Let's go Jet Nation. Zach Wilson is back and the season begins today.  The defense needs to step up, Zach needs to show the world that he is legit and the Jets need to walk away with a win.  2 and 2 is the goal!

We are in Pittsburgh for the game. We have field passes and we will be taking photos and videos of Zach as he takes the field in the morning. Follow JetNation on Twitter and if someone can copy the tweets here tomorrow that would be appreciated.

Anyhow, let's go Jets. Get this win.  Whether you are watching in Pittsburgh or from home, be loud and proud.

It perfectly fine to dress up or down. But if you don't dress professional then you won't give off that impression. Pretty simple. White black or purple

    2019 Rank = 16 of 32 teams.  359 yards against; 22.4 ppg

    Check out this starting lineup:

DL:  Henry Anderson, Leo Williams (7 games before trade) / Steve McLendon, Quinnen Williams (rookie struggles)

LB:  Jordan Jenkins, James Burgess, Neville Hewitt

CB:  Darryl Roberts, Brian Poole and split between Nate Hairston / Arthur Maulet / Trumaine Johnson

    Safety:  Jamal Adams, Marcus Maye

    Depth:  Laughable

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Outside of Leo Williams & the Safeties, the 2022 Jets are better on paper.

Yes- the rankings went way down the next year .. in part due to trades (Leo, Jamal) & injuries.

If your asking was a he better def coord the answer is yes. If your asking was he a better hc ? The answer is yes thier too

His defense has been very consistent. It always sucks. It has also been special, in a bad way.

He needs to at least take over play calling if they can't be at least an average defense with Ulbrich calling it. The only way he survives as a head coach with his defense continuing to suck like this is if Zach Wilson turns into a superstar and bails him out.

I would like to see him take over play calling and maybe the head coaching part too

This guy Ulbrich is a clown. Saleh should be calling his own defense get this guy outta here

Geeze this is the coach talking..he just going to clown his guy? No bro how bout you don't call terrible def or maybe use some better plays. Its sad how little we get out of this def.

The good ol rex days he had a top d with Jack sh*t on the team. He had one lock down corner and no pass rushers. Just imagine what he could do with this group

imnot advocating for rex just a better def coord/ def Coaching

Beat writers said Flacco looked great in training camp. Garrett Wilson confirmed he throws a better ball than Zach. Flacco also knows the Steelers and is better prepared to handle the blitz. The Jets should play the QB that gives the team the best chance to win.

Joe Flacco is one of the league leaders in passing yards. The guy has not been the problem.

the team is in desperate need of a complete culture and ideology overhaul. it's been too long and the team has been a laughing stock for far too long. idk if the solution is to throw eveything and the kitchen sink at sean payton to get him here, but something of that type of magnitude needs to occur. we have just been mired in ineptitude for far longer than should ever be acceptable. unfortunately we may be stuck as long as that clown woody johnson is the owner

not sure if youi noticed Joe D in charge bringing building the roster correctly fixing among other things, the front office structure and scouting...nothing Joe has done has been inept. some people can just never be happy SOJF

  8. Im not quite there yet but getting closer every game. The questionable playcalling and just not being prepared on sundays.

If the truth is we are playing flacco because we dont want there to be a qb controversy then we shoudl fire him. You cant tell me that mike white doesnt win that game yesterday. He hits those open guys all night for 400 plus yards.

Sounds like the defense is revolting against Saleh's sh*tty defensive scheme.

Well that not true we literally saw quinen revolting live calling out the coaching staff for stupid play calling. The scheme is not necessary bad, I mean we know it is not since we have seen it run elsewhere with good success, the particular coaching and play calls and lack of game plan is at fault. We have the scheme based on the front getting pressure and they don't call it that way they throw the kitchen sink on that particular play. Stupid call.

Once again a call made by our def coordinator who seems inept. I think the system can work if we got pressure. But over we so bad coverage with no game situational awareness.

Look the system could be bad but it is hard to tell here because we do really stupid things and don't let our guys go.

    3-years, $45 million.

Missed his entire first season here due to injury.

Is a complete non-entity so far in 2022.

For all the hype when he was signed, the guy is a joke.

Mr. led the league in "Almost got there" doesn't even almost get there much anymore.

The failure of an investment (so far) is a big part of why our pass rush, and Defense, has been so horrid during the Saleh Era.

Is there any reason to think he is going to turn it around and start producing?  Or is this now just a sunk cost.

I disagree he make the pocket move and gets pressure. He is def not the problem on def

He's done a good job rebuilding thus far and the process isn't complete. He held out for a six-year contract with good reason. He's shown that he has a vision and a long-term plan. He's done fine. No GM is perfect. He's had hits and misses but this team is in a wildly better space talent-wise than it was when he took over.

Saleh, on the other hand, hasn't shown a single thing. There is nothing that makes me believe he's a solid head coach. There are a ton of examples I can point to where Douglas is an average-or-better GM.  Good head coaches are hard to come by. If Saleh was a miss then JD needs to correct his wrong ASAP and cut ties this offseason.

Just being prepared for game day would be a start and improvement for this team.

Because their future is going to be made most likely one way or another over the next six weeks.

It’s one thing to have goofy little catch phrases and mantra if you back them up.  It’s different when you use them and don’t live them.

That game was largely decided by 1.) Terrible undisciplined penalties. 2). Communication Break Downs. 3) Half assed effort.

The team has enough talent to be competitive.  Hell they couldn’t have played much worse than they did today and still had at least a glimmer of hope with 8 minutes left.

Maybe the mantra  should be little things matter.  Because they do, and your team doesn’t do them and that’s the biggest difference between the Jets and consistently good teams.

With the talent being there the bad coaching shines like a light in the dark. You can't miss it. Glaring.

Time will tell and it is not too late we are only week 3, but we can only show up to so many games with no game plan. A big misty will be repeating if our coaching staff believe Zach will just overcome other teams with out good game plans etc.

Look at buffalo they game plan and playing to their strengths before giving Allen his freedom and even them they still prepare him and the team with smart game plans.

Now look at burrow. He is expected to just over come and play better. But well, you see how that turned out.

It is a dis service to the team to have poor coaching. Anyway many pluralities, ultimately we need better out of the coaching staff.
