post is based in reality.  Let me go to your dreamland for a second..  so Zach is pretty good in this fantasy world but his evil offensive coordinator is just hindering his ability..  got it.  So at no time in this fantasy world does Zach just say.. "nah.. I am not doing this.. I am going to do it my way"... he apparently does not.. and he happily lets the evil offensive coordinator allow him to throw for.... ******checks notes****** 2 ******* yards?  Got it.

Or maybe... just maybe.. back here in reality... Zach sucks and he is making the offensive coordinator look like he doesnt know what hes doing.

hes more worried about getting sacked than finding open receivers and getting knocked on his butt

I have said it a million times on this board - he is terrified to get hit.  He is scared.  One of the Patriots DL players said it after the game yesterday.. something to the effect that once Zach feels pressure he takes his eyes away from downfield and goes into self protection mode.  That is literally how YOU and I would play if they made us suit up at QB for the Jets.   He is scared.  Plain and simple.

  3. More receipts from Saleh and Co.   Here we were weeks ago saying "why is Q going off the field?".. "tired of these player swaps".. Saleh clearly shows again, he might know what he is doing and some of us need to be a little more patient with the plans.  Myself included.

  4. I am relatively new here, I joined around the last year or 2 of Darnold.   I remember the back and forth between the pro-Darnold and anti-Darnold stuff.  This reminds me of that.

Question: So if you were anti-Darnold you have been proven to be correct.  He wasn't good.  Time has told us this.  So, do those people get a little credit for being right? Maybe they know what they are talking about if they say the same thing about Wilson?

Or does this board take the approach that they got lucky with Darnold and don't know what they are talking about with Wilson?

I think we should start a new star system here.  If you thought Darnold sucked and Wilson too.. and you are proven right in the future.. you should get 5 stars.  This way we can tell by their username (and the stars next to them) that this person might know what they are talking about.

Maybe we can avoid these debates in the future.

I am all for it.  I agree with me.

Jimmy G has a career completion of over 67% and career passer rating of over 91. He also has a 36-17 record.  There is nothing average about him.  And he has enough legs left he can be the starter for the next 10 years. Plus he'll be half the price of lamar.

No reason to go back to the draft well that hasn't worked  for us in the last 30 years.

I could not agree more. Signing Lamar is gonna cost a major dollar on our cap space.  Some of these young guys are not gonna get paid because of this - unless they go the Watson route and give it to him guaranteed.

Jimmy makes a lot of sense to me.

This thread is an example of the lengths that Zach jersey buyers will go to defend their purchase

Haha so true.. how anyone can watch that game and NOT think that Zach Wilson wasnt the reason we lost... well.. its beyond me.  I wish we had the days where criticism was allowed and you werent called a "doomer" or a "bad fan".

Watch the game like you do?  You act like you're the head of player personnel, when you really know nothing more than the rest of us.  Here's another thought.  Perhaps he's confused and not terrified?  He's already proven he's not afraid of getting hit.  Maybe the game hasn't slowed down for him yet.  Maybe he hasn't yet learned the ability of the defenses he's playing against, which is causing him to make bad decisions.

The only cure is experience.  He's either gonna learn and become a franchise QB, or he's not.  The fact remains the Jets are invested in him, and they won't be pulling the plug anytime soon.  They're waiting, just like the rest of us, to see how this plays out.  How long?  My guess is ZW is playing every game this season.  So, you might as well stop whining and complaining about the guy and start pulling for him instead.

Love the internet.   Waaah my opinion is the only one... waaaah.  Grow up.  I simply gave my opinion.. you  dont agree with it.  I was SHOCKED.. I mean SHOCKED that you call me out for not knowing more than the rest... yet you go right ahead and give... checks notes... oh right, YOUR opinion.  See how this works?

But also understand, there is something called nuance.. criticism... and guess what? you can STILL root for your team and offer criticism.  The world has lost that.. everything is black or white.. nothing in between.  So guess what? You can criticize awful QB play and STILL be a JET fan.  Can you believe that?

NOT saying the sky is falling doesnt make you any better than the rest of us.  You're just choosing to pretend Zach is good.  You'll get over it.

  8. I cant state this enough.. he is terrified out there.  Zach plays like you and I would if the Jets called us to Florham Park today.  Sure, it would be cool, but by Sunday we would sh*t our pants.  He knows he is allusive, he can get away, so for fear of actually dying, thats what he does.  He almost NEVER steps up in the pocket.  He does one read and is gone - even in clean pockets!  But it doesnt stop there - oh no - when he is gone, he runs backwards (away from everyone).  Guess what happens when you run the other way? You turn your head and can't see where everyone is!  Pure logic.  By the time you turn around, all your reads are gone.. people are nowhere where they need to be and they are running around, unscripted, trying to get open.

This is what Bart Scott was trying to tell you guys last year after the Titans game.  Everyone got on him back then for being sour after a great Jet win, but guess what? He was right.  And Zach is STILL doing the exact same thing.

So please, watch the game like I do, realize Zach is terrified out there and ALL your questions of why he does what he does will be answered.

  9. I’m loving the defense but losing Hall is huge. Faith in Zach has gone to negative numbers as he is just not passing the eye test for me. I would love for him to be that guy but damn… I don’t know.
It feels like the rest of our wins are going to look like today

  10. I usually give a qb at least 2 years but this is not it. He plays scared. He never steps up in the pocket and plays like he is afraid to get hit. Accuracy is not there.. I think the only positive I can give is he’s allusive. Even then he doesn’t throw the ball away when he should. Never been more down after a win than I am now.

  11. This is why I get lost in GM conversations.  I will never understand how a GM is tied to the QB he selected, and if said quarterback does not work out, the GM is gone too.

I love JD.  I think he has done a tremendous job, but I still hear "If Zach doesnt work out then JD is gone".  JD put together the other 52 players as well.  Granted the QB spot is the most important but if you put together an amazing team of talent - couldnt you just plug in a FA QB or draft another?  Why is it all or nothing?

Furthermore, with the exception of his first draft, the man has been killing it.  I think most of us can look at the talent assembled above and realize this guy knows what he's doing.  Most of us agree and cheer his moves on draft night.  But if one out of 53 doesnt work out.. get rid of him.  I will never get it.

It's funny - two weeks ago many were asking for Saleh's head. Culture is BS. Receipts was stupid. He was too stoic and then he was a buffoon getting pumped up on the sidelines. Ulbrich was the worst DC ever.

Many were ready to get rid of JD just so we could go all in on Sean Payton. Let's reboot 3 games into Saleh's second season. We were going with a coach that was burnt out and needed time off. We went that way with Parcell's and after a few years he got tired.

I am afraid when we loose some games, we are going to be back into this nonsense all over again.

So you're saying that the internet is filled with people with crazy 0-100 takes that swing wildly from one direction to the next????

    No. No way.

Why those teams and not us?

GreenBay - HOF fame QBs Farve and Rodgers

Tampa - Elite generational defense (02) then HOF QB Brady

Arizona - fluke year got them to Superbowl otherwise they've done nothing spectacular over the last 40 years (Also HOF QB Warner)

Seahawks - Elite defense and HOF QB Russ

Colts - Great defense and HOF QB Manning

Bengals - Burrow had an elite year.  He could be one of the next great QBs but their superbowl run could also be a fluke like the Cards.

    Sense a pattern?

Thats proving my point.. all these organizations were considered just as bad, if not worse, than the Jets.  All blind squirrels.. but they found the nut.. wether by accident or not... they found it!   We, on the other hand, never ever ever find anything.
