Francona on his way out of Boston.

Stupid.

Very. Theo is the one who pieces the team together. Tito did the best with what he could. Guy wins two championships and is treated like dirt. I'd love to see the list of potential replacements. I highly doubt any of them could have done any better.

Some team is going to get lucky when they make him the manager. At least Tito can get healthy somewhere where there is less pressure. The Sox job put a ton of wear and tear on the guy.

According to multiple sources with knowledge of the meeting, Francona was in part annoyed over complaints about the buses to the ballpark and wanted players to focus their energy more positively.

Meanwhile, a number of players put themselves into a position to have their professionalism called into

question

. According to multiple sources, more than one pitcher drank beer in the clubhouse during games on the days he didn’t pitch.

lol, Beckett what a slob.

...I bet Wake was drinking too. Ever see his face? "Lobstah" red half the time. No wonder some people were saying the picthers looked fat.

Larry Lucchino is doing overtime today. Marketing wheels keep on turning, RSN keeps on burning....rolling, rolling, rolling on the Charles River..... (Lucchino deserves to fall into that dirty water he says he loves so much and get a severe case of dysentery)

Terry Francona was the best manager in Red Sox History.

Stupid people.

Yeah, Beckett was a fat bastard this year. They all looked out of shape.

And now Wakefield wants to come back to get the Red Sox all time wins record. What a guy he is.

“I’ve definitely made up my mind that I definitely want to come back next year,’’ Wakefield said. “I have another goal in front of me that I’d like to accomplish, and that’s the all-time record for the Red Sox in wins. I’m only seven away. I think the fans deserve an opportunity to watch me chase that record. We’ll see what happens.’’

That's really not saying much about Francona himself.

The Red Sox have always been a disaster franchise. It won't take long before Boston becomes a joke, just like they've always been. He's earned that role and title of "best manager" by default.

I can't imagine many managers being good with the Red Sox, keep in mind, this is the same franchise who went I believe 86 years between championships.

For the ways the Red Sox played during the month of September... He deserves to be fired. He's the manager.

Theo Epstein deserves the boot far more than Terry Francona.

Meh, I hate the entire Front Office. Blow the place up.

You only hate the front office because they're losing. But yet, you loved the front office after two world series championships.

Typical Boston Nation fans.

Loved them? They spent close to a decade hailing Epstein as a "genius!" John Henry was their savior! The only one who was ever disliked was Lucchino but that's because he's an obnoxious douche. He's the Randy Levine of Red Sox nation.

Wrong.

That's what happens when you assume, Grasshopper. I have dispised the Front Office since the day they became the front office. Sure, I was happy with the first WS win....for the City of Boston and my countless Red Sox fan friends. Not for those rotten scoundrels running the team. The whole purchase had a stench to it.....and now it stinks to high heaven. I understand the Nomar trade worked out - but the campaign to smear him to soften the blow and get fans on their side - made me sick to my stomach and made me realize what a POS Lucchino really was.

So, do not ever call me a hypocrit sports fan. I'm a lot of things - but not that. If anything, I'm gloating and piling on. I was right...usually am ;)

I can not believe he won't be back...great, great day for Yankees fans.

The guy brought 2 WS championships to a title starved fanbase. He deserved better.

I'll still root for the Sox, but this has left a bad taste in my mouth. Either that, or Max ate a lot of asparagus.

It's official. The Sox made Tito a scapegoat because you can't fire the players and their guarenteed contracts. Pathetic.

I'll be very interested to see who they bring in because it's going to have to be an a complete culture change and shock.

True, but if the rumors about drinking in the clubhouse by pitchers and that has been your biggest problem the last two years, he is partially to blame. He allowed it to happen.

The problem with being a players coach is it can comeback and bite you in the a$$ as well. All the 'leadership' from the two titles are gone or minimized, maybe a Mike Lowell would have told Youk to ease up on riding Ellsbury into July when Ellsbury is having a huge year and Youk cannot seem to stay on the field for the second yea in a row.

In the last two years, there have been more leaks in the Boston clubhouse than the previous 6 seasons under Francona. He is not to blame, but he is right in the fact that they might need a new voice to hear.

It would be like us firing Rex in 2017 after 2 Super Bowl victories because he is a loud mouth.
