Welp I will have to do some catching up on the jets in about 2 weeks time as I am heading off to the west coast of British Columbia and 'going off the grid' to do some hiking with my young fit nieces and nephews.  I have to hope I do not embarrass myself hiking wise.  The good news is the 2nd half of the trip we have rented a house on the west coast of Vancouver island and the house is like a block from their local brewery.

Moutain Lions on vancouver Island....be careful hiking

  2. I'm all for tanking for darnold.

im exhausted. The 2016 team broke me. This summer will suck, and, as a jets fan, summer was the only happy time-full of false hope and false bravado. Summer was all we had.

as far as Howard? Meh..he looks good, even very good, but I really want Jamal Adams but all indications seem to be he'll be gone.

and, as Jetster posted, we HAVE ignored impact players on offense. I'm all for Dalvin Cook at 6...maybe a pick like that will resuscitate my August.

So he is worth the 6th overall pick, since he can replace Lee and play some iron-man football and cover a tight end, since Lee couldn't cover a hot dog with mustard.

Since we're on the subject, I don't think I would be unhappy with the Alabama ILB, Reuben Foster, as the choice at 6 either.

im sure picking foster would be a trade down scenario, but if he IS the teams target, I would not be unhappy.

  4. Just watched Greene's "A Football Life" in NFLN.

Doesnt make him a great coach, but the episode was awesome.

So I'm happy with this hire. Our pass rush and our OLBs have been non-existent for as long as I can remember.

    As is safety, RB, ILB.

    Yeah.

The value at 6 for those positions is terrible, but it doesn't mean you won't draft Sean Taylor, Ezekiel Elliot, or Ray Lewis.

Sometimes you're forced  into a corner with value, but end up with a beast. I hope that happens to us. I can't remember a time it ever did (ha!), but the sun shines on a dogs ass every once in awhile, right?

Are these safeties tempting anyone else? Someone who could cover would be nice.

    I like the safeties.

If the LSU kid is Sean Taylor, take him please.

I like the WRs too. Marshall is nice but, meh, I'm sick of him.

Im fine with a trade down for the 2nd tier OLBs, too

    I'll take Cook over Fournette.

Me too. Love cook. Fournette runs like he wants a short NFL career.

I voted for the LSU safety. Ha. I'm enamored.

as far as the Browns are concerned? Trade down for Ohio HS legend Trubinsky?

if I was the browns, I'd take the pass rusher. My biggest fear is they trade the pick for garrapolo and the pats take the pass rusher.

edit: sorry about the browns-talk ... I got interrupted mid-post and I guess I forgot what thread I was in.
