  1. Has the pitching been great during this stretch? Nope, not by any means. Like I have been saying all season the lineup was holding this team back. Now finally we have a set lineup with Giambi at first and Bernie/Rueben/Tino as the DH. The hitting has finally come around. We have to settle with the pitching that we have, which is average. But if we can continue to hit like this team was supposed to, we have a legit shot at winning the division.
  2. John Flaherty needs to be behind the plate for the rest of the season. He threw out more guys today than Posada has the last three seasons. We already know were not getting any offensivce production from our catchers anyway, might as well have some defense.

  4. The mighty Red Sox Nation is crumbling. The Yankees are surging, the lineup is finally coming around. Prepare for a massacre in Fenway.

    Fire Willie!

Becketts hurt again, I guess the Marlins could be a possiblity. The Mets are not trading him though. He's the one thing they have going for them right now.
  7. No one's been saying(at least from what I've been seeing) that Melky Cabrera is going to be a star. No ones even saying that Cano is going to be a star. This is what's said of David Wright, "oh this kid has star written all over him" Is he a nice player? yes. Superstar? Wayyyy too early to tell. He's been an average hitter this season and below average in the field.
  8. which makes him better than Jeter, correct?
  9. Sure, havent you ever watched Tilt?!?!?!?!
  10. Nobody knows who Jose Reyes is beside Met fans.
  11. Tom, on the offesnive end I agree about Chandler. Is he a bust in terms of his high slection? Absolutely. But... He can have a role on a team. He rebounds and can block shots plus he's athletic. Get someone to teach him some toughness and he could end up being a pretty nice player. He's only 22.
  12. My position by position comparision: 1st Base- Giambi vs. Millar - Right now, Wash. If Giambi continues his hot streak into the 2nd half then the nod goes to Giambi. However, Millar has a knack of killing the Yankees so this is closer than it should be. Advantage - Wash. 2nd Base- Cano vs. Bellhorn- Cano has been a pleasant surpise this season. In a biased opinion, advantage - Yanks. Short Stop - Jeter vs. Renteria - Jeter's the better player. Period. Overrated by some? Yes. A better looking Miguel Cairo? Please. Renteria's a solid player, but the edge goes to Jeter. Advantage- Jeter. 3rd Base- Arod vs Mueller. No comparison. Advantage-Yanks. Right Field- Sheffield vs. Nixon. Sheffield's a bonafide star, Nixon's a good player with a superstar sized mouth. Advantage- SHeffield. Center Field- Bernie vs Damon. No comparision. Bernie......JK, Damons one of the best CF's in the game, he takes this in a landslide. Advantage Damon. Left Field- Matsui vs. Ramirez. Now MAtsuis a great player, but he's not a superstar. Manny is. Top 5 hitter in the game. Advantage- Ramirez. Designated Hitter- Tino/Sierra vs. Ortiz- Not even close. Advatange Ortiz. Starting Pitching- It's a wash imo I dont feel like typing anymore. Bullpen- SLight advanatge Yankees due to Rivera. Manager -Take a pick. There you gou
  13. not to mention dumped his wife for Sheryl Crowe
  14. Do you dislike the most? Feel free to offer more, these are just a few off the top of my head.
  15. How can it not be? I know the Yankees have sucked and I have admitted it on several occasions. If the Mets miss the playoffs it should be considered a bust. You think next year this team will be any better?
  16. In my lifetime of watching baseball I have never seen a better hitting duo than Manny Ramirez and David Ortiz. Both of these guys are absolute hitting machines. I just hope the Yankees will one of these days learn not to pitch to Ortiz anymore.
  17. If the Mets miss the playoffs, it has to be considered a complete bust of a season.
  18. 1. USC Nothing else matters after that.
  19. Schilling is like 900 pounds and has a "bum" ankle.
  20. Could you imagine this mess in NY? Hanging with Stephon and Crawford. Good lord. Say no to Kwame. Make an effor for Tyson Chandler or Dalembert. No Jalen Rose either. If Stephon Marbury is a cancer than Jalen Rose is the bubonic plague.
  21. Find one person who has said the Yankees are back.
  22. 4 in a row is nice. The Orioles have crumbled, which everyone knew was going to happen sooner or later. An act of God has allowed the Yankees to still be in this thing. Id like to be 2 games back of the Soc by the All Star break allowing a clean slate from there. Things we need to have happen for the Yankees to make to the playoffs. Randy Johnson needs to become a consistent pitcher. The days of him dominating 95% of his starts are over. He just can not afford to have those 4 inning 12 hit outings. Carl Pavano needs to grow up and just plain pitch better. Stop making silly mistakes that cost the Yankees the game. Mussina's been good, not specatacular. We know what were getting from him. Rivera's been great after the rough first series against Boston. I was wrong about him. Gordon still makes me nervous. Wang has been great. Seriously, where would we be without this guy? Hopefully he can keep it up and keep the Yankees in ball games. Lineup wise, we just need to become much more consistent. Jeter's had a good year and Cano's developing into a solid 2nd baseman. Arods having a great year as is Sheff and Matsui. Whats gotten into Giambi? He's earned his spot as the every day first baseman. The guy gets on base and has had somed pretty clutch hits for us. Posada sucks. Platoon him and FLahery. Womack is useless unless he's pinch running. Him and Bernie in center I guess is the way we'll be going. Bernies bat is ok I guess. Tino as a defensive first basemen is nice to have in close games late. Ruben and him can DH. Hopefully the Yankees can keep this up and keep the bats alive.
