  1. it's not only size it's also stature-he's too small-height and width
Actually I was on the sidelines for the Jets/Miami game last year and was standing in front of Kellen while he was warming up. I was very surprised, because he is not a small person. He is very thickly built and definitely looked the part. Whether or not he becomes a player remains to be seen, but I'm a big guy and I was quite surprised standing next to him....
  2. I’m hoping Clemens beats out Chad in TC. I don’t think it will happen, but I would love having a QB better than Chad starting. Having Chad as a backup would get us great depth at QB. And it would help the Cap big time next year.

Hutch stated today that Clemens is in a battle with Tui for the 2nd spot; supposedly both looked good

-- An interesting battle is shaping up for the backup quarterback job between second-year pro Kellen Clemens and free-agent signing Marques Tuiasosopo.

Each player threw the ball well in both sessions during the opening of yesterday's no-pads minicamp at Hofstra. Both displayed strong arms.

It was an especially good day for Clemens, who had looked sluggish in several organized team activities (OTA) that were open to the media the past two weeks.

  3. Well Kendall went off after practice today and wants a raise or to be traded. Also dissed the team pretty severely. I'm not sure if it belongs in here or in a new thread so I guess I'll just keep the links to myself..... :P

  4. HAHAHA! JoiseyJet, you think I'm a spy because of my post count! I oinly post if I have something to say I dont need an overinflated post count, it does nothing for me, I read alot. LOL Hey Smizzy! Can you throw me a block please! LOL This is what I heard a friend of mine tell me who has had season tickets for 20+ years I am looking for a confirmation if anyone else has heard the same. Because I will not pay that even after waiting 12 years now. Oh and BTW my friend sits in the 300 section upstairs and 5k is the number he heard for his seats better seats might be more money???

Well, I've had tickets for close to 20 years and nobody called me asking. There is no way people will pay 5K PSLs for uppers, just won't happen. Woody is greedy, but not stupid. I'm not going to worry about PSLs until I get the official letter from the Jets, until then I'm holding out hope they'll do the right thing....

  6. Well, i don't think you can say that for sure. Here is where I see potential issues. Now, i don't know if any of these are going to be actual issues, but based on the info we have so far, nobody knows for sure.

1 tailgating will not be allowed in sat. lots. I would think this is a better then 50-50 chance of being true, since these lots may be rented from other people who will not want the mess and liability of a bunch of drunk fans playing with gas and charcoal grills, and it would mean lots more security having to be used so it would be a PITA for meadowlands personel. This would force people to have to meet someone in the main lots after parking their car and taking the shuttle and walking, maybe across the whole complex, to get to your friend's tailgate. But......

2 Why would the jets want to pay the bus company to start offering shuttle service 4 hours before kickoff? I just don't see why the jets would want to start that service so early. So lets say they start the shuttle 1-2 hours before gametime, that leaves you with an hour under the best circumstances once you wait for the shuttle, walk across the complex, and find your friend, and that maybe will give you a half hour to tailgate if your friends start cleaning and packing to get in for kickoff.

Like I said, I don't think anyone knows yet what the deal is, but these are 2 things that could wreck tailgating for people. This obviously doesn't even take into consideration the fact that a lot of people who buy their season's secondhand will not be able to get their hands on the parking passes, and that may totally end tailgating for them if number 1 on top is true.

Nice post. Doesnt' affect me; I'll buy the pass and be in the parking lot tailgating 5 hours before the game. But I now understand how this can/will affect some out there. Sucks, but I think they are doing this about as fairly as they can by taking care of the season ticket holders first. The first few games will be interesting. I'll probably go to a preseason game for the first time in years just to scope out the new arrangements....
  7. Off the top of my head.

Many Namath Jerseys. Authentics, replicas, home/away, Alabama, etc.

    Many Authentic Klecko jerseys.

    Riggins Authentic/Replica

    Maynard Authentic

    Mangold Authentic

    Vilma replica

    Martin replica

    Vinny replica

Think that is it. Not sure though...

  8. How KC can trade away Tynes is beyond me but he should fair well even with the Meadowlands winds. He has hit 55+ yard Field Goals before at Arrowhead and thats why he was mainly brought into this league was because of his strong leg. I thought the Giants were going to be comfortable with Josh Houston, guess not. I wonder who KC signs, maybe Vanderjagt?

    Doug Brien....

    :P

  9. He must have been somewhat impressive this weekend, but his background is somewhat limited, to say the least. I wonder if he can really beat out anyone for a slot on the team. W/R is one area where we are OK, with Coles and Cotchery, as well as Justin and Smith, an a few young no-names who were around last year, Like Wallace Wright.
Practice squad material if he shows any kind of raw talent in camp....
  10. 2) Some players just don't fit their team's scheme. Kevin Shaffer was an incredible zone-blocking tackle in Atlanta, but required Cleveland draft Joe Thomas his replacement due to their scheme. Further, with time a lot of tackles move inside to guard as they age and lose their step. Not fitting one team doesn't equate to lack of talent.

    3) Cincy runs a 4-3. We run a 3-4. His poor pass rushing skills and aged stamina fit our bill nicely. We need a clogger to plug lanes, not a DT to create QB pressure. His being replaced by younger, quicker tackles doesn't neccesarily mean he's out of gas, It means Cincy realizes that Adams won't be in the league that much longer.

    4) We only need our "answer" until next year's draft... and only until then. '08 is when 3-5 quality DT's will be taken in the first round, I gather we'll draft one of them. Had there been more depth and talent behind Okoye, we might have taken one a few weeks ago; but the talent wasn't there (and won't be until next year).

Although I am not opposed to the FO trying to gauge interest from the Adams camp, signing him would be a complete unknown. His entire career has been spent playing DT in the 4-3, he has never played NT in the 3-4. Many seem to think as long as you're big that is not a problem, I see it as a huge challenge learning this position. The question will be does he want to make a commitment to learn this new position at this point in his career? Does he want the hassle of a Mangini training camp so soon after arthroscopic knee surgery? Or rather is he just looking for another easy paycheck before riding off into the sunset ala Chester "Fatburger" McGlockton? I fear it will be the latter and we won't see him on the Jets (rightfully so)....

  11. Now you must KNOW in your heart they'll NEVER call it Jets Stadium. :frown: Whatever they call it we'll still be 2nd class citizens in it sadly.

That's just silly. You really should get over your inferiority complex... ;)
