  1. That's cute, but simplistic. We were told we got the best player in the draft with Leo Williams, Jamal Adams and Quinnen Williams. Most of this board was stroking Big Mac's coffee cups after each of those selections. I think the OP presents a valid point. Are the Jets a better team picking a CB and having Hall and Echols on the bench, or are they better off filling a more pressing position of need with a top rated player?
  2. A non Jets fan is bored reading about who the Jets might draft. go figure.
  3. Nobody disagrees on the OL situation. They need another OT. But using a high first round pick on a guy that the Jets hope will be a backup or a potential 2023 starter is dumb. if they like Fant, extend the guy already. Becton is a question mark, but as of today he’s a question mark at RT. Draft a tackle in the 3rd or 4th as insurance, extend Fant, and we’re covered for 2022 and beyond.
  4. So we need to draft a run stopper high in the draft to replace a run stuffer we drafted in the 6th round.. and didn’t do a good job stopping the run in Saleh’s system. No doubt they’ll draft a DT somewhere since Saleh needs 18 DL but when they draft an edge high and JFM bounces inside that gives you a decent starting lineup of 1st rounder/ JFM/ Q/ Lawson
  5. Yeah but is it as great as this ?
  6. nope. They're offset by your own FA signings, and we have a bunch
  7. Tennessee doesn't have a $50 million dollar QB and can afford to keep AJ if they choose to. (Although checking the #s, Tannenhill's 2022 and 2023 #s are insane) .. They've brought in Woods to replace Julio, annd AJ has shown no indications of wanting to leave the Titans. This is just some Cimini BS to drive clicks.
  8. I guess he enjoys the warmer weather for beating his wife and kid.
  9. 1) Jermaine Johnson - seems to be a complete player with a good motor and the production last season to match 2) Ahmad Gardner - probably going to be a great player and would help solidify the backfield, but I'm ready to shank the next full grown man who refers to him as 'Sauce'. If he didn't have the nickname, half of this board would have no clue who he was.
  10. Quite a hot take there. Trade for a guy who just received a contract extension from his team and is no longer on the trade block.
  11. The lesson in 2022 is that the cap doesn't matter nearly as much as most of us assumed. If you don't give out bad contracts, and have a savvy GM, you can almost always manipulate your cap situation so that it's a non issue. Jets fans like cap space because it creates optimism and hope every offseason that this will be the year that we will finally be able to improve. But having so much cap space year after year is the result of not having enough homegrown players worth paying. I do think there's a big difference in spending to spend, and building a roster. The problem I have is that building a roster and using the majority of cap space should go hand in hand, yet it always feels like the Jets end up sitting every year on a pile of money while fielding a mediocre (at best) squad).
  12. Off the top of my head.. Atlanta? Doing a quick depth chart search - Green Bay (Lazzard/Cobb/ some dude named Taylor) Houston (Cooks/ Nico Collins/Conley) Bears (Mooney/ Pringle/ St Brown) That's all I've got. JD needed to get a #1 this off season. He failed. Right now our WR room is a huge downgrade from a year ago. I really think we need to double dip at WR. One in the first and another in the 3rd or 4th. Not ideal to rely on rookies, but we can't go into the season relying on Davis or Moore to stay healthy or Mims to show up.
  13. Nah, it's just a dumb thing that gets posted around here anytime they want to make fun of JD. A guy looking down at his phone is always good for a laugh.
  14. Any smokescreen that the Jets won't be drafting a WR in the 1st round just got blown up.
  15. That was a fun hour. Now we get to face off against this a$$hole two times a year.
  16. The packages are similar. KC is letting Hill choose where he wants to go.
  17. Dolphins and Jets. Feels like the Chiefs are trying to scare Tyreek into taking less money.
  18. From the last three years of JD, I can't see how this is in anyway true. That said, mixed feelings on it. I don't give a crap about the $$$. Plenty of other teams have shown the cap is a farce. We need major help at WR and Hill is elite. But he's an a$$hole. No way are we giving up two #1s in any deal. Nor should we.
  19. If the Jets think they need to use another first round pick on an OL, that’s pretty much worst case scenario. To spend back to back 1s and still need 1st round help? Absurd. if they are weary with Becton, draft a RT in the 3rd to give him competition.. and we need the depth anyway. But not top 10. Edge and WR. Big play guys on both sides of the ball at two positions where we need help.
  20. HAS to be a conditional 6th..... right?
