Tough loss. Nashville played a great road game last night and on balance probably deserved tHE 1-0 win, This next stretch is a really good test for us. Games against the Avalanche (who just crushed us), and Las Vegas on the road looks like a chance at our first real losing streak if we are not careful. This is where coaches earn their money but also where the non-performers need to step up. Mika is so scared of taking his own shot right now that he is passing on golden opportunities in favor of lesser ones from someone else. That has to stop. Kakko seems to have back-slid over the last few and Laffy is still being carried by the team. Maybe it is time for him to get some work in at Hartford because it isn't happening for him here right now. The defense and goaltending have been more than solid during this last run obviously with the exception of the collective brain-fart against Colorado. It is good to know moving forward that we have a solid backup goalie.

Chelsea imploding <edited to add> Comfortable win, never in doubt. This team looks like the furthest thing from reigning European champions right now. Liverpool and City and the rest will be fighting for scraps.

We were overdue for a bit of a stinker and it is a pity that it came on Adam Huska's NHL debut game. I feel bad for the kid. Anyway we get to see them again in their building on Tuesday night so it is not like we have to wait three months before we square off again, Time to start a new winning streak against Buffalo Sabres tonight. They give up a lot of goals but they can also fill up the net themselves so we need to pay attention on the back-end tonight otherwise they might luck into a game where their goalie stands on his head and we end up on the wrong end of a 4-1 loss against a pretty bad team. We have been fortunate to avoid those kinds of let down games this year and tonight is one where the coach needs to earn his money.

The Labrum is near to the vagina no?

Rangers are the hottest team in the league right now along with Dallas. Next, the Rangers are the playing Colorado twice, Buffalo and Nashville. Some good western conference teams there.

Because Fred flops better?

Good win last night. Georgie had more that a little help from the pipes but the refs nearly found a way to totally screw us last night. 2nd goal was clearly after the whistle AND he was pushed into the net after the whistle blew AND the original decision was no goal so they would have needed to see clear evidence of a mistake. I think they got all three parts of that decision wrong and thankfully we held them off or the last minute.

Tonight has letdown game written all over it. Back to back games. Shesterkin out for who knows how long, Blackhawks playing much better of late and we are sitting on a five-game winning streak. Time for Georgie to step up and show us some of what he has shown last year. First place in the Metropolitan may be on the line.

Georgie time!!! (trying to stay positive) It feels like it should have been more than 1-0 tonight but notwithstanding all of that still we seem to find ways to bank points. Five in a row baby

Possibility of moving to within one point of the division lead tonight and with two games in hand if we can get a win over the Sharks.

Strange week. The vaunted Metropolitan division coming back to earth a little bit. Take a look at "STRK" the last column here Here is the more digestible (fewer columns) format

Not only still in the game but closing in on the all-time "Ironman" award apparently.

Philly are hot mess, possibly as bad as the Islanders right now. GM needs to take some of the blame but I do not see how this does not land on AV. Another win from a "danger" game where we were clearly a bit rusty after the layoff and yet still managed to bank the points. Faba was tight the division seems to be separating into top-3, middle-3 and bottom-2 Let me add my vote (again) into the idea that if there is some way to give @BROOKLYNJET a 2nd chance i feel that he adds far more to the board than he detracts and.... given that other offenders have spent years in some cases committing offense after offense before finally "earning" their permabans, the idea of a one-and-done offense seems like overkill.

No game until Wednesday feels like a lifetime

Predictable game from Chelsea today. Timo Werner is utterly useless in front of net. Mount and Pulisic should definitely have started. Probably Lukaku as well.

..uncommon draft jackpot could help New York Jets accelerate rebuild

Congrats on getting your iManager. There are real Tuchel-like possibilities in here for you guys I think. Coming in to a team mid-season and with very moderate expectations for the current campaign is a dangerous combination. When you add that to a spot in the CL last 16 and a roster with as much top-end talent as anyone in the world I think United become a very "tough out" from here on in. I wish it had happened a couple of weeks from now.

City strangled them slowly today. The only interest came when PSG went ahead against the run of play. I wonder how many EPL teams legitimately belong in the top-32 CL places? <edited to add> Messi, Mbappe and Neymar all getting killed on the CBS post game show. "No team can afford to carry one passenger at the top levels of the game let alone carrying three passengers"

Score one for the EPL in today's games.

From your lips to God's ears but I do not think this incarnation of Chelsea are that ruthlessly methodical. Not yet anyway. So there is concern that the change at United, even if it has not been completed will lead to one of those extra effort performances that the United team has shown itself to be capable of. Pochetitino is a good choice but I fear they will have to give him full control (buying the groceries) in order to land him and I wonder why PSG locked him down in that respect.

Let's wait on any United turnaround until after the Chelsea game next weekend
-
That islanders team is going to wake up sooner or later like a bear with a sore head and start a long winning streak. They are just too loaded not to do that but hopefully all of that happens after the game on Wednesday. Rangers just need to bank the points now and let other teams chase later. The Georgiev problem may need a more extreme solution like sending him down to work out his issues in Hartford. Tinordi is a liability

Agree 100% and TBH we haven't seen the best of this team yet. Anyhow it beats giving the rest of the division a two-streets head start at the beginning of the season as we did last year.
