Just in case it's coming off like I'm against Mitchell... I'm not.  I still like the pick

I was just saying I read that strength conditioning was one of the things he had to do to be pro ready.

I didn't mean for it to come off like any kind of indictment.

I remember it being more weight to allow him to use his strength against  NFL pass rushers. It was thought it would take a while to get to a good weight over 300. Not saying it is the case bit sometimes tou have a final growth spurt in yulour early 20s could be the case here. Ilf Mitchell and Clemons become starters it could be one of the most epic drafts in a while

  2. On "holding the ball too long":

First there have been very few instances reported.

Second they are installing an offense. Completing the play even if Zach would have scrambled or threw it away us something  the staff wants him to do at times. It's one of those meaningless criticism bombs people love for QBs like "bad footwork" "staring down the receiver" "stepping up in the pocket" etc...which mean nothing without context.

  3. Obviously way too early but the more I hear about our rookies the more I get excited. There is nothing yet to suggest anything other than them being good and possibly elite. Sauce especially strikes me as thar rare player that us both physically better than everyone else but outworks them too.

The league is going to end up losing a lawsuit over this one.

There is basically zero chance the NFL will lose a lawsuit. The language is very clear, the judicial system does not like to overrule CBAs and there is also precedent.

The craziest thing to me about this staff is that they keep going after guys that were not particularly successful with them and give them a 2nd chance.  Particularly on D.  I remember the fat ******* carpetbagger bringing in all "his guys" but at least most of them had success with him Byers, William Roberts, Pepper Johnson, Jerome Henderson.

Solomon Thomas was a huge bust in SF and didn't even make it through is rookie deal.  He went to LV and moved to DT and was okay.  They gave him small, but make the team money to play what position?  Kwon Alexander got a ton of money, tore his pec and when he was ready to return, they traded him for a conditional 5th and rotting corpse of Kiko Alonso who they cut without activating.  They drafted DJ Reed in the 5th.  He was mostly an eh slot corner.  In 2020 they waived him off the NFI list and the Seahawks picked him up.  When Quentin Dumbar got hurt, they played him outside and he did well.  Now the Jets gave him a real contract.  Even Tevin Coleman probably didn't live up to his deal in SF.

I guess they all know the system and are solid fits.  That was probably super important last year.  Maybe with how bad the D was they feel they needed more of that?  Also, I guess the vast majority were there when they made it to the super bowl against KC.

Saleh has admitted that they actually thought Reed was an outside guy but refused to put him out there. He was quite a bit better than "played well"

We (me included)  might be making to much of this slim.

When interviewed on "inside training camp" tv show,  they asked Saleh how many reps he was expecting for 1st team @ green & white.... he said 60.... first team is currently running 45...

He didn't elaborate on that so between the beat writers and Saleh... there is something missing.

I think the Jets are being very specific with reps and trying to ramp them up ang get practices more and more intense. Last year we were just like BOOM 60 plays and 6 guys are in the bike area, this year we have seen far less of that.

    Yep. That's it.

The important bit is Watson was found guilty. An easy out would be to make the suspension indefinite  and handle each case as separate infraction so he can reapply after 24 games. Personally I would just ban him for life.

I believe a balanced attack works best. Today's NFL defenses are too good to run against when they know what's coming and stack the box with 8 or 9 guys. That ends up in 3rd and 8 and puts Zach in a bad position.

This. Want your QB to suck? Go run run pass on ffense a lot

Personally I dont give a sh*t of we see him or not ... we beat him ... we are what the record says we are ... no hiding in cheap wins. Good teams dont do that.

This s actually true in an analytical sort of view if the NFL draft, but I was very much on the Sauce train before the draft and think he can live up to that expectation.

Stingley can toobut he is just incredibly risky

It’s possible, but I could easily see the Jets deciding to carry an extra DL, DB or TE instead.

We carried 6 and even 7 at times last year. Only 2 QBs stay.. I think Hardee is cut/traded. That allows for 6 WR and 4TEs assuming Mims and one other can play specials. With all the injuries at WR last year and all the talent we have weapons and depth on OFF will trump the DT and DE groups.

We will release or trade some good players this year. A Q trade would not shock  me
