  1. I think alot of it will depend on what James Robinson can bring to the table on a short week and a new team/playbook. If he can deliver on early downs at 70/80% of what Breece was giving us, I think we'll be in good shape. It takes pressure off of Zach, and it keeps the D on the bench or playing from ahead - and the pats O doesn't scare me at all.

If Robinson can't give us that, I don't think we have a chance. Belichick lives for the opportunity to eat up bad young QBs, and he especially whets his appetite when those bad young QBs are on the Jets.

If Zach does what Zach has done in all 17 of his career starts and it leads to a loss, it's going to be interesting to see how all of the fanboys react after spending the last two years telling us how great Zach is. Will also be curious to see how they defend their stance about Zach being so far and away better than Fields after this past monday night game.

I've had a bad day, so I'm happy to unload on Chris Simms for its cathartic effect. Simms is a smug, arrogant douche whose trying desperately to hang on to his "reputation" as someone that is good at idenifying QB talent because he got lucky on 2 classes by picking the freakiest athletes in each class.

His review of Wilson's performance vs GB is BS. His remark that he did not see Wilson miss any open receivers against Denver is a red herring because you can't tell that without looking at the all 22. Simms can kiss my a$$.

Yep. Chris Simms went so hard in the paint for Zach predraft that he has to back him now despite overwhelming evidence against him.

  3. I can see a very bad game from Zach. The only real way I see of us neutralizing that threat is by having the D create multiple turnovers and rely heavily on the run game. I'm talking like - 15 pass attempts.

Also, masshole sports fans are the worst fans in all of America. Go across all of the 4 major sports and then go down the list of every city that has a professional sports team - you will not find a worse fan base. They are all arrogant, brash, aggressive, and uncouth when things are good, and when things aren't, it's everyone else's fault and they're the victims of conspiracy theories. And when it gets really bad, they abandon ship. The amount of Buccs gear I saw up there over the last two years far outnumbered the amount of Pats gear.

And I'm not even talking about them as people in society - that's a whole other thing. The absolute worst of the worst.

How some of you “fans” made such snide and sarcastic comments and posts about our chances to beat the Pats. As if they were the 19 pats.  Are you guys just that stupid or do you like instigating?

If the 2019 Pats were the last good Pats team, then what the **** have we been doing losing 12 straight to them including 2020-2021?

Belichick eats up young QBs. He destroys bad young QBs. Guess which one Zach is.

The bold reminds me of the 2004 Jets who started out 5-0.  Back in the JI days I recall a lot of people calling that start a mirage too and being reprimanded for it.

That team ended up finishing 5-6 and losing out on the division title as a result.  Yeah, they beat the Chargers in the playoffs but no one ended up being happy with how that season played out.

I'm happy we're 5-2, contrary to popular opinion.  But HOW we're winning games is actually important, because you need to have traits that are sustainable to KEEP winning.  Anyone truly think this team is winning any of the next 3 games while we're forced to lean on Zach Wilson?  Didn't think so.

That was the season that broke me. I was a wide-eyed 18 year old kid thinking we had found a FQB in Chad in '02. '03 was injuries. '04 was going to be our year. Started out 5-0. I was one of those kids that wasn't going to hear any of the negative nellies nonsense. Beat SD back when they were one of the most talented teams in the entire league, and then went to Pitts. And Chad did Chad things again for the entire game. Same as the Oakland playoff game 2 years prior. That's when I knew that he wasn't who I thought he was. It was literally my coming of age game as a sports fan.

I was happy we were 4-2. We had an actual WR corp for only the second time in my life (Braylon, Santonio, Jerricho is still #1). We drafted a stud RB1 for the first time in my life. AVT was on pace to be an all-pro at like 3 positions on the OL. The defense was playing great even if it was against backup QBs. We were winning games that we should have won - that's a rarity for us. Everything was good - except the QB. And we came to internet messageboards to discuss the Jets with other Jets fans, and got called diseased haters and debbie downers because we dared to criticize the worst QB in the league for 17 straight starts.

Well, now all of those people who didn't want to hear it are going to get their chance to take their victory laps - and frankly I hope they do. I'd love to see Zach go out and put the team on his back and win games without Davis, Moore, Mims, Breece, and AVT.

Zach Wilson in 2022 thru week 7 is currently ranked:

    • 32nd in Completion Percentage (57.4%).  He was ranked 31st in 2021 (55.6%).
    • 34th in TD Pass Percentage (1.0%)..  He was ranked 29th in 2021 (2.3%).
    • 17th in INT Pass Percentage (2.0%).  He was ranked 29th in 2021 (2.9%).
    • 23rd in Sack Percentage (7.3%).  He was ranked 32nd in 2021 (10.3%).
    • 19th in Yards Per Attempt (6.9 YPA).  He was ranked 20th in 2021 (6.1 YPA).
    • 28th in Yards Per Game (173.3 YPG).  He was ranked 30th in 2021 (179.5 YPG).
    • 31st in QB Rating (73.6).  He was ranked 31st in 2021 (69.7).

And of course, team record when starting, he was 3-10 in 2021, he is 4-0 this year.

So we see so far this year a ~2% increase in completion percentage, drops in both Pass TD rate and INT rate, a drop in how often he is sacked, an increase in yards per pass attempt, but a slight drop in total passing yards per game.

Ultimately this results in a slightly higher QB rating (Note, not QBR, but the old QB Rating metric).

Great work. I've taken the liberty of color coding them based on progress or regress.

As we can see, this is a continuation of what we saw in Q4 last year:

    - As evidenced by his attempts and attempt-based-metrics, the offense is being designed to limit his exposure knowing that he's nowhere near where he needs to be in terms of taking steps towards being a FQB.

    - As evidenced by his TD% and YPG, when his number is called and he's asked to make throws, he's simply not producing. He's not hitting open guys, his ball placement is bad, and he's struggling to take his shots.

    - As evidenced by his INT% and Sack%, he's done a solid a job of reducing the negative plays, although I do wonder if that's also what's holding him back from better positive production.

Ironically, before the surge of injuries on and off the field, our QB was actually the only position that actually needed to be replaced.

    This.

I've gone above and beyond to call this one of the best assembled Jets teams of my lifetime. I have actual love for Breece and Kwon and Sauce. I've admitted I was wrong about JD after his initial draft. Yet, I've been labeled a hater because I feel like Zach isn't progressing the way he should be and my concern is that over the long run, it's going to hold back this awesome team.

Really makes you think about who the Jets fans are and who the Zach fanboys are.

Since we won again yesterday, I better not see anyone saying anything mean about Zach! You Debbie downers want to be miserable, go do it elsewhere. Zach’s progress has been amazing and if you can’t see that and celebrate the wins, then you’re all just diseased haters!

We saw the offense the last 3 quarters w/o hall or AVT.  It was unwatchable.  It was Darnold level.

What has Zach Wilson or anyone else on this offense shown you that they can go out and put 20 plus points on the board week in and week out.

We could barely complete a pass today.  The worst offense in the league.

We are at defcon 5 my friends.

    That game was indefensible.

He was bad and I am, for first time, really worried about the kid.

It's just really bizarre how so often he struggles to make the most pedestrian throws.

I still think far too many are hard on him fore the wrong reasons.  His decision making is fine, his patience his fine, his movement in the pocket is fine..

His accuracy is just mind benignly awful right now.

Like I said, Ace... I don't know any of the details regarding their relationship.  I didn't say that I never heard of AG.  If we are going to judge Brady for what occurs/occurred between them we need to know the details.  Many people have had a friendship or relationship with an individual that had done some questionable things.  We cant blame one person for the sins/crimes of another even if they had some relationship.

Thus far, I have not seen anything from Brady or examples given by Brady haters to conclude that he is a bona fied Scumbag.  I leave that  label for the likes of Roethlisberger, Vick, Ray Rice, Lawrence Phillips, Kareem Hunt, Antonio Brown, Aaron Hernandez, Romanowski, Ryan Leaf... Etc...

I don't even consider a player like Suh to be a scumbag. He's generally a good fellow that lost his cool on the field a few times.

For some men, I'm guessing Brady conjures up memories of the guy that always beat them out for the lady they liked.

So you've admitted multiple times that you don't know anything about their relationship, but you do know that Guerrero has had a very questionable past, and there is evidence that Brady has also committed crimes or been very unethical even when he didn't commit crimes. And your entire argument is what? That although brady provided the funding, training, equipment, and rationale for a murder, since he didn't pull the trigger, and instead, hired someone who has a history of murder to pull the trigger, he's not a scumbag? Only the person who pulled the trigger is?

No judgement if that's how you feel. You're entitled to being wrong. I just disagree with it.

There was zero evidence of Moore being ‘selfish’ before this

You can both win AND put your best players in position to contribute. Moore is being schemed into a stupid role. He’s basically a decoy, because his routes take too long to develop and Zach can’t read defenses and wait for them to develop. So, similar to QW lashing out about scheme, I don’t disagree with Moore.

I don’t agree with the mindset of “you can criticize or ask for change because you’re winning”. We’re not always going to be able to hide the atrocity that Zach is - and then we’re going to need Moore being used smartly, and for the pip squeak get the ball to him.

Ultimately, Moore isn’t wrong. It’s a problem that needs fixing - even if we’re able yo get away with it right now. Good teams will figure out how to exploit it eventually.

^the only good take in the entire thread.

I agree with Moore, but I hope that this is just a tactic he’s using, and that something changes to keep him happy. Let’s hope Zach is up to that task.

Fortunately, “legal training” is not a prerequisite for posting on this site. One might be able to understand why I’d think you don’t know anything about Alex guerrero given that you started your post with:

I don't know any of the details here, but if this AG guy claimed to be a medical professional, obviously he committed a crime.   I'm not sure if TB actually believes in AG's methods or not.  Hard to say if TB is committing an offense of the mind or the heart by continuing to work with AG.  At the very least, it would be questionable to be involved in any partnership with someone trying to pass themselves off as a doctor.

Dude, you have a lot of posts in this thread defending Tom Brady - and you don't even know anything about Alex Guerrero? The guy has been linked to Brady since the early 2010's. There's so much information out there about this guy, his relationship with brady, and even how he was at the center of the brady belichik breakup.

If you don't know Alex Guerrero, then no offense but you have absolutely no qualifications to be talking about brady at all. Brady, and his buddy Alex Guerrero - are A1 scumbags. Google it and read for yourself.
