  1. Edelman is one of the bigger D-bags to be associated with the Pats….considering some of his teammates that’s saying something !
  2. For those of you interested in a version of this uniform, found this mock-up…not bad if I must say so.
  3. I feel like the Wentz/Rivera duo is underrated. Ron Rivera seems like a very quiet but very tough man to me.
  4. Actually I was referring to your singer/song writer/Rockstar past and touring Germany.
  5. I legit want to know more about this little blurb !
  6. While not my favorite logo, I do like this mock-up. I like the white helmet gray face mask combo. I’d rather the classic look be brought back and done correctly but I wouldn’t be upset with something like this.
  7. As another poster noted there seems to be a uniform thread every few months….and there’s a reason for that. That being said, this mock-up tends to make its way into all those new uniform threads….and there’s a reason for that too. That jersey is excellent, I wonder though if the sleeve stripes might not translate though with the way many players wear their jerseys and pads.
  8. I’d be shocked if the Cowboys aren’t part of the SNF opener.
  9. Very good observation on Cager…it would appear his easiest path to making the team would be at WR. Our LBs, or lack thereof, is still frightening….but they must have seen something in the guys we got. Or there will be UDFA or vet additions to come. We have ALOT of defensive linemen.
  10. Precisely….no coach, just forfeit the season. He had a similar take years ago when we acquired Brandon Marshall….essentially saying we had no QB so there wasn’t any point to acquiring other pieces. I know his job is to get viewers/listeners and riling up Jets fans is a good way to do so but that doesn’t erase any of his overall dooshbaggery.
  11. Colin Cowherd might be the most punchable human being on Earth. As soon as I hear/see him I just want to attack him.
  12. As this draft process plays out, I find myself liking Burks more and more. Just a feeling I have about him…
  13. My question is, what percentage of pre-draft visits from previous years did we actually draft? In other words, do these visits provide any indication on our team’s thinking or plans ?
  14. This whole time I’ve been on the London and/or Watson bandwagon. But I’m getting cold feet and now suddenly I’m falling for Burks and Pierce.
  15. In 2000 I thought our 5th round WR Windrell Hayes would make our 3rd round WR Laveranues Coles cuttable. In 2004 and 2005 I was convinced we had the steals of the draft when CBs Derrick Strait and Justin Miller fell to us in the 3rd and 2nd rounds.
  16. Honest question regarding Cooks, why has he been on so many teams? I know he had concussion issues at some point right? He’s been on 4 teams in 8 seasons, and he’s had a 1000 yard season on ever team. So the production is there, but why doesn’t he stick anywhere he goes? I’ve never heard that he’s a bad teammate or a bad guy and I’m not insinuating anything, but it’s a valid question. When I see 4 teams in 8 years, it kicks up a red flag to me….be it deserved or not.
  17. Totally agree….correct me if I am wrong, Cole and Crowder made 10 million together last year right? I think Berrios is worth the average of the 2 of them.
  18. I think he stays. I have nothing to go on besides a gut feeling….we’ll overpay a bit to keep him but my gut says he stays.
  19. When the inevitable merging of threads occurs, can we please keep this thread title?
  20. Pretty tough to sign free agents BEFORE FREE AGENCY BEGINS.
  21. Yes you are correct about an entire new set of uniforms, however the second helmet to be worn with an alternate, color rush, throwback uniform does not fall under this 5 year policy….here is the official memo the NFL sent to teams.
  22. A very nice explanation on John Franklin Myers (Edwards) from the “5 Jets misconceptions” thread. Credit to @LIJetsFan for posting the article. Misconception #4: John Franklin-Myers mailed it in after signing his contract John Franklin-Myers signed a four-year, $55 million contract extension with the Jets after their fourthgame of the season. Most observers agreed it was a great deal for the team at the time, but when a player gets paid, he puts a target on his back. Some fans started to get critical of Franklin-Myers after he signed his new deal. They claimed he mailed it in and stopped producing at the same level. That really isn’t true at all, though. Through Week 4, Franklin-Myers had 17 pressures on 108 pass-rush snaps for an incredible pressurerate of 15.7%. For reference, the 2021 league average for edge defenders was 10.2%. However, much of that production came in an explosion of a Week 4 game against the Titans in which Franklin-Myers had nine pressures, whichamounted to a season-high. Over his three games prior to the Tennessee outburst, Franklin-Myers had a solid pressure rate of 11.4% and averaged 2.7pressures per game. That is about exactly the same level of production that Franklin-Myers amassed post-contract. From Weeks 5-18, Franklin-Myers averaged 3.0 pressures per game on an 11.1% pressure rate. Ultimately, Franklin-Myers finished the year ranked 18th among edge defenders with 53 pressures. That’s pretty much exactly what the Jets are paying him to be. The $13.8 million average annual value of his contract ranks 23rd-highest among all active contracts for edge defenders. I think the fact that Franklin-Myers’ extension came after the Tennessee game set expectations way too high for him. That was an incredible performance and arguably the best of his career. The timing of Franklin-Myers’ extension led many fans to start comparing him against a standard that would be unrealistic to expect him to maintain. In reality, Franklin-Myers continued to perform at a level that lines up with what the Jets expected from him based on the contract they gave him.
