I mean “nonsensical“ in that how does a few extra games satisfy anyone out there who is pissed about Watson seemingly getting away with actual sexual assault? How can the Mina Kimes’ and Lindsay Jones’s and Rich Eisens of the media world go out and say that six games was a grievous insult, but ten/twelve games is good enough? That’s why I think Roger has to try for the year, but if he tries for the year, doesn’t that make them vulnerable, before a judge, to have them conclude as Sue L Robinson did—that it’s wildly overreaching based on precedent?
My brain is too dumb to comprehend the legalities of this but I'm 100% in agreement with you here. I really dont understand how does a few extra games suddenly satisfy everyone. Just bizarre. And I'm not advocating one way or the other but the idea that if the league dropped a 10 or 12 game suspension would make everyone happy is just weird. Very weird.

Nobody cares or remembers or gives a flying **** about this stuff as long as they're scoring TD's on Sunday and helping their fantasy football team win. Look at Mixon and Hill, these dudes are literally celebrated and they have smoking gun evidence they physically abused a woman. Ray Lewis held a man down in a limo while his buddy stabbed him death and he's celebrated as the greatest leader/motivator/MLB of all time.
And guess what? Same thing will happen with Watson. This will all be a fleeting memory.

I'm completely and utterly bewildered. The entire NL contenders and even those that are some what of a longer shot, just got sooo much better and the Mets, did absolutely nothing while they fell back into typical deGrom hitting form, relievers gave up 4 runs and Nido is still out there sac bunting when apparently Contreras could have been had?
I have no words other than, we all know how this ends...we've seen this movie 1000x time before.

Just leaving camp. Observations:
-Berrios is the slot receiver. They only ran 2 formations when wilson was in there. Its davis/moore w/ 2 tight ends or davis/moore w/ berrios in the slot and 1 te. Any thoughts that berrios is the #4 receiver should be squashed..
-wr standouts were moore, wilson and mims. Moore had a spectacular 1 handed catch. Wilson is smooth, can get open and has sticky hands. He is ready to play at the nfl level right now. Mimsy size is such an advantage and he had multiple nice catches today.
-Becton came over and hung w the dans a but. Really nice guy. Thevenom towards him should stop.
-Breece hall had a twisting catch down the field that only a few rbs in the league could make. He is special.
Offense won the day!
We did it, Joe! We did it!
Thanks for the notes, hope you had a fun day!

Our entire division cheats, except us and the Bills and go figure, the Jets havent won a SB in 50 years and hold the longest playoff draught in the NFL and Bills have never won a SB.

Part of me feels like theres gonna be a point in the future where people are like “Can you believe Sauce Gardner was not the first CB taken in the draft?”
Agreed, I was strongly in the, people are way underrated Stingley camp but I didnt think he'd ever go before Sauce, honestly.

I noticed in the clip above of the D celebrating the stop to end practice. Sauce has no ass. Like, zero ass. Nothing. Nada. Just legs to a back. Which is odd, because typically great athletes have a nice admirable booty. Not Sauce. That said, it might explain why can do what he can do, there is nothing in the way of his legs to his hips, creating crazy flexibility that allows him to make the cuts he does at full speed.

I'm most excited about Mims tbh. An injury will happen during the season where he'll be able to step in to a more important role. It sounds like he was really working this offseason and I believe his potential is off the charts.
Mims and Becton live up to their draft status this year, book it.

Any time you feel embarrassed for me because I'm dumb, just remember and feel assured, that I'm very handsome and extremely charming and those 2 things will get me through the challenges of every day life.

comeback player of the year 80-1 is worth a sprinkle.
It will be a battle between him and Becton. Do they have offensive and defensive Chad Pennington awards?

1 hour ago, More Cowbell said:I played organized sports as a kid as I am sure many here have as well. The one sport I had the most coaching in was basketball and the coaching was on defense. My coach would tell me to do certain things on D that I never did before like cheating to the middle of the court and essentially giving the player the outside lane. What he was doing ( he told me this later) was he wanted to see how fast I was laterally ( I wasn't fast enough) and he made me do this all the time and I got beat all the time and I was a starter. When we played real games he never told me to do this.
My point is, this is practice. In practice coaches put players in uncomfortable situations to see how they respond. I don't know if this was what happened between the CS, Becton, and Ward, but this isn't something to freak out about. If we see in the first preseason game, Becton is getting beaten like a drum, yeah, that is a time to worry but in immortal words of Allen Iverson, This is practice.
Solid perspective, I too played basketball, I was a shooting guard who the offense revolved around. During installs, I'd call bank on 3's from the wing, I'd try no look elbow passes like I was J. Will, I'd try reverse layups in traffic down the lane and the only time I'd get a lay up in the game, was on a break away because I was shooter. lol
This is precisely why I dont give a **** about any of these camp reports unless they're injury related or like a camp battle update but this tracking of every throw, in practice, is the height of stupidity and people taking the NFL way to ******* seriously. Way too seriously. It's why I often say it's jumped the shark, like, how does any actually believe that is news worthy?
To your point, the first 7 days is largely installs and everything you're reading is meaningless. Literally and utterly meaningless. Becton might get beat trying a technique he'll never try in a game. Wilson and the offense might go 3 and out with plays, that will never see game day or personnel, that will never play a down together during the season. That's what practice is about. Getting worked up because you read about someone getting beat or a 3 and out or a whatever, is just silly overreacting, just like wetting yourself because Wilson threw it long and far for a completion. That is what they're supposed to do, they're ******* professionals. lol
I know we're desperate for Football, but how long have you all been watching this sport? All of this means nothing. Zach Wilson looked like a 10 year veteran in the preseason and proceeded to look like he should have never seen an NFL Football field through the first few weeks last year. Overanalyzing everything little thing right now, is just a waste of time.

Ugh, I have to admit that perhaps I did not explain myself well enough in the OP. So let’s me first say:
**NO ONE HAS BEEN BANNED OR WILL BE BANNED SIMPLY FOR BEING NEGATIVE**
The original post was in response to heavy bickering on the board, threads getting derailed, and posters attacking each other. From my perspective, most of that has come from the somewhat sizable and quite vocal group of folks from the dark side, as it were. But there’s actually been some good conversation in this thread and I can see now that a couple accounts that I find to be rather innocuous are also part of the problem, so I will try to be more direct with those people as well.
No one has outright condoned personal attacks against anyone. It’s personal attacks that I want to see cut down on. If you’re here primarily to instigate arguments and/or simply to get a rise out of people, that’s trolling, and that’s not going to be tolerated.
So let’s try to keep threads on topic. Discuss the content of the post rather than attack the poster. And maybe behave in the way you might in a tavern where you’re hoping not to be punched in the face.
In the meantime, I hope the sarcastic positive posts continue. They’ve actually been something of a breath of fresh air.So if I'm reading this correctly, tag you any time you feel someone is negative and/or has a contrarian view point from yours and they will be taken care of immediately!?!?! I like it, about time!

Deshaun Watson suspended 6 games
in NY Jets Forum
Posted
Meh, I cant speculate on what Watson will or wont do, I have no idea what impact this has had on him and his character, that said, you might hold this over him for his career but by in large, like the picture posted, most people really dont care and I think the casual fan, probably isnt following this all that closely. As soon as he's back out there, throwing TD passes, he's a hero again. Could be wrong but we have a precedence here, this will run it's cycle and be done with, IMO.
