  1. Best case scenario for the bills...losman exceeds expectations and mcgahee stays healthy...11-5. What is going to happen is that Losman is going to have a little trouble adjusting to the NFL and the offense sputters. The defense singlehandedly wins 2 games for the bills and they go 8-8. Hopefully for the Jets they all get Syphilis and fofeit the season
  2. no one will say anything bad about abraham, that is, until he breaks his leg and still asks for a long term deal in the offseason
  3. I think Losman is extremely underrated which makes the bills a much more scary team than what we think they are now. McGahee had 13 tds last year...and started only 9 games. That worries me to say the least and I didn't even mention their defense.
  4. Whenever I think of the Steelers game I picture Doug Brien's head on a stick and parading it around like they did during the French Revolution...that's the only thing that calms me down and lets me forget the loss
  5. I gotta support Kevin Eakin becuase he is from Fordham and I was able to see him play in his senior season. I know the guy real well from the one year I went to school with him. He has decent size and he is a very smart quarterback. Good ball control and good arm. He is just a solid athlete. I would love to see him make it ahead of Bollinger but when we spent a pick on Bollinger and he already knows the system its going to be hard to cut him as a 3rd qb.
  6. I know we used a 7th on Williams and he has alot of upside...but he is out 2-6 and Gessner looks REALLY good on the second squad. He's big and has good body control. The only thing he has against him is that his first name is Chas.
  7. There is a reason that he was the defensive player of the year 2 years ago at OU. He has talent. I was surprised when the Jets got him in the 3rd round. He will be a solid nickel back for the Jets this year...they will not miss Mickens.
  8. ESPN has 4 shows which I would watch if it is on. Around the Horn and PTI definitely hands down, ESPN owns me from 5-6. Baseball Tonight...definitely. The Best single sport coverage show that ESPN has. The final one is Sunday Night Countdown. I know that people complain about Berman, but they would still ignore the mildly amusing comments for good coverage of the NFL. ESPN Hollywood...cancelled in 6 weeks
  9. Apologies to the Doug Jolley fan club for forgetting him on this poll, and although he will have an impact in our offense, he will be splitting time with baker, and will not create a significant improvement over the great anthony becht! (sensing sarcasm)
  10. If anyone wants to know why I picked Graham, look at my explanation on Graham (proving I have no life by focusing on a punter)
  11. I saw him in training camp 3 different times, and this is my opinion. He is a beast. Not just in the kicking game, but physically he is probably the biggest player on the field. I know it says he's 6'4" 220lbs., but he looks about 6'7" 260 but built. I was scared to be standing near the guy. I would be scared if i was lets say Allen Rossum or Dante Hall, a smaller punt returner and you see the punter instead of standing still and trying to slow you down coming out you wanting to knock your helmet off. You know full well that he wants to do nothing more than hit something, and he can easily do it with force. Now away from his physical attributes and onto what matters and the kicking. In the Lions game he averaged 54.7 YPK, and i figured, "Maybe he just got 3 good kicks off". Then I saw him at practice and his shortest kick (besides one he had to put inside the 10) was 55 yards. Out of 5 kicks, every one was over 55 yards with lots of hangtime, my watch on one had it at 4.1 seconds and another at 4.3, which is crazy for a punter. Most hangtimes are in the mid to high 3 seconds. I know it isn't significant in time wise, and the physical steps that the special teams players take; but as the ball is in the air longer, the punt returner is thinking more and more that he is going to get laid out and will do a fair catch. The whole point is to kick it as far as you can with the smallest return. Graham's net punting will be best in the league...write that down now. When he was on the 50 yard line and tried to kick it so it pinned the d in 10, i saw him do 6 kicks, of which none went into the endzone. He was kicking the ball much differently than i ever saw a punter, as he kicked the side of the ball away from the punter to create a backspin effect which caused the ball when it landed to either stick where it was in the grass, or roll back about 3-5 yards. Either way, if the other team is pinned inside the 10, they are working a long field against our defense. Just imagined how much better our defense would have been last year giving up points, if the opposing offense started 10-15 yards further away and had to pick up maybe 1 or 2 more first downs. The punting game seems insignificant, but it can have huge effects if it consistently putting the opposing team deep on their side. They have to change play calling and make sure that they don't get their defense pinned there either. Graham, based on today's reporting, moved ahead of Knorr on the depth chart, which is one sign that he is goign to make it. And with what I saw, there is little doubt that he is going to be, after Ty Law, the greatest pick up the Jets made in the offseason.
  12. For the fact the TO cries at both his house and on the field, while Abraham just cries at his house, I would take Abraham. He is one solid piece to our defense, and i don't think that Owens could greatly improve our offense much more that it is, since we do have Chad's arm. He was a great player under quarterbacks with guns for arms (Young, Garcia, McNabb). He isn't exactly a possession receiver which is what he would be in our system. Since we wouldn't be able to use him to his potential, but would still have to deal with him, it is TO Out; Abe in.
  13. I actually think he's going to have a huge season. Not really because of what he presents, but what everyone else around him is going to do. This year Boller is going to have a bigger year now that he has a receiver to throw it to. Last year Boller didn't have Lewis, Heap, or any solid receiver. This year with the addition of Desmond Mason, the whole offense will be improved and Lewis will reap the benefits.
  14. I hope that Brady breaks his leg in a preseason game That would make me laugh
  15. Good ESPN Sportcenter Hosts: Berman, Steiner, Mayne, Patrick, Olbermann, Eisen, and I would even say Linda Cohn and Trey Wingo (bc of his NFL Live hosting), Old Stuart Scott, Bob Ley and Craig Kilborn. Bad Hosts: Every new host that repeats every phrase that the great hosts made. They are all cheap rip offs.
  16. Graham is an absolute beast. Although any improvement will be a great improvement to Toby Gowin (worst punter in the NFL last year), he could very well be the best punter in the league based on punting distance and net punting. It's not just one thing to punt it 45 yards, but to punt it that far with enough hang time to force a fair catch. At training camp he was CONSISTENTLY pounding them 55+ yards with so much hang time that i wonder if the PR could even get it before the coverage. Then at the Lions game he averaged 54.7 yards a punt and I realized that this guy is the real deal. Yes I would love to see him kick, but I would love to see him hit a few guys and do a punt fake. And not a Tom Tupa punt fake where he used his qb past to throw it, i want to see Graham run and take out someone...just bowl them over. That would be the greatest move a Jet player made since Becht went to Tampa or Chad's juke against the bills 2 years ago.

  18. I was at the training camp practice on Sunday, and yes it looked like he was throwing some good balls. Some had the normal chad pennington zip (or lack thereof), but there was two throws which i remember well. The first was a deep ball attempt to McCareins which went 50+ in the air, and actually overthrew him, and another which he zipped into cotchery in double coverage over the middle. He put it right on his hip and away from the lb and cb covering. Both of those throws show that he is well on his way, and is more comforting to me than that article. Going to the rest of the trainig camps this week, before I go back to school...sproting my newly aquired Mike Nugent Jersey. No.1 on the jersey, No.1 savior of the Jets.
  19. With everything involved with Cotchery from his college performances (essentially breaking all of Tory Holt's records at NC State), to putting up solid performances at WR and KR, I think that he could be up for a big year. I went to training camp practice today and saw him make precise routes and a couple good catches. He made good receptions on both the sidelines and in the middle of the field from both Chad and Fiedler. He is either 3 or 4 right now on the depth chart but i can easily see him playing ahead of Chrebet in most situations. Would love to know what everyone else thinks.
  20. I know he isn't that that ancient in Jet history but how about Ray Lucas. Probably the quarterback with the least amount of talent to play for the Jets. He was a running quarterback who could barely run, and I remember him fumbling it when he did anyways.
  21. I like the idea too. I'm waiting on the list (probably until I'm grey but still), but another avenue to get tickets couldn't hurt. I know I would use it
  22. Nugent will make something like this 27/33 FG's 4/6 50+ 6/9 40+ 17/18 39 and less Perfect on PAT's. This puts him around 80% which is top 10 kickers quality...pretty much what a top tier kicker should be. The fact that it is his rookie year puts him lower.
  23. Good info...but i follow the general consensus find something, a hobby, another girl, pickup playing crossword puzzles; anything to keep you from wasting hours of you day with numbers and the calculator from Windows.
  24. The reason he was crying is because it hit him that he was playing for the Dolphins, a team with no quarterback and no immediate future in the AFC East.
