Head to head
-
We always end the season with threads like this one. It's just usually who do we need to win/lose in order to improve our draft position😂
-
So an injury report on an OT and backup TE translates to MW having a good game? All that time spent supporting ZW really honed your knack for irrational rationalization, didn't it?
-
Not the most accurate comparison. Jimmy G was a 2nd round pick who played 6 games in 2014 (QBR 101.2) and 6 games in 2016 (QBR 113.3) and was 26 when traded (2 years younger than MW would be). IMO White would have to do more than "have a few good games" to garner the attention/excitement Jimmy G did . . .

Crazy stat for Garrett Wilson and Elijah Moore
OCCH23 replied to jetstream23's topic in NY Jets Forum
So in your opinion Moore reacted better than the rest of the team who chose to not lash out/demand to be traded? -
For the Pats to get to 10 they'd need to win at least 2 of Bills (x2) Dolphins Bengals If they do that, at least it will help the Jets on the other end . . .

Fixed . . .

Pretty sure this is Mike Whites team now
OCCH23 replied to St Louie Jet Fan's topic in NY Jets Forum
You would have to define "terrible". He would have to be historically bad for the team (or the fans) to regret the decision to move on from ZW. Right now the only regret I see is blowing the VERY winnable game against the Pats because they refused to make the move sooner . . . -

If we miss the playoffs it's because the CS didn't pull Zack against the Pats. You can't tell me MW wouldn't have been able to put at least one scoring drive together . . . -
assuming Garoppolo does not happen in offseason...
OCCH23 replied to Phillyjet's topic in NY Jets Forum
I'm pretty sure he can't be franchised (but I agree he'll probably be out of our price range) . . . -
Definitely one of the laziest comparisons out there, that I can only hope is presented to purposely push buttons. Zack did WAY less to help his team win against Buffalo than MW did to beat Cincy. If you (and others) cannot see that, I'd kindly ask you leave the football conversations to the grown-ups . . .

Will Mike White tie Zach's season TD pass total on Sunday?
OCCH23 replied to AFJF's topic in NY Jets Forum
Couldn't disagree more. People want to quote Zack's 5-2 record, but anyone with a SPECK of objectivity knows he got in the way of those wins more than helped cause them. If MW plays well, that's all he can do. If the team loses anyway, it's absurd to use that as a reason to downplay his performance. The ONLY reason he's going in is because the coaches think he will do a better job than ZW. If the rest of the team does its job, that should be enough to get the W . . . EDIT: My response wasn't taking this specific thread into consideration. I agree with you that it's not about White's stats as much as the final score . . . -
It's been proven time and again that coaching is more important than individual players. I can only hope JD shares that opinion . . .

Watching Daniel Jones Play is Getting Me Sick
OCCH23 replied to More Cowbell's topic in NY Jets Forum
We're currently saying how much "better" we'll be with Mike White at QB. You're nuts if you don't think Jones is a step up from him (making him three steps up from ZW) . . . -

There's a difference between having a better record and being a better team. The latter is what matters down the stretch of this season -

Disagree. He's average, which makes him light years better than anything the Jets currently have... -
Zach Wilson says he doesn’t feel like he let his defense down

Josh Allen put the Jet loss completely on his shoulders, and appeared sincerely disgusted with himself over it . . . -
I know this holds little value, but we're also a team that consistently comes out flat after bye weeks. Relatively speaking, this was probably above the mean (which is a scary thought, but probably true) . . .

This sounds great, but then why did he go 23/27 and 246 yards against a supposedly dominant defense? I'd rather give the kid some credit than say some bum played well against us . . . -

But I'd argue part of that is because there was no surrounding cast to work with. Can you point to a Jets team that had this much talent around the ball and DIDN'T win its share of games? -

The funny thing is, I'm not even ready to say "move on" yet. The kid has talent and he's cheap enough to keep around. But can we at least have a viable back-up for games like today? When it's SO clear the kid doesn't have it? We'll know something's up if there isn't a legitimate QB competition in camp next year . . . -

OCCH23 replied to Maxman's topic in NY Jets Forum
I know emotions are probably too raw to appreciate this right now, but I don't see how any team in the division has the chance at improving as much as we can next year with simply competent QB play. It might be pouring today, but the future is still pretty bright (if JD does his job) . . . -

This is like seeing Bigfoot -- I didn't think a Zack supporter still existed. So you think Mac Jones had a bad day ONLY going 23/27 for 246 yards against a SUPPOSEDLY superior defense? You think one bad play from the Special Teams negates a DOZEN bad throws/decisions from ZW? You think the plays that were called were SCRIPTED to go 10 feet over people's heads? You think the wind only blew when ZW was on the field? That BB "turned it off" so Mac Jones could complete 85% of his passes? You think the past 10 years (where the Pats were CLEARLY dominant) explains why we can't beat them, now that WE are the clearly more talented team (on paper)? You want to spread the blame around, go ahead. But if you think ZW isn't the number one reason we lost, you're beyond all hope of any rational discussion . . . -

The coaches who left the kid in the game are. He could be sitting on the bench "learning" but no, let's throw him out there when he clearly isn't ready . . .
