    The Other League

That was way to stressful of a game for me. Holy crap i never thought i'd see the day that the brewers pen would be considered elite. Even with K Rod and Axford struggling. I really get the feeling that Saito is the best bullpen guy we have...despite Axford's great statistical season, he always seems to get into trouble but then somehow gets out of it...unlike last night's bottom 9. Question for teams that are more versed in the post season.... How often do teams go to a three man starting rotation? I just don't see a way that we can put Wolf back out there after game 4's struggles. he was all over the map, bouncing curves, missing on his fast ball. I really think we need to go: Grienke, Marcum, Gallardo, Greinke. They will each get four days rest and maybe not go as far into games as they usually do but how can we possibly put Wolf back out there? Thoughts? I don't know if my nerves can handle a 7 game series...this is new ground for milwaukee fans, you guys get it every year...it's a crazy season.

dude...i hope you're wrong but have no argument until the game is over. I'm dyin here, this might be the last time we make it in a long long time. come on crew!!!! Gallardo is my favorite player...he has to come through. Tough match up though, this will be an epic game. (if we win)
  4. I'm diggin this series. The tigers are holding on by the skin of their teeth but are still in it. Very impressive. I can't wait for game five.

    The Other League

I actually grew up watching the yanks so yeah, i know all about there home grown talent. Infact, the 95 team was probably my favorite sports team of all time...rough ending obviously. The seats i was refering to were only the ones behind the plate, it's just sort of sad to see a team finally price out its own fans. I still think the yankees are the team to beat but i do hope the crew can last at least one more series. here's to hopin.
  6. I read the baseball bored pretty regularly looking for a topic on my Brewers. Now I know your teams roll in money but this is a huge year for the Brewers and for fair weather fans such as myself, there is nothing better than the 2011 Brew-crew. The crew has a good enough team to beat the D-bags and in a five game series I would think they have enough fire power to even beat the vaunted Phillies. Seeing as it would not be a five game contest but a seven, I am really not feeling it, assuming we get out of the first round. Our starting pitching is pretty damn good and I would contend is better than any team in the league not ending in 'elphia. The problem I see with the rotation, perhaps this is most rotations, is that you never know which Gallardo, Greinke or Marcum will show up. Believe it or not, our fourth starter, Randy Wolf has been one of our more consistent pitchers. If Gallardo stays hot and Greinke heats up a bit, this team could advance to the final round....which brings me to my next point... There is no way this Brewer team can beat an AL foe. Our DH would be a 36 year old, a rookie, or a 41 year old who is hitting under .200. Coupled with that, our rotation got abused by the Sox and Yankees this year, and although we didn't play Detroit or Texas (if memory serves), I don't know that we could handle those offenses either. For me it keeps coming back to the DH. Philly seems to be an odds on favorite to win the whole thing but part of that has to be they can play Howard in the DH spot and any number of quality defenders plus a quality hitter in the first base slot. The Brewers simply do not have the personnel. I feel for Yankee fans, I really do. Your team is freaking stacked. All the best players in the league tend to congregate in your overpriced ball park but the stands still look barren even in a playoff game (2,500 bucks a seat will do that to ya). When you (the Yankees) are supposed to win every game because you are supposed to be the better team, does that take away from the fun in watching? I would think the feeling would only be rage or relief, never jubilation. I don't envy Yankee fans. Sure your team will be there every year but whats the fun in watching when you are always picked to win. What happens if they lose? Anyway, here's to the Brewers, I just hope I get to watch them for five more games.
  7. He had better not. How can someone blame Ellis for going to someone that wants him under their employ? The Jets made a financial decision, and I do not fault them for it. The Patriots likewise made a financial decision and I do not fault them for that. Ellis is working a job, now he is working a job with a different squad.
  8. i'm just shocked that you have this guy so baited...seriously...how you get these guys to believe you and then make them look like such clowns with simple smilie faces...i tell ya...you should teach a college course on the science of discovering these clowns.
  9. Teams would still be able to pass on us. There are such things as slot receivers and TE's. The jets have struggled for nearly a decade guarding TE's because the linebackers are slow as hell. Vilma was the only decent cover LB that we have had in a while. Scott is not bad but long in the tooth, Harris is similar to Hobson, Barton and any other shmuck when it comes to pass defense. Don't get me wrong, Harris is an amazing player but I wouldn't trust him guarding the pass against a college squad. Getting Nnamdi would be great and would match up great against a few teams but there aren't many teams that have two amazing receivers that would warrant coverage from two amazing CB's. I'd rather get a good cover backer, in place of Thomas or to spell Scott/Harris from time to time than a big time CB. JMO.
  10. I heard he told her to keep it because she will 'change her mind'. Then he filed a claim that the ring was actually lost. The insurance company called the girl and said that she gave it to her dad while she tried to figure out what to do with it. Heard it from steve czaban...not sure on the finer points...
  11. The guy can't pass...and from what I have read and seen...he cannot think either...i want them to play this year just so i can watch him with the panthers. It will be a great comedy display for years to come.
  12. I could care less about his modeling. That's really not a big deal. It's that I truly think he will be a total waste of an NFL roster spot. Nothing about him says he has any kind of work ethic or desire to put forth the effort playing QB in the NFL requires. Newton is the total package in terms of 'bust'...watching it all unfold is pretty fun.

    Prince

we were all wishing and hoping the same thing. He has a pretty small sample size, and that was actually in right field, but his hitting was really off in the bigs. I still have my hopes on the guy, we really need some kind of hitting to replace what Fielder does. Like i said before, it's like watching the leagues B team out there. THey're fun to watch and i chear for them but I know it would take a brilliant stroke of luck to compete against Sportcenter's favorite squads. It's just unrealistic to expect them to beat those teams.
  14. I have said it before...this guy will be the worst number 1 overall pick in 20 years. He has all the ingredients. He has the potential to make Jamarcus Russell look like a hall of famer. Can't wait! (thanks bart)

it would kill me to see him in a cubs uniform but hey...i guess i could just stop watching baseball for another 8 years. It just sucks because they are finally fun to watch again and then they'll be back in the dark ages before you know it. I don't really think they have a chance this year. They just can't match up with the bostons and new yorks of the world. it really shoudl be two completely seperate leagues...but hey, what do i know, maybe its more fun for people to know their team will always be in the playoff race.

    Prince

I have been having this argument for the last few weeks about Prince Fielder. Now i know that this site is infested the money club fans...which takes my context completely out because no matter what their team will always be in contention, but if you can think back to a time where baseball was competetive between clubs, not just major clubs, you may have the insite I desire. The Brewers are in contention for a playoff spot. This is huge for us because it rarely happens. The argument is... Keep Prince for the whole season, getting virtually nothing for him as he hits the free-agent market... Or...trade him before July 31, trying to get a decent replacment and hopefully replacements at both SS and 3rd. Currently we have two guys hitting around .220 at both positions and, IMO, it kills our lineup. Virtually every game Prince gets walked intentionally to get to these scrubs. I would rather have 3 guys hitting around .280 than one at .310 and two at .220. Am i off my rocker for wanting the crew to deal Prince during a possible playoff push?

  20. Not sure if you were calling me a schotty hater or not but i'm pretty sure i'm in your camp on this. I don't think he's good...infact i think he's below average in the NFL...There are plenty of other games that have a lot more damning play calls going against schotty than a game where they scored 19 points in a half against a top five defense.
  21. Not sure I agree with you. Our best offensive players could be Brandon Moore and Nick Mangold. If I'm the coordinator of the jets, i'd like to win or lose the game on the backs of my best players. I realize Casey Hampton occupies the middle but i really believe in going with your best players in the most impactful times. On the other hand, two pass plays aren't necessary on the two. Stats would show that you are bound to get a few yards by merely running the ball four times. As schotty pointed out in the New England game, it doesn't always work. The play to Keller was stupid, no reason to look to him when we need a score most.
  22. Thank you! I don't know why anyone would even think this could work or how it came into their mind as a rational thought.
  23. True about him not being a part of the toughest of times but he can still play at the game's biggest moments. I hope they bring him back, he is still an ideal DE for a 34 and always seems to come up big when we need him. It would be sad to see him in another jersey but like it not...it is infact a business.
  24. I suppose you're right. That's why troy smith, reggie bush, matt leinhart, jason white, carson palmer, eric crouch, chris wienke, ran dayne, danny weurful, rashan salaam and charlie ward all lit it up in the NFL. There is nothing about Newton that says he will even be a compitent player in the NFL. Honestly, i will be laughing so hard when the panthers need to throw to win a game and have Netwon calling out play 36!! 36!!!...just like his days at Auburn...lol
