What are the Yankees doing?

Have they made any moves? Has anybody made any moves? Is it because the free agent class is so weak?

Maybe the Yankees are trying to not set the market for once and avoid overpaying?

Is that even possible?

The pace just seems slower than usual. I am not complaining about that....when the Yankees don't make a stupid free agency splash I feel like they have a better shot of winning.

Free agency/off-season moves really doesn't pick up until after Thanksgiving and at the winter meetings, which is usually early December (believe they are starting Dec. 5h) though most of the big names wont sign till just before or just after Christmas. At least that's what I've noticed over the years. The

Yankees acquired LHP Cesar Cabral from the Royals for cash considerations.

The Royals selected Cabral from the Red Sox in Thursday's Rule 5 Draft. The 22-year-old left-hander posted a 2.95 ERA this season while striking out 70 over 55 innings between High- and Double-A. He'll try to make the Yankees' bullpen out of spring training.

22 year old bullpen lefty is a nice move considering it only cost money.

Jeter's still on the team? That's so cute that the Yankees still allow that to happen. Aww.

Hall of Fame shortstops are hard to come by (hey now). Just glad the Yankees don't lose their players to the Miami Marlins!

The posting fees for Darvish is $40 million payable to the Japanese team, which does not include the cost of a 5-year contract payable to him; figure another $15 million for him. So that's a probably $100 million for a guy who despite good size has neve rthrown a pitch to an MLB batter, unless you count a few innings of the WBC. That annualized is more or equal to Halladay and Sabbathia's contracts. No thanks.

Who was that 98 year-old third baseman from Cuba that that Yankees paid huge money for?

Why? Sox pen was pretty bad at times and he pitched well in the minors.... if he pitches well in spring training for the Yankees a spot in our pen is his to loose.

He pitched well in the minors because of his deceptive delivery. Major league hitters figured it out a few years ago and it's not hard for them to hit an 87 mile an hour fastball.

Yanks sign Delcarmen to minor-league deal

By: DJ Bean

2

Former Red Sox pitcher and Hyde Park native Manny Delcarmen has signed a minor-league contract with the Yankees, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reported Monday evening.

Delcarmen, who was selected in the second round of the 2000 draft by the Sox, played for Boston from 2005-10, before being traded to the Rockies. He split the 2011 season in the minor leagues between the Mariners and Rangers organizations, but did not throw a pitch in the majors.

In his career, Delcarmen has a 3.97 earned run average and 249 strikeouts in 292 2/3 innings.

Nice signing for depth...I mean the Yanks have by far the deepest pen in baseball....Signing Manny is a low cost option in case of injuries

Another solid move by Cash
