Yes there are ways to minimize lower body injuries. Im not an expert but have heard doctors and physical therapist talk about it. My son runs track which tends to have a lot of lower body injuries. So, I listen to a lot trainers/doctors/therapist on these topics. Things like running backwards, running hills, and toe raises have been shown to minimize the risk of lower body injuries.

Can you be more specific? I got a lower body injury ****ng my gf the other night.

Knees are unpredictable.  My daughter spent eight weeks training before her age 14 volleyball season (high-level travel team).  She added 6" to her vertical leap, substantial improvements in her cardio and burst metrics.  If they has RAS scores for kids that age, hers would have been green across the board.  She was ready to rumble.  And she was playing great until she jumped up to block like she did a thousand times before, and came down and popped her ACL.  Just like that.  She was in the best shape of her life and it didn't save her knee.

Right, I was just disagreeing with the "fat-****-didn't-work-hard-enough" narrative

Not in a cardio sense, but the amount of muscular stabilization and the pliability of the surrounding connective tissue can have a serious effect on performance and durability.

Right, I know, but is that something that you can improve? Are there exercises that prevent avulsion fractures of the kneecap? And why wasn't he doing them since it obviously took months for him to get into the amazing shape he showed up in. You would think the kind of work that took to put in would include the non avulsion fracture exercises.

Except for his knees. A poster literally said he saw them buckle when he walked up a stair or something, before he got injured the second time. As you know, physical appearance of shape abs being in football shape are two very different things.

Do knees get in shape? And what kind of exercise does it for the knee ligaments or cartilage or whatever?

Yeah I was talking about the off-season and during his injury.  Supposedly he did get himself in shape before camp started.  It clearly didn't protect him from injury.

I wish I had more faith in him...because a healthy Becton - with AVT and Breece Hall (all three season ending injuries last year) This running game can be the best in the league.  But I'm not letting myself get excited about that.

I don't care if he eats a mortadella sandwich or fukcs it on his own time. The only thing that matters is if he comes into the season in shape. It doesn't happen overnight anyway, which is why he looks incredible and it's only the first week of March.
