  1. Prefer 2D. I've seen 3D in short doses and it's interesting, But I hear 3D movies gives some people headaches, and I have motion sickness so I dont' really want to spend $$$ on a movie to have to walk out of it. Thought Avatar was visually stunning in 2D on a huge movie screen.
  2. Hope you have a great birthday, Thor!
  3. I wonder if the refs were looking at the weather. The storm got really bad at that point, and maybe they wanted to finish the half before the game was suspended for lightning. So they got caught up in a mood of "let's hurry this up" and started yelling at the Jets. It's the only thing I can think of. It makes no sense for the refs to say anything at all about snapping the ball.
  4. Here they are. Couldn't upload pics to photobucket on my new PC; had to do this on my work Mac. Geez! I think he's around 2 years old. Such a nice, calm dog--gets along with the other animals and my 5-year-old niece.
  5. That's disgusting. I can't even imagine what would make people think that it's okay to do what they did. Hope they get punished.
  6. Beautiful dog, Verde! I'm sure you still miss Luna, but RR's are great. My brother has one and he's a wonderful dog. Gets along with their other dog and their cats, even though he's so big. Loves being petted. I'll post a picture when I get it on my computer (have a new computer and am transferring files from the old one). Hope you enjoy your new puppy!
  7. This guy would have just ended up on the "People of Walmart" website.
  8. Kleck -- What a great birthday gift from the Jets!
  9. Hey, gg, here's a way to use candy corn all year round -- in your teaching!
  10. Hey, gg, I think I've posted candy corn earrings, cc birthday cakes, cc cocktails, and the oh-so-useful candy corn high heel shoes for you over the years. This year a more practical approach -- something to keep you warm during those cold CT winters. Enjoy (and it's not fattening)!
  11. One of the best theme songs on TV. Love that they kept the theme song (though a little changed) and some of the images from the original series in the opener. Means they might be keeping some of the feel of the show, too, which would be excellent. Hate when they remake a show or movie and it's completely different -- then what's the point of calling it the same thing - just use a different name. Looking forward to Hawaii 5-0, always liked the original as a kid.
  12. The Walmart near our house in Austin has a bakery. The store is open 24/7 so if you need groceries or anything late at night, it's the place to go. A bunch of us in the neighborhood had flooding in our houses last week at about 1 AM (thanks tropical storm Hermine). My neighbor went to Walmart at 1:30 AM and got a wet-vac to save his floors. So there's some good to be said about Walmart -- minus the pedophile toy-aisle Sports-Illustrated jerk-offs.
  13. At least she didn't replace your night lights with this. Imagine getting up in the middle of the night and seeing that.
  14. "We're cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs!" My favorite cereal as a kid. But seriously, what a marketing campaign -- I still remember that slogan decades later. Lucky Charms was another favorite. Loved those marshmallow treats!
  15. Guess you didn't like Stephen King's It.
  16. Clean House has people who aren't quite as disgusting as those on Hoarders. But all have lots of junk and live like pigs. Clean House also has Niecy Nash (from Reno 911) as the "voice of reason" on the show. Hoarders has psychologists, professional organizers, and mental health workers. I agree with the others in the thread that true hoarders keep their stuff clean and neat because they value what they keep. The ones on these shows are shopaholics, can't throw anything out, buy stuff in bulk to save money (really, who needs 100 boxes of Electrasol dish detergent), and generally have filth and dirt everywhere. It really is gross. Many of these people never clean their kitchens. They're lazy slobs and leave food on plates for weeks!
