  1. no it doesn't.  A very young, talented, Pro Bowl former DROY is not getting traded for a 2 and 5.   Not a chance.  And if that all anyone want to offer you don't trade him.  If he's devalued because of a suspension then hold on to him..Don't know you would want to trade him anyway.  Never mind at a deep discount.

You start with the 1 he cost us and add on because he's worth it.  He was suspended 4 games, lots of players have.

Whether you want to believe it or not, being in the protocol, and 1 more mistake away from 10 games, hurts his value.  I don't know what his value is, but I know it's less than it would have been without his suspension and pending action against him.

  2. Cro didnt even try on kick returns this year. Him and Kerley both knew they were gone after the year and didnt want to risk getting hurt on returns. They totally half-assed every return they had. Neither ran hard.

I doubt he "didn't try" because he knew he was out.  No NFL player wants "lazy" film.  I honestly think Cro will be back.. at a reduced cost, but that's a different argument.

In today's NFL, if you don't have someone like Prime, Hester or maybe Patterson returning your kicks, down the ball in the end zone.  The benefit is far outweighed by the risk.

  3. Good move but next season we need to sacrifice a couple of spots for a KR and a PR. Jets like Versatile players, but we need guys that are good in this area. And please........ Tell me we can get a better Punter

we don't need a kick returner specialist.  If we have someone like CRO who can do it (it not cut) great otherwise down the ball.

Punt retuner is a different story.  That we Need

  4. The old saying "we played not to lose" was applicable here.

Revis played off all day.  He was abused, but I think the scheme for the day had some to do with it. It's one thing to play 10 yards off, which isn't good, but you don't have to keep that cushion the entire play!  I blame both Revis and the scheme.  At some point, we needed to play press man on Watkins, even with safeties over the top and dare them to go deep.  If they beat us, we still wouldn't have been happy, but I almost think it would have been better, down 2 with 10 minutes to go, to have them score a TD and be down 9 with 8:30 left than it was being down 5 with 3:45 left.  I know that sounds crazy, but we needed to take the risk of stopping them quickly and we didn't.

  5. It's the start like at home killed us. Playing from behind all day was a Killer. It was a mirror image of the First game. It's sooner of gone up by one instead of forcing the end zone pick.

Perhaps one of the top 3 gut renching finishes to a season. Since the Fins will be much better next year.

the Dolphins won't be much better.  They are stuck with tannehill.   That means they have qb mediocrity like we do

  6. yeah,  bama is much better than msu. What's the point?  Michigan just embarrassed  Florida,  a fellow sec team and osu clobbered notre Dame. Meanwhile, weaker big ten schools (despite what their records were) lost big to Stanford and Tennessee.

Some sec, acc, big ten. Pac 10 schools did well,  some did not. I was just pointing out the ignorance of you bashing the big 10. The bowl season has NOT proven the big ten to be weak,  at all. They've knocked off many major conference teams.  Your post made it seem as if msu's play reflected the entire big ten.

Did you make that same statement after osu beat bama for the title last year?

my point?  The big 10 is weak. If they have 1 legit team it's TOSU.  Michigan is ok.  Florida sucks.   How they won the games they won is beyond me.  Sadly, TOSU had one bad game and it cost them a chance to defend.  That would have been a battle I would have wanted to watch (bama/TOSU).

The top 2 teams in the Big 14 lost 83-16   The 4th highest ranked team in the big 14 got spanked 45-6   Sure, Michigan spanked the 3rd highest SEC team but I wasn't saying the SEC was super strong I was saying the Big 14 is weak

god help the team that drafts Connor Cook thinking he's an nfl qb

Connor Cook was such a. Fraud.

  7. er, the big ten won the national title last year and 2 crappy big ten teams already took out 2 of the better pac 10 teams this bowl season. But omg msu lost to the best team in the country so the big ten is weak.

I love people that follow college football for 3 days all season and act like they know everything.  We'll see how the big ten dors today,  although I think Tennessee crushes  northwestern.

it's not that they lost.  They didn't look like they belonged on the same field.   This wasn't a close game that snowballed.  It was over EARLY.  Their qb looked scared.  They couldn't dream of moving the ball let alone move it and they didn't even think of a plan in case bama used play action.

  8. This is the Jets most balanced team since 1998.

They're 8th in Total Offense, 10th in Scoring Offense, 7th in Total Defense, 7th in Scoring Defense

If you take away points allowed on special teams (returns) and on offense... Jets in 4th on scoring D.   I eliminated XPs as well but counted 2pt plays.   So basically, Receiving and Rushing TDs * 6 + Field Goals (assumption here is D let them in position) * 3 + 2 pointers * 2.  Didn't count XP simply because I can't differentiate which came from TDs allowed on special teams and offense....

  9. ya we probably miss by 1 game.. still, in sept 2015, w/new coaches/playbook, most of us would have been thrilled/signed up  to know our last 2-3 games had playoff implications,,Future is bright!!!!!!!!!!!

We also spent a fortune, so this isn't the same team that went 4-12 last year.  We are going to miss because we couldn't score, from the 3 after Buffalo botched a punt.  Even with us winning out, Rex has a chance to have kept us out of the playoffs.   We had shots against Houston and Buffalo to win, and had the lead going into the 4th on NE.   Losing to Buffalo and then Houston with Yates at Qb hurts.

It's been a decent year, but I wouldn't have signed for this position.  Going 11-5 and missing the playoffs is no better than going 4-12 and missing the playoffs.  The only difference between the 2 is picking in the top 6-8 and picking 20th, so in some respects, 4-12 is better.   Now, over the course of the 17 week season, it was much more enjoyable going 11-5, don't get me wrong.

With all this said, I think Denver loses this week.  I also think KC loses one of the remaining 2.  I know they are playing no one, but it's just a feeling.  I don't think Pittsburgh loses.

  10. The downside of having former players run the show.  Sometimes they completely lack objectivity.  Overall Elway has done a nice job there, and it probably was the right call to let Fox go.  But replacing him with Kubiak is his first head scratcher, and that's a pretty important decision to mess up.

if they felt fox had to go fine.  Should have promoted Case and had him hire Phillips.  They'd still have an awesome D but they'd have an offense that can score.
