Boozer76
Well two things really: 1. It was long overdue, he had been banned before, fought with almost everyone and like I said was overdue. I actually like him, seems like a good good, that is why I was always reluctant. So this is definitely my bad...we will be faster cleaning up stuff like this going-forward. You are a long time and respected poster, send me your list, lol. 2. I have to say the Visa was really disrespectful to the Bar-Top Bandits. And at the end of the day, nobody puts the Bar-Top Bandits in the corner. Nobody. Honestly, this makes me wanna hang around alot more. He was getting unbearable

Maxman
I couldn't handle that. Godspeed. I honestly don't think I could handle it either. I have driven from NJ to Orlando like 800 times with the kids. But a bus full of Jets fans might actually be more painful. Plus NY to Miami adds a lot to that trip. joebabyny
so these ladies make money dealing with drunken football fans at tailgate parties ? hope they bring a pimp lol No, some of them are just friends of mine who are coming to enjoy the party like everyone else, they aren't working, lol. They are actually a performance troupe that does singing and dancing at clubs and bars around the country.
joebabyny
I'm not a huge fan of the over-commercialized tailgate, but because it indirectly got Visa banned, it's worth my money for at least one trip this year. When the food starts to suck, then you can call it overcommercialized. At the end of the day, I still serve the same stuff I served when it was me and 10 friends 11 years ago. I could easily hire a caterer at 5-10 bucks a head and pocket the difference. Instead, at the end of the season I just want to be not-in-the-red. I have made some very good real friends, gotten on tv, raised a nice little amount for charity, and enjoyed some great jets football with new and old friends, while at the same time sharing the whole gameday experience with a lot of people who have no alternative. But please, if anyone has any good ideas on how to further commercialize and make myself rich with all this, I am all ears. I loves the money, hahaha!! It's very impressive. And, the time that I went, the food was great. Also, whatever you've done through charity through this is a nice thing. Having said that, your numbers: 300 people (this thread) X $30 average (your site) X 8 regular season home games is $72,000 a year. That doesn't include preseason or the road trips (at an incredible $50 a person). It's insulting to the rest of us to pretend like this isn't a business. Again, which is your prerogative, but if a catering company can do it for $5-$10 a person (this thread), I just don't see the teetering on 'in the red'. You deserve to make money off what you're doing. You're providing a service that a lot of people appreciate and value. But, for me, and maybe it's just me, and this goes all the way back to 16H, being a little less disingenuous about what you're doing would go a long way. Anyway, keep up the good work. You certainly don't need my approval, and by all measures, you've created something very successful.

Maxman
If Joe is the man behind the curtain, does that make Visa the witch who had a house dropped on him? lol..... I can honestly say I have no idea how the math breaks down. I do hope Joe is making money on it and like I told him in the beginning there is no way I wanted anything to do with cooking hamburgers for people. Being late for the games is nothing I want a part of. That is why I eat and run. I do think the part that most people don't figure though is what happens when the Jets lose two in a row. Or it rains and nobody is at the tailgate. But those are all Joe's problems, lol. I will be the guy in front of the TV, eating a hamburger. The point is that we're being sold the idea that we're paying a token fee just to cover his costs and he's doing this for our benefit. It's a marketing strategy, and one that's pretty insulting... "We're not a business, we're you're friends... just like the other 299 people here". As for him "acting like he's losing money": Instead, at the end of the season I just want to be not-in-the-red. You call someone disingenuous, which is a more polite way of calling them a liar, and then when I react it is proof of my disingenuousness? Sorry if I feel the need to stick up for myself when I am being called dishonest and a liar, if that is an indictment against me in someone's eyes than so be it. Max can vouch that my party is filled with my actual friends and their friends, maybe up to half the crowd or more, because i don't average 300 people per game. And Max can also vouch for some of my closest friends, the ones who actually help me pull this off, are guys I met from doing these tailgate parties. Put lets not let the truth get in the way when we can manufacture a number and not take into account all the variables that also play into it and just assume we can figure out what this whole thing entails. Also, it isn't a token fee, it is a nice amount of money, especially these days, and I am aware of that, but I also know that not one person has really ever been disappointed or thought they didn't get their money's worth. I cook like I cook for my friends and family, because a lot of my friends and family are there, including my parents, 3 of my siblings, nephews, and bunches of friends. Going to the best places for the best stuff costs money. When I use prime grade steaks that you can't buy in a costco or supermarket, when I travel into the city every week to buy the best fresh made italian sausage in all of NYC, and when I have to dump half of it because I take the safe approach and plan for way more than show up, i have to charge what I charge. Then we go and have hi def sat tv and other amenities, and unfortunately it can't be a token amount of money. In the end, I am NOT in the food business, other than this I am not a catering company. I am a gameday fanclub/tailgate party. A place for friends and fans who don't have the ability or desire to do it on their own but want to come somewhere to enjoy the experience with other fans. It is never a feel of a corporate or pro catered party, people feel like they are with a bunch of friends tailgating, because they really are. And honestly, the last thing i really need to be is cast as some big commercial enterprise, because that will just bring the whole party to an end, but I guess you can't help it when someone just decides to go on blast on the internet for no real good reason, other than they feel "insulted" by something that doesn't even really concern them. And with that, I think I am done with discussing this topic.

I think they're all high quality. I've said this before, and probably 4 or 5 times in the thread. In the end, I am NOT in the food business, other than this I am not a catering company. It is never a feel of a corporate or pro catered party, people feel like they are with a bunch of friends tailgating, because they really are. And, here is where we have a difference of opinion. When you have a website, an appearance on television, media coverage, a message board promoting you, and an invitation to others to join you, and prepay for the chance to do so, "in the food business" is exactly what you are. You're building a brand. Successfully, as I've also complimented many times in this thread. My compliments to you on what you've done one last time. It's impressive and it's high quality. I don't think it's 'corporate', but I think it's clear that it's more than just you and your buddies, whether that be by design or by accident. I don't want to fight with you because in our limited dealings, I think you're a good dude. I respect the work you've put into this, and I'll leave it at that.
