The Official: I had a random thought, so I posted it thread
Borgoguy replied to Jets Babe's topic in The Jets Lounge
Check out this kid. NJ, what say you about his drum chops? I think he's incredible. -
Sorry that it has been a struggle. This past year was a complete cluster f**k for me on many levels. My Mom got sick, then died very quickly after her diagnosis. (But, honestly, she was never the same after I told her I'd left JN a few years ago.) Today is her birthday, which has me completely bummed out. First time in my life she won't be around on her special day. Then, of course, there are the calf murder accusations. What, now vivisection on farm animals is frowned upon in polite society? Who knew? I really need to get a Twitter account. Oh, that reminds me. A few years back, I had what I thought to be a brilliant idea: Start a site banking off Twitter's success with an adult twist. Was going to call it "Twatter". I do a one second internet search and someone else had secured the domain name. Eat me. Hope some of this has assuaged at least a part of your morosity.

Soaring movement beginning at approx. 3:47 is always uplifting.

Hope Murdoch sends a royalty to the Drake Estate. -

Great song. I play it often. Recently, I saw a TV commercial for Sprint. I would have sworn it was Nick Drake in the background. Actually it's Alexi Murdoch, who sounds very much like Drake, both vocally and on guitar. Right? -

KW, I still don't get how I missed Nick Drake. Growing up, I had records for everyone from that era, American and British. For some reason, his worked escaped me. Now, I consider Drake as one of the best songwriters and guitarists in any genre, even if his tunings cause me to break strings once in a while. Love that tune, BTW. Many thanks. I posted this in my Great Ones Thread. It's Nick's home demo of "Fly", which is one of my favorite Drake songs. -
An Ian Hunter masterwork. Bittersweet nostalgia.

It's okay. I still like you, if not appreciably less. BTW, I like sterling roses and H. Billiot Fils Champagne.

Same thing happened to me with Nick Drake. Annie Haslam is an incredible vocalist. Her voice is like the clearest glass. "Carpet of the Sun", from the album Ashes are Burning, was big when I was in high school. I found this live, acoustic, version a few years back. -

Back in the 60s and 70s, it was commonplace for artists/bands of different genres to play on the same bill. In 1976, I saw Angel, Rush, and ZZ Top all on one bill. Phenomenal show. Angel: Talk about cartoonish. But they could play/sing. Check out Barry Brandt's drumming. Also, that's Greg Giuffria on keyboards. -

Yeah, over the years, I saw Pat a few times. Great guitarist and showman. LOL at Loudness. I have not thought of them in a while. Everything the Japanese adapt always seems a little off and cartoonish. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Oi7etAy_mA -

For obvious reasons, most NFL stadiums play "Start Me Up". But, for me, this one is the rouser. No matter how bummed I may be, this number always brings a smile. What a friggin' rhythm. One day, it is my hope that DLJ will entertain me by performing an interpretive dance to this tune as I watch atop a mountain of plush pillows. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q_ZJ1WGPMQk

Nice hours. What time do the girls go on for their first shift? Great that they are "hiring you back". Isn't it amazing how many complete dunces are in positions of authority? Idiots who make decisions impacting our lives and families? (Max, please disregard this post. ) You must miss the food back in Italy. Wish I had compiled all the Verde and DLJ shots posted over the years.

Dom, you're serious about getting terminated? If so, sorry that you are going through it. Are you still in Italy?

Where is everyone?

Sounds like a great bill, even without Alvin. Wishbone Ash was way ahead of the curve in 1970. Very progressive sound.

Alex' gargantuan chords at approx. 1:40 gives me chills every time.
