  1. Somebody needs to tell the Yankees they cant just punt on August and that home field advantage is important

Abreu is in there pitching, blowing game after game, while Marinaccio and Schmidt are in the minors - both infinitely better than Abreu.

You just cant make this stuff up.

And now they trade for Benintendi, who starts hitting the ball really well the past few days, and decide they cant start him vs a LHP.

The roster mismanagement year after year is just mind boggling. I havent order the direct TV game package in years.

No offense to you personally, but this statement is dumb.

So catchable balls is not a real thing? Ball placement and touch is not a thing??

Zach threw alot of ugly passes that hit WR hands last year. It doesnt make them the right type of pass just because a WR got 1 hand or even both hands on it. It's called ball placement and touch.

from someone actually at the scrimmage, it’s on the WR’s not Zach

Nice. Did you watch the whole season last year?

I'm not saying every drop was Zach's fault. Sometimes the WRs just botched it.

What does that mean?  The playoffs were full of off target throws.   But the WRs caught them.

In certain situations, you have to put more or less zip or arch on a pass. Ball placement is also a factor.

Zach struggled badly in those areas last year.

With the way Perraza has been playing in the minors it’s past time for him to get called up.

And you just know there's almost no chance they make this move too. They are more concerned about options to prevent them hitting free agency earlier, instead of just fielding the best possible team. How was Marinaccio just sent down? Same Ol same ol.

  6. Again with the anti clutch Donaldson and Gleyber hitting 4-5. Jesus.

Seen any championship teams with a .219 hitter batting cleanup? Me neither.

Yankees could easily shift Kiner to 3B, cut Donaldson and bring up 1 of the SS prospects.

Should have sold the farm for Soto because this lineup is DOA unless Judge and Stanton are mashing.

When did this organization stop going balls out to win? Rhetorical question, probably when George died.

It’s highly frustrating being a “contender” but knowing they’re always a step or two behind the really elite teams.

Yup. Hal refuses to eat contracts ($$$) to move dissapointing players off the roster. Dodgers do it all the time if it means it helps the team.

  8. Donaldson, who almost got traded at the deadline because he has been a bust, batted 3rd last night.

Aaron Hicks hasnt had a hit in 2 weeks.........and plays every day.

    Gleyber, another dissapointment....batted cleanup.

They need to cut this nonsense out. Donaldson needs to bat 7-9 and Hicks should be DFA'd.

Lol at this nonsense. Playing better in those games would have hurt this franchise more than it helped. And if you don't understand why I can't help you.

Jets were better off playing Wison last year in the 1st 8 games where he got his head kicked in?

  10. Last time he started an entire 16 game season, he went 9-7.

He can still play, as we saw last year. He should have been the week 1-8 starter last year, at a minimum. Huge bungle job by the FO/coaching staff.

  11. Cole needs to stop slumping his freakin shoulders and buckling his knees after he gives up home runs. Jesus. Somebody on the team needs to tell him to grow some balls.

  12. Again resting 1 of your best players right before a day off.

At some point, the front office/coaching staff needs to have a sense of urgency here and realize how important home field advantage is.

And stop playing Aaron Hicks. Trot out your best lineup every day. Enough already.

They should consider Kiner at 3B and calling up 1 of the SS prospects, IMO. Donaldson is trying to hard. Doesnt seem like a NY player.

It doesn’t help that his last few starts weren’t very good.

    Nobody has been good.

And aside from Cole, Montgomery was the only guy in the rotation NOT on an innings limit this year.

Side note: Huge screw up by the Yankees not to pony up the extra dollars and sign Verlander this past offseason. God forbid the Yankees go over some little cap threshold for silver spoon Hal. Instead they are paying 60 mill to guys like Hicks, Donaldson, Britton and Chapman. And this was after the Yankees passed on him at the 2017 trade deadline too. Jesus.

  14. Super risky move to trade Montgomery.

Seems alittle odd that a few days after he yells at Boone in front of the entire baseball world when Boone comes in to pull him vs the Mets -- he gets traded.

    Not a coincidence, IMO.

No way the Yankees shouldn’t have been able to offer a better package for Soto. Very disappointing to lose out to SD.

I dont think Yankees could have beaten that package, brah.

  16. Cashman targeted the right areas, thats for sure. Time will tell how these trades pan out.

Cant help but think he could have upped his offer and gotten Luis Castillo though. That was a miss, I think.

  17. Recent thoughts:

    1. Kudos to Cashman for getting Benintendi. Exactly what they needed. I'd bat him in the top 3 of the lineup, without question.

    2. Losing out on Luis Castillo stinks. But I agree in not trading Volpe in that package. Elite SS prospects are a different breed from any other positional player. Hopefully Volpe pans out. Maybe adding additional prospects to a Peraza package would have worked? Who knows....

    3. Another high end starter is needed but it seems like only tier 2 kinda guys are available now: Skubal, Syndergaard, Montas.

    4. Bullpen arms are needed. Nobody knows what Chapman or Loaisiaga will do. Clarke Schmidt can pitch, as a starter or reliever.

    5. I really like Kiner's bat. He's gotten so many clutch hits with RISP. But he is not a good shortstop. He's very stiff. Everytime he throws the ball to 1st base I hold my breath. He's a liability out there defensively. If Donaldson doesnt have a good 2nd half, then next year I would get rid of Donaldson and put Kiner back at 3B where he won a gold glove. I'd even consider doing that now and bringing up 1 of the kid SS prospects.

    6. Cole needs to show some more balls. He's blown leads in his last few starts to piss poor teams. Reds, Royals, Orioles. Cmon man.
