The Titans didn't win under Young because he was a good Quarterback, or had Intangibles, or anything of the sort. They won under Young because they have a good football team, one that can play a power running game along with their top Defense.
It's the same reason they were the #1 Seed in the AFC last year with Kerry Collins behind center, and certainly nobody thinks a ton about Kerry Collins.

we have enough "good wrs." see if you can find a great FA WR thats worth the money as opposed to drafting one of the many talented WRs with our 1st pick.
There isn't a Great FA WR. That's the problem. Nor does it sound like any of the teams rumored to trade their star WR plan on actually pulling the trigger.
Leaving only the draft.

Citing his career record is a little bit ridiculous, I mean, it's a team game and it's not Cutler's fault that his defense has been abysmal his entire NFL Career.
-
Guess that puts the "Ray Lewis had first crack" rumors to sleep.
Not necessarily, I mean, we all know tampering goes on in this league, they probably knew Lewis's (And Scott's) contract demands well before Free Agency began and decided to pursue Scott instead.
-
I think you're underrating Leonhard, he was a really nice player for Baltimore last year, was selected to wear the radio in the helmet over Ray Lewis, Bart Scott, Terrell Suggs, Haloti Ngata, ect. Definately an upgrade over what we currently have. Of course, so would Sean Jones and a couple other Free Agents so I don't think it's a must-sign scenario.
Dead on about Ivy though. He's Poteat with another name, no big loss.

Tannenbaum was hardly schooled.
All the 2nd round clause was just insurance on the Jets part that if Jonathan Vilma was so good that the Saints couldn't risk him hitting the open market, that we'd be well compensated for it. I don't think for a minute that the Jets ever counted on receiving that draft pick.
I will say though, giving 17 million guaranteed to someone with a known knee condition seems like a bad deal from the Saints end. He's one bad tackle away from never being the same again.

Good news IMO, I'd like to see Coles had to Cincinnati (to replace Housh) and not Buffalo. Coles teamed with Evans and Hardy could be dangerous.
-
I love Jay Cutler, but lets use our brains here. They're weren't going to trade him at all, and any chance of him being dealt ended with Matt Cassel going to Kansas City.
-
He was abused badly by the Marlins over the years and his arm doesn't have the same life to it that it used to now. Add in his control steadily declining the last 4 years and that was a trainwreck in the making.

That would help, thanks. Of course, I feel like a dumbass now, lol
Guess you can close this or something.

More posts per page would make this board a lot quicker to read, IMO.
It's kinda a pain in the ass to click next page every 5 or whatever posts.

I'm confused.
How are the Giants going to find playing time for:
Osi Umenyiora
Mathias Kiwanuka (they say he isn't going back to LB)
Justin Tuck
Fred Robbins
Barry Coefield
Chris Canty
Rocky Bernard
The talk is that Robbins and/or Cofield might get released, as they're coming off of Knee Surgeries and apparently the Giants have some doubts that one or both of them can get back to the player he used to be.
-
They're still not going to deal him, they'll sit him down with McDaniels and the new GM, they'll smooth things over and all will be well again. Maybe they'll even give him a big fat extension to help smooth things over. Really, QBs as good as Cutler don't get dealt.
-
**** that, sign Rodney Harrison. I think he'd be great in Ryan's system + would signify the Manvagina era is truly over.
Because nothing signifies the Mangini era is over like signing an Ex-Patriot
-
If Warner signs this will pretty much guarantee that either Sanchez or Stafford will be available at pick #17
Not really, Warner is going to be 38. At most he gives you maybe 2 years. I'm not passing up a Franchise QB if one is available for a short-term answer like Warner. Instead I take him and tell him in 2 years it's his team. Until then, sit down, shut up, and learn.
-
Too old, Sean Jones is a much better target if we don't get Leonhard.
-
I doubt Warner leaves, he's most likely just looking for an offer to pressure the Cardinals into ponying up.
-
Um.... Why?
The Jets work a lot of contracts like that. Pace and Rhodes's deals were structured similarly and we restructured them last week. Brandon Moore's was also structured this way and we cut him (Only to later resign him). I think the thought process is that it helps financial flexability down the line as we have the choice of the lump sum payment, or a restructure, or a cut. Also, we get a year of the player in the system to determine if he's worth the big money, and if he is, we restructure. If he's not, he's gone.
-
He's always had the reputation as a great blocker, not sure about the penalties, although I'm sure someone can look it up.
-
"The Broncos firmly maintain that they never intended to trade Cutler, that they were approached to make the trades."
In other words, much ado about nothing.
-
McNabb's got 2 years left on his contract, and if he reaches that point without an extension they'll probably just Franchise him. I really don't see any scenario where they trade him.
-
Dude, they're not going to trade Cutler. All "Entertaining the idea" means is they didn't slam the phone down when the Pats tossed them the idea.
-
You can have him. That bullsh*t dance he does during introductions would never, ever, fly with the NE crowd at Gillette.
Bronzey's referring to Jim Leonhard, not Ray-Ray. Chowd.
-
It sounds like they need the money to keep Wilfork and Mankins long-term, obviously they need some room for things like draft picks as well. I don't think they have close to 10 million spare for someone like Ray-Ray. Maybe a lesser signing though.

Probably not the place for it, but about your signature....
