  1. Actually turned out well; he was never the same in Philly...
  2. The team has done nothing to the short armed LB who drove the wrong way through the Lincoln tunnel drunk, yet we expect them to do something about this stupid tweet. Not going to happen. They've lost all credibility at this point....
  3. “You learn if you play passive, if you play conservative, if you call plays conservatively, you are going to be 8-8, 9-7 every year,” Doug Pederson...
  4. They say the two happiest days of a boat owners life are the day he buys the boat, and the day he sells it. I think the same can be said for season tickets Just kidding. Enjoy the seats. I had seasons for 25 years and have been attending games since shea. Gave it up a few years ago, can't say i miss it though...
  5. A little off topic, but I thought that some years back the NFL and NCAA adopted the same ball size? I could be wrong though. This website seems to agree but I see others that do not. http://www.stack.com/a/football-sizes Just curious... ----EDIT---- Didn't realize this was such a controversy
  6. Have to agree. This past weekend I watched 3 full college games and only about 3/4 of the Jets snorefest. This coming from a guy who was a Jets season ticket holder for 27 years and once lived for the NFL. No more...
  7. Eli Apple pulled a 2016 Revis on that play; wanted no part of tackling. Embarrassing...
  8. One of my biggest annoyances of today's NFL, drives me crazy. Let them play ball...
  9. Cimini says Sterling in, Stringfellow out... http://www.espn.com/espn/now?nowId=21-0697122742834568440-4
  10. Great piece written by Jenny Vrentas, well worth the read.... http://mmqb.si.com/mmqb/2016/10/25/nfl-dennis-byrd-new-york-jets
  11. I tend to agree. What really has me annoyed this year are the neutral zone infraction penalties. I miss the days when the d-line could jump and get back, now as soon as the flinch the o-linemen move and grab the quick 5 yards. Doesn't seem right...
  12. From Cimini: Many of the receptions by Green were short gains on which Revis gave significant cushion. Coach Todd Bowles said Revis has the freedom to decide on his own whether he wants to play bump-and-run or "off" coverage. Bowles said Revis has earned that right. "Not everyone [has it]," Bowles said. "He does." Seems maybe Revis has lost some confidence since the wrist injury. Not sure... http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/17540865/darrelle-revis-new-york-jets-confident-rebound-week-1-woes
  13. I'm still baffled by the cushion given to receivers at the line of scrimmage by Revis these days. His game was always predicated on jamming them and getting them off their routes early; with the way our D-Line was playing yesterday it was more important to take away those quick reads by Dalton. Last year we were told it was because of the wrist injury that he was holding back. But he is still doing it. Is that coaching or is he no longer confident in his ability to keep up with them after the jam. Very curious...
  14. Rich Cimini ESPN Staff Writer The Jets have waived TE Brian Parker (failed physical). He was picked up Sunday on waivers. The roster now stands at 52. They added four players to the practice squad -- CB Dex McDougle, S Ronald Martin, RB Dominique Williams and newcomer RB Raheem Mostert.
  15. Yep, this is my concern as well. He's an effort tackler but doesn't seem too good at it. Does a weird thing where he puts his arms out ready to wrap (which looks like good technique), but he never wraps, just leaves them hanging there... Very strange. Don't think his coverage skills are that great either; good, not great. Hard time getting excited for this pick, but hope I'm wrong. He's a Jet now so I'm all in...
  16. I love Jenkins, but agree, don't think he makes it to our 3rd pick. Wouldn't be shocked to see Rex jump on him...
  17. props on the Honeymooners reference! Brings back great memories...
  18. Not taking blame from Sanchez on that play, but Miles Austin made absolutely no attempt whatsoever for the ball and at least should have tried to keep it from being picked. He made a couple of other bonehead plays as well that game. I used to think that local boy was a gamer...
  19. Actually the real speedster on the team is Owusu. He's consistently posted faster 40 times than Smith and at this point in their respective careers he plays a lot faster. I like Smith, but Owusu is the one who can take the top off of the defense. Here's hoping the concussions don't end his career early...
  20. I'm thinking conditioning was a problem yesterday, they were moving linemen in/out all day. In fact it was a little discouraging to hear Leonard Williams say in his post game interview that his conditioning wasn't where it should be. C'mon kid, you're 21 years old. The new CBA is really going to hamper the early efforts of many teams and may be a factor in the rash of early injuries. Just a thought...
