greeniemeanie
This game was a bad game, but guess what? As SoFlaJets stated, we can't win 'em all. For starters, Schotty sucks, he always will. So, that should surprise nobody when we run the ball where a pass would make sense, and pass, where a run would make sense. Schotty is not a good coordinator, but we KNOW this. The defense was putrid. period. The oline, was not as bad as I thought they would be at times, and worse then I could ever have imagined, at other times. The Ref's were putrid. period. They made phantom calls for defensive holding, but they did that in the vikings - lions game too. A memo must have went out from NFL headquarters. Either way, they were putrid, and an aggressive defense, like ours, will always be on the short end of the stick in a situation like that. Cromartie is not smart. He let the ref's take him out of his game. Poor job by the coaching staff to not reel him in. This Jet's team was going to lose to a team that they should have beaten. Every team does so, every year. We need more consistency, but, this loss may end up causing more good than bad in the long run. It's a long season. The one thing I know, more than I have ever known before, is that we have a coach that makes adjustments, and wins. Let's all remember 45 - 3 vs. the Pat's last year. Didn't that work to our favor? I'm not worried. I'm relaxed. These Jets will respond, and because of it, they will be a better team. There is no way that we should have lost today, but we did. I have faith that the Jets will turn it into a positive. That's all that they have done since Rex came to town. Go Jets!!!

The pursuit to the outside was horrid. Cro didn't have a great game, but lets face it... 2 of those calls should have never been made. One (the 1st) was questionable cause the ball was probably uncatchable. The PI call when he grabbed the guys hip was the only one that was clearly the correct call. The pass rush was also putrid, but thats probably because we had to have our LB's and safeties available to stop the run. Offensively, our OL held their own in the 1st... But it was clear that they got tired and worn down trying to block a good DL, and got beat because if it in the 2nd. Losing Mangold hurts, but the damage wasn't as bad as it could have been. Our receivers NEED to do a better job of getting separation vs man to man coverage. Holmes had only one catch... Keller dissappeared for 2 1/2 quarters... Mason had his best day as a Jet today. T0mShane
Also, it's gonna be a crazy year in the NFL anyway. Pats lose to the Bills, Eagles lose to the Giants, Redskins are winning. Its one of those years where ten games wins your division in most places.

greeniemeanie
Can't win them all is a great attitude to have when you expect to lose. Talk to me when we are 2-3 and wondering what the eff. Heck of an attitude to walk around with. Guess what, like you, I know that one day I will die, but that doesn't mean that I can't enjoy my life while I am living it. Just like that, the Jets may be 2-3, but they may not. Either way, one day you wake up to realize that the journey is the part to enjoy the most. The destination, well, that's always the end. I choose to enjoy the journey. So, maybe this is the beginning of a downward spiral that this Jets' season is about to head into? Maybe, it's not. I would rather enjoy the moments of the season, rather than to look back at it and realize that I missed all the fun because I was too worried about what might happen next. Just my .02 I don't expect the Jets to lose, but I also have learned, that it's never as bad as you think it is, nor as good. Go Jets!!!

Knowing this as we all (or most of us) do, how do you feel about the tough decisions it will take to win playoff games ? if we get into close games where there are no blowouts and critical decisions have to be made in every game vs top notch defenses do you trust Shotty to make the correct calls or will he sh*t the bed like he did last year ? This is what scares me the most even more than having to hope older WR's can make it through the season. Whats also scary is a team that has not been able to pass for years ran the ball down our throats. The Ravens Steelers and Bills can do both

stoicsentry
There were a lot of bizarre calls in this game, and they weren't confined to Cromartie. WTH kind of roughing the passer was that when they called that against Wilkerson? He barely even shoved him. Two drives later, Sanchez releases and a Raider (just as late) SMASHES him to the ground - no flag. Not saying we owe the loss to the refs, not at all... but they just compounded the problems.
