If Gio gets cut in Tampa I wouldn’t mind making him our third or fourth back. Very good safety valve as great RB pass catcher and a veteran presence since two of our backs are very young. He wouldn’t be bad as fourth on the depth chart

Guyis dual run/catch threat as far as production and Ds have to scheme against him lining up in either spot. If you could predict in any year that of 4 picks in 1st 2 rounds, one would be as great as Deebo and then trust Douglas with the 2 remaining picks. I dont wantt to roll dice on 1st round WR (come on, NO ONE will replicate Deebo) so ypu are giving up a pick 38 for Deebo. Big deal. Douglas still has 2 more . 4 and 35 to get 2 more starters. Deebo is the swiss army knife this OC and scheme crave and will elevate Zach and force 2nd best CB to cover Moore, leaving Davis and Berrios covered by schlubs. And Carter has a open part of field for dump offs as Moore and Deebo will force D to go wherever they go.Add in 2 hybrid pass catching TEs and Zach has MULTIPLE safety valves. It forces the D to keep LBs for rusing as too many great YAC guys playing close to line.

its shanahan approach (dad, son, mcvay etc) unless of course he has that rare beast a stud 3 down RB which maybe the NFL has 3-4 any given year. This scheme likes gadget plays when right players available. He is super talented but makor injury prone. We need more WRs. Take a 1 year flyer on Will Fuller and watch the fun w/coordinator implementing Fuller Berrios and Zach scrambling ability. Fuller could play slot where Crowder was freeing up Berrios to play same hybrid role he had at end of season last year

exactly right. I have Mariota on my fantasy team and love this and if he does well he moves on in 2 years if Falcons draft a stud QB or the drafted QB if not a stud stays as backup if Mariota make sthe most of his 2nd chance

agree. Its great for Mariota in fantasy. Its like winston few years back with Bucs. Falsons will be playing catchup all year. Mariota will have 4 pts at halftime then end up with 30+ fantasy points as he throws against a prevent D to pitts/patterson as Falcons are 3 scores down.

i honestly never thought about it or let it bother me. I focus solely on team on hand this year until we appear headed to being eliminated from playoffs then I think of trades, waiver pickups, draft etc to help next years team

Is Coleman the perfect 1B to Carter? Is there better options out there. Obviously based on Carter skillset along with 'maybe' not burliest of RBs at goal line we may thing a compliment is a stronger back. Who out there? Draft? Melvin Gordon would actually be a perfect physical compliment and do well at the goal line (something sorely needed). HadsDouglas patiently waited out FA long enough to get Gordon a good price?
