I really hope they U-turn on the decision to hold him out vs. Cincinnati.  There's no reason to hold him out if he's not limited to begin next week.

The question at this point seems to be who's decision is it?

Trust me, you’re preaching to the choir. Not only do I think he isn’t the “best player on the team”, I don’t even think he’s our best QB.

Fido is a good egg though, and I’m not going to argue with the guy after he took the time to post a reply. What is there to gain? I’m not going to change his mind anyway.

To be honest, I’m so down on this team  I’m willing to just kick back and watch everything implode this year.

I don't actually think things are as bad as they seem, outside of the QB play, special teams, and the offensive line, there's reasons to like a number of things.  I'm hopeful that the 3rd will improve with time and recognize injuries played a major role here.

I agree, but let’s be honest. When you look at the list we had to choose from, can you really fault anyone for taking a flier?

The statistically worst QB in the NFL last year, who had an up and down offseason and then got hurt again, is not the best player on this team, no matter how bad this team is.

Vince Lombardi didn't give a crap about positive vibes or Navy seals or receipts.  He was a total football junky.  He studied the game and developed plays and tought guys how to play their positions and execute his plays and game plan.   He wasn't running some other coach's system.  He was developing the game.  The guy worked his ass off and he demanded that his players make the same commitment he did to the team.

He applied a brilliant mind tirelessly to winning.

The HC has to have the will to lead, the intelligence to be flexible and the work ethic to drive an organization.   Saleh isn't focussed.  He's keeping receipts.

Serious question about this... How much media availability was required of Vince Lombardi on a weekly basis?

He sat behind Eli Rivers and Wilson  for the majority of those years and didn't get a chance to play.

Obviously you don't know football too well if you think he played like sh*t for 10 years meanwhile he was a backup.  Another delusional Jet fan.

Wait - do you actually think we should have kept Geno all these years?

I thought we were all just ******* around, mostly with @jgb (WHO CAN SUCK EGGS BECAUSE GENO IS ELITE).

Real feeling is that Geno did get a bit of a rough shake here, but not so rough that his early career would have been much different.

Happy he's having success, but he's always been capable of putting together good portions or games - doing it on the regular is what he was never able to do.

The word "boring" jumps out. Worst thing any entertainment enterprise could be.

Moved from anger to bemused indifference, bordering on contempt. There's no way I am burning a fall afternoon to deal with either traffic or the PATH train disaster to be treated like a prison inmate at ridiculous costs to watch that in person.

A lot of people gave my post below a +1, but no one has responded to it.  Honest question, why would anyone go for any reason other than their personal traditions.  They are, in fact, uninteresting.  I'm happy to go on a roadtrip each year, because that's different and fun.  A Jets game, in and of itself, is almost never fun.

Why would someone have wanted to go to today’s game?

    Serious question.

Because it’s expensive and the team hasn’t been relevant in a decade and the weather was bad and they were starting Joe Flacco and the opponent is a historically and currently better non-rival team.

So, besides, “I’m a season ticket holder and this is what I do,” what reason would anyone have for going?

I watched the Italian Grand Prix, worked out, cleaned my car, watched the game on a 77 inch OLED, and then went out to dinner with the family.  Hard pressed to think anyone who sat in traffic, then the rain, then traffic and paid $400 or more for the privilege, had a better day.

It's been a few years since i've been to a live game, but I definitely noticed a lack of Gen Z representation.  Apparently that's true league wide.

Do they not like football anymore?

I don't know about like, but it's not priced for Gen Z to afford it.

The average Gen Z worker in the country makes 32K right now.  In NY and NJ, it's higher but still under 40K.  The average 1br in NJ is $1100/month.  That roughly works out to rent = 1 full paycheck.  Two tickets, parking, and minimal concessions and you're looking at $300 unless you're in the upper bowl.

    How is that happening?

So you saw the offseason ? Flacco was handed all the first team reps when Zach got hurt . He didn't earn the starting spot it was given to him, there was no competition. The result of this decision was evident Sunday and it was easy to predict.

Its obvious to me this team does not want a QB controversy, if Mike White was to start and play well for a few games and Zach came back and continued to suck that's exactly what the Jets coaching staff would have had. The easy pussified way to handle this was to play Joe Flacco because in every scenario it would be no big deal to replace the 37 year old career mediocre QB with Zach Wilson even if Zach played bad upon return the narrative would be, well he's the future.  That's not the same scenario if MW played well because he's 27 that makes things a lot more complicated.

Like others, you can have the feeling maybe MW is not that good and he's just over blown but he did play well enough vs both Cincy and the Colts to at least be the back up and a reliable one at that but the Jets felt lil Zach needed a mentor even though he had a personal QB coach a team QB coach and an OC working with him at all times so why the Need for Joe Flacco ?

I agree that the team doesn't want a QB controversy.  But, I also read every training camp tweet and watched the preseason, and White did nothing to force the team's hand.

I don't like the way the QB position has been handled on this team, ever.  But, that doesn't suddenly make Mike White a guy that wasn't a flash in the pan.

You’re assumption is ZW isn’t a well liked guy when every interpretation is that he is.  Or that teammates don’t believe in him when they seem to.

I think this offseason, it seemed more like the newer guys definitely did, but there is no denying that last year, the team favored Mike White.  Also, players will go for the guy that puts them in the position to succeed.  Thus far, that has rarely been Zach Wilson.
