Of course we're making the playoffs. Anyone who says otherwise hasn't watched the other three teams lately. The Jets aren't as bad as some here just LOVE to think.

The Jets are so as bad as we LOVE to think. It's just the rest of the league is worse than we think.

Next week the Jets should win, and the rest of the teams should lose.

That should happen every week!

LOL QUE

I are serious IJ

Since the Broncos game, you'd read this board and think we're the Colts. We're a decent team, around the same level we've been at this point in the last two seasons when the sky was also falling on here. We can still make the playoffs, in fact we should, and once we do, we could be dangerous, like we've been under Ryan or we could suck.

Have the Jets beat a good team this season?

Irrelevant.

Oakland: Don't forget they have to play Denver again. 1 of them has to lose that game, so it could shake things up.

Cincinatti: Looked god-awful today against Pittsburgh and has to play Baltimore again still.

Tennessee: Has the Saints and Texans coming up... should easily lose 1 of those 2 if not both.

I think we have a good chance if we win out or even drop 1 vs. Giants or Eagles.

Have the Jets beat a good team this season?

How many good teams have they played?

The Pats twice, and the Ravens. 0-3.

Well, the Cowboys are a winning team and the Jets have beat them.

The Bengals 7 wins have come against teams with a combined winning percentage of .350.

The Titans may be the best of the WC contenders for that 6th spot, but they're remaining sched isn't easy.

As much as I hate to say this, we'll never beat the Giants with this pop-gun offense. They looked horrible for 52 min, until we scored 3 quick TD's. Giants&Miami games scare me. Man that Denver game killed us.

Giants defense is all based on the D-Line. If our O-Line plays like they did today, we could beat them easily.

We have to stop Eli Manning, and Wilson NEEDS to be on Cruz. Cromartie would get demolished by him.

Cowboys are the best team we beat. And that was more luck than anything else.

As for the other teams, it doesn't really matter. Best case scenario, we get in at the 6, pull Houston, then get annihilated in the next round by one of the 3 good teams in this conference.

One game at a time.

I really with Rex would lose the fan mentality and not look forward to and discuss playoffs like we do as fans. Also wish Rex would hold people accountable for mistakes and stop lauding them like they are all-pro's when they fulfill the basic requirements of playing their position... but hey, who am I to be pushy?

The Jets can not lose another game if they want to make the playoffs, and to tell you the truth there is an outside chance that won't be good enough. I would be shocked if either Tennesse, or Cincy, went worse than 3-1 with there schedules. There hardest games are there last, but both of those teams Houston, and Baltimore, might be just going through the motions week 17 getting ready for the playoffs with nothing left to play for, the Jets screwed the pooch with Denver, and Oakland, not to mention there is no way in hell with our Offense that we would beat the Dolphins next week hopefully, by week 17 that changes.

Some people around here need to face reality, the Jets are not that good, there is no offensive threat in the backfield, Plax is slow, Holmes is good, but the O is not designed to his skill set, its designed for 3 yards and a cloud of dust, Rex wants drives like today 17 plays 9 minutes, unfortunatly we don't have the O-line or consistency to pull that off every week, Sanchez's accuracy is attrocious, Schotty's play calling is attrocious, and our Safety play is the Worst in regards to the pass in the league. Listen I root my a$$ off every sunday for this team, and really hope they can find a way to win these last 4 games, to do that something has to give in these areas that were struggling in, either Mark has to find that accuracy, with Schotty getting his head out of his a$$ and actually get a feel for a game, and whats working, and our Special Teams HAS to stop making mistakes, this is the only way the Jets will win ALL 4 games.

Reality: Jets are 7-5 with 4 winnable games remaining. :)

They have to win those winnable games, just like Oakland, and Denver, were "winnable games". Trust me I really am rooting for them to pull this off, but Im just being honest on my opinion of the team, ALOT has to be fixed, it starts with some coaches, and alot of player personel changes. Specifically RT, RB, TE, WR, OLB, and S. Not looking for pro bowlers at every position, but I would like serviceable at every position.

To further go into these, coaching, Rex needs to take back the D, Pettine is to inconsistent, obviously Schotty has to go, there needs to be a change at the head of the Offense.

Player personel, RT, we need a RT who can actually pass block, I blame this on Rex, I think when he evaluates OL talent he only looks at the run blocking aspect, to go along with his ground and pound philosophy, IE Hunter, and Ducasse, neither will ever be good at pass blocking.

RB We need a player with an explosive dynamic to the backfield, LT is to old, McNight is to inconsistent, and can't pass block, Greene is a 1 trick pony 3 yards and a cloud of dust, Powell is an incomplete don't know what he truley is, but most good Offenses have an explosive RB on there roster, whether it be the feature back, who can do it all, or a specialist type 3rd down back, IE Sproles type back.

TE We need a TE who can actually play everydown, meaning be able to run block, and pass catch, we need to elimanate the need to bring in an extra OL at TE, or a TE who can't catch a cold, or run a pass route further than 3 yards (Mulligan). This will help disguise our plays, by not having to go jumbo every time we want to run the ball, and give away our play call with our personel.

WR Mark needs a solid #2 opposite Holmes, someone who can stretch the field

OLB The Jets need to establish a foundation with OLB's its the single most important position in the 3-4 D in being able to get to the QB, I like Maybin, but lets face it he is a specialist, and Thomas, and Pace are getting old fast, and don't really get to the QB, we need to commit some serious draft picks to this position, to keep it solid for the future.

S I don't think I need to explain this, we all know E. Smith couldn't cover Rex, and Leohnard is a SS not a FS, he is way to small, we can live with one of them, by one I mean Leohnard, at SS, but we need a solid cover FS. If Rex wants to keep E Smith around thats fine but he can only be used in a hybrid LB type role like Ihedigbo was used last year.

i think we stand a good shot at making the playoffs, the teams we're up against have harder remaining schedules and aren't any better then us to begin with

I think it's hilarious the Bengals are being pushed still. They're next in line after the Bills.

I think the loser of the Christmas Eve game doesn't go to the playoffs. Of course, I base this on nothing since I pay attention to nothing.

The team we will have to worry about the most is Tennesse, if we get to 10-6 and they get to 10-6 they hold every single tie breaker no matter who they lose if its the Saints they finish 8-4 in the AFC to our 7-5, if they beat the Saints and lose to an AFC team and go 10-6, we tie on AFC record at 7-5, but lose on common opponent they beat the Ravens, Bills, Broncos, and lost to Jaguars with 1 to play vs them, so if they lose to the Jaguars we both go 3-2 in common opponents, then it goes to strength of victory they will have NO, Houston, and Baltimore under there belt if they go 3-1 and Jacksonville being the loss, we would have Dallas, and thats about it in the victory category so we would lose that tie breaker. If there loss is to NO and go 3-1, they beat us in confrence record at 8-4, to our 7-5. Im not worried about Oakland, and Denver one of them will finish 9-7 or worse, and if we tie with the Bengals at 10-6 we have the tie breaker, with common opponent, all these scenarios are assuming our lose would be against either the Giants, or Eagles, if its against either the Dolphins, or Chiefs, we lose every tiebreaker to every team Broncos, Raiders, Titans, and Bengals, at 10-6.

So beware of the Titans they are the real threat to our postseason dreams, outside of ourselves.

This of course is based on the premise that you don't believe in Cincy, so you either think they won't get to 10 wins or if they do there 1 loss will be vs 1 of there 2 remaining AFC teams either this week vs Houston, or week 17 vs Baltimore, there 2 NFC opponents are @Rams, and home vs Cardinals, if there 1 lose comes from the NFC then they beat us on tie breakers with AFC record, but im going on the premise you don't believe in them as per your comment.

I on the other hand do believe in Cincy, more so because of there remaining schedule, they have a real good shot at beating Houston this week, they have a very good run defense, and Houston will be without AJ, and there QB is Yates, and then I think they beat both NFC west teams, and head into week 17 against the Ravens at 10-5, and a win and in scenario, and the Ravens could be playing for nothing, and IMO its not out of the question for them to go 11-5, and lock us out of the playoffs even if we go 11-5.

Problem is 2 of those teams beat us.

We have the Giants who are going to destroy our O-line and probably kill Sanchez

And we have a red hot Dolphin team

Its not going to be easy unless all of those other teams just comepletely sh*t the bed

Yeah Thomas has been terrible at getting to the QB this season...
