JerryK Posted November 18, 2011 Share Posted November 18, 2011 Bad teams let the coach be 'buddies' with a coordinator. The Lions have done this for years. They accepted their staff as a package, which permits them to suck longer because the only alternative is to blow the whole team up. Remember Romeo Crennel? He's gone, but the HC is still there. And they win. The Colts haven't been afraid to bounce an assistant either. (or a QB, but that remains to be proven) If Rex is going to dinner with the Schottenheimers etc... this is an ownership flaw. Woody needs to enforce a wall of separation between coaches and assistants. Otherwise, we'll have nothing but a huge bucket of suck for continued generations.
