  1. If we miss the playoffs it's because the CS didn't pull Zack against the Pats. You can't tell me MW wouldn't have been able to put at least one scoring drive together . . .
  2. Then you don't spend as much time on this site as you think you do . . .
  3. I'm pretty sure he can't be franchised (but I agree he'll probably be out of our price range) . . .
  4. Definitely one of the laziest comparisons out there, that I can only hope is presented to purposely push buttons. Zack did WAY less to help his team win against Buffalo than MW did to beat Cincy. If you (and others) cannot see that, I'd kindly ask you leave the football conversations to the grown-ups . . .
  5. Couldn't disagree more. People want to quote Zack's 5-2 record, but anyone with a SPECK of objectivity knows he got in the way of those wins more than helped cause them. If MW plays well, that's all he can do. If the team loses anyway, it's absurd to use that as a reason to downplay his performance. The ONLY reason he's going in is because the coaches think he will do a better job than ZW. If the rest of the team does its job, that should be enough to get the W . . . EDIT: My response wasn't taking this specific thread into consideration. I agree with you that it's not about White's stats as much as the final score . . .
  6. It's been proven time and again that coaching is more important than individual players. I can only hope JD shares that opinion . . .
  7. We're currently saying how much "better" we'll be with Mike White at QB. You're nuts if you don't think Jones is a step up from him (making him three steps up from ZW) . . .
  8. There's a difference between having a better record and being a better team. The latter is what matters down the stretch of this season
  9. Disagree. He's average, which makes him light years better than anything the Jets currently have...
  10. Josh Allen put the Jet loss completely on his shoulders, and appeared sincerely disgusted with himself over it . . .
  11. I know this holds little value, but we're also a team that consistently comes out flat after bye weeks. Relatively speaking, this was probably above the mean (which is a scary thought, but probably true) . . .
  12. This sounds great, but then why did he go 23/27 and 246 yards against a supposedly dominant defense? I'd rather give the kid some credit than say some bum played well against us . . .
  13. But I'd argue part of that is because there was no surrounding cast to work with. Can you point to a Jets team that had this much talent around the ball and DIDN'T win its share of games?
  14. The funny thing is, I'm not even ready to say "move on" yet. The kid has talent and he's cheap enough to keep around. But can we at least have a viable back-up for games like today? When it's SO clear the kid doesn't have it? We'll know something's up if there isn't a legitimate QB competition in camp next year . . .
  15. I know emotions are probably too raw to appreciate this right now, but I don't see how any team in the division has the chance at improving as much as we can next year with simply competent QB play. It might be pouring today, but the future is still pretty bright (if JD does his job) . . .
  16. This is like seeing Bigfoot -- I didn't think a Zack supporter still existed. So you think Mac Jones had a bad day ONLY going 23/27 for 246 yards against a SUPPOSEDLY superior defense? You think one bad play from the Special Teams negates a DOZEN bad throws/decisions from ZW? You think the plays that were called were SCRIPTED to go 10 feet over people's heads? You think the wind only blew when ZW was on the field? That BB "turned it off" so Mac Jones could complete 85% of his passes? You think the past 10 years (where the Pats were CLEARLY dominant) explains why we can't beat them, now that WE are the clearly more talented team (on paper)? You want to spread the blame around, go ahead. But if you think ZW isn't the number one reason we lost, you're beyond all hope of any rational discussion . . .
  17. The coaches who left the kid in the game are. He could be sitting on the bench "learning" but no, let's throw him out there when he clearly isn't ready . . .
  18. Which is why this is 100% on the coaches. The kid is shell-shocked -- expecting anything out of him right now is completely ignorance/stupidity. You put in White, or Flacco, or whoever is next in line. ANYONE has to be better than what this kid is doing right now. I don't need to hear excuses for why the kid failed, I want to hear why the coaches did . . .
  19. You guys can complain about the QB all you want. It's the CS/GM that thought we should go into the year with this kid as our only "real" option. We can't expect this kid to be something he's not. They should have been more prepared, but hopefully they learn from this experience (whether ZW shows improvement or not) . . .
  20. Especially after that SAMASH SMASH fluff piece. I can't imagine that's what he told them to do . . .
  21. Sometimes it honestly feels like our CS has no idea what it's doing. You call 3 TOs on defense, but then don't run a quick-hitter to the sideline? You just waste all 19 seconds on one play????? Maybe ZW just didn't do what he was supposed to, but man that's frustrating . . .
  22. The fact that you have to go back 2 decades to reference the last time we rooted for the Pats to win tells you all you need to know
  23. As hard as it will be to stomach, a win today allows us to root for the Pats against the Dolphins and Bills down the road (though I will still take pleasure in any Pat losses)
  24. So you'd rather lump both seasons together rather than notice this year was WAY better than last? I guess I'm not surprised, and it's probably going to be a while (if ever) before he produces at a level that will satisfy fans like you. Funny thing is, I'm still on the fence about the kid as well. I'm just not so defiant about it that I can't recognize the progress he's made . . .
