King picks Dolphins over Jets

From Peter King's Weekend Pickoff:

Miami Dolphins (0-4) at New York Jets (2-3) "People want to throw dirt on us," Rex Ryan said the other day. They will if the 0-4 Dolphins come north and win on Monday night. I just don't trust anything the Jets are doing on offense. It must take some lack of faith for me to pick Matt Moore to win a national TV game on the road.

Maimi 23, NYJ 20

Would it be all that shocking if it happened? The Dolphins have split with the Jets each of the last two years...and that's when the Jets were good.

They swept us back in 2009 by a combined 9 points. We split last year.

They've won 3 of the past 4 matchups against us, but then again, they no longer have Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams to ground and pound with. Because of that, they can no longer fall back on the wildcat formation to ease pressure off of Matt Moore as they've done with Ronnie Brown/Williams to protect Chad Henne from our defense.

The Wildcat was only a factor in one of those games.

And Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams were two of the most ineffective backs in the NFL last year. Daniel Thomas is much better this year.

I haven't lost faith in our ability to this year turnaround, but winning this game is paramount.

if we lose this week, at home against the Dolphins, and start the season at 2-4, with the Chargers, Buffalo, and Pats up next, we're in deep dog doo-doo.

All that said, I think we win big this week.

Neither team has anything to win for, and the Dolphins have something to lose for, so the Dolphins will win. Science.

But if the Jets lose it increases the chance of Schotty getting fired, which would be actually something positive, so that can't happen, right? Or will the Jets pull off the upset over the Chargers next week to keep that from happening?

if the Jets lose on Monday how many fire Schotty threads win there be on Tuesday?

We don't know.

If the season plays out true to form, this is the game where the defense allows 35 points and the Jets lose 35-28. Against the Chargers is when the O scores 10 points and the Jets lose 13-10 and everyone will be screaming for Schitty's head

Matt Moore doesn't stand a chance against our secondary. If we can keep Bush under wraps we'll be straight this game. Everyone's going to pick against the Jets because it's the hot trend. Those idiot media parasites do nothing but follow trends. "Oh, they lost 3 in a row? They're terrible, they will lose to the worst team in the league with a backup QB" Lollercoaster. Why aren't the media reporters holding the Eagles to the same standards? They are 1-4, projected to win the superbowl, yet they are still favored every week, and rated high in the power rankings. Talk about blatant bias.
