  1. Didn’t Sam miss a few games last year and this year which all turned out to be losses? Seems like your argument is a little disingenuous when you start handing him L’s in games that he didn’t play. Sent from my iPhone using JetNation.com mobile app
  2. Lamar had serious questions about his throwing accuracy coming out of college. That’s why he dropped. Credit to him and the coaching staff for working to address that while also putting him in good situations to thrive. It’s certainly not a given that a QB will improve his passing skills in the NFL, just ask Hackenberg. Sent from my iPhone using JetNation.com mobile app
  3. They missed an XP...it’s not like their just doing it for nothing. Sent from my iPhone using JetNation.com mobile app
  4. Bump...5 people out already! Anyone who hasn’t voted, now is your chance to get in. Sent from my iPhone using JetNation.com mobile app
  5. Also, FYI, Lamar needs just 23 more yards to break Vick’s record for most rushing yards by a QB in a season so looks like the Jets will add another entry into the books as the team a record was broken against. Yay! Sent from my iPhone using JetNation.com mobile app
  6. People have provided you stats on how Robby compares to other NFL receivers as well as what those receivers are currently earning....THAT is what makes him worth at least $10M per year. You can say you want to pay him as a WR3 all you want until your lungs get sore but the facts are he is at a minimum a solid #2 and will be paid accordingly. It’s easy to say”just let him walk and draft a replacement” when the people who are saying that forget that it typically takes Rookie WR’s at least two seasons to settle in. So what is the alternative? Take away one of the very few weapons that Sam has now while waiting for the rookie to develop, further hindering Sam’s own development? Or just pay Robby what he is worth and let the two of them continue to build chemistry while also searching to add more talent around them? Sent from my iPhone using JetNation.com mobile app
  7. This is a valid point but if you are really going to be fair, what was the situation with the receivers on this play? Was every receiver covered? That happened on multiple occasions last night to Brady. Does it make him any less of a QB? Now the answer to your scenario may be that someone was open, in which case it would be Sam's fault for taking the sack but I honestly don't know as I haven't re-watched the play. The only other thing I would add is that if you watch highlights of all the great offenses in the league, if the QB has 4 seconds to throw or if he scrambles out of the pocket, the receivers are able to find soft spots in the D or separate for big chunk plays. That is something that RARELY happens with the Jets, and I'm not just talking about this year, I am going back the last 4-5. I think that speaks volumes into the caliber of talent we have at the position.
  8. Unless you also predicted that we would lose both Sam and our backup QB for 1/4 of the season I’m not quite sure why you trying to give yourself a reach around for this “prediction”. If Sam doesn’t end up with Mono your prediction likely fails and you would look like a SOJF loser. Sent from my iPad using JetNation.com mobile app
  9. I’m not high on Gase but if you are looking for hope moving forward, the fact we have started 4 games in a row with opening TDs should give you that. Clearly Gase can put together a great opening gameplan not sure what happens in the middle of games but if they can figure that out, he might just be good for Sam. 10. What an asshat...finally having a decent year and goes and does that? Dumb move. Sent from my iPhone using JetNation.com mobile app
  11. Just announced on Twitter. Interesting to see the axe fall on another underperforming offense. Sent from my iPhone using JetNation.com mobile app
  12. Not just Andy Reid but look at GB. You want to know how we should be utilizing Bell? Carbon copy the plays that GB runs for Aaron Jones. They had him split wide running go routes for God's sake. Remember all those fluff pieces in the off-season about Gase putting in packages to utilize Bells amazing receiving ability? How they would have funky packages with Bell and the second-coming of Barry Sanders, I mean Ty Montgomery, on the field at the same time? Gase sure is a genius, I tell you what. 16. Uggh....had two buddies growing up with father's who would give you crap if you called them Mr. instead of Dr. and gave the whole "I didn't spend 10 years in school getting my PhD just so I could be called Mr. blah blah blah." 1 of them was a legit neurosurgeon so I guess I get it but the other was a dentist.
  17. Darnold is getting his spleen scanned again on Friday but as of now he is not cleared for contact. Sounds to me that the spleen is still enlarged but they are hoping it continues to go down in the next 2 days. Sent from my iPhone using JetNation.com mobile app
  18. Ehhh I don’t think that’s true....the ONLY reason I thought his hiring was acceptable was because he was able to get decent play out of JAG QB’s like Tannehill, Matt Moore and Cutler. I think this is more on our o-line. Sent from my iPhone using JetNation.com mobile app
  19. Burnett would have caught the ball that Bellamy dropped....just saying Sent from my iPhone using JetNation.com mobile app

  22. As far as I’m concerned, Gase is just as much of a curse as Fitzpatrick is to starting QB’s. Sent from my iPad using JetNation.com mobile app
  23. I hope that tonight sheds more light on what Sam had to deal with week 1. He was not only sick but the whole offense is him and Bell Sent from my iPad using JetNation.com mobile app
