SMC
Tom & Jason, on your points about Chandler-Camby, Chandler is bigger and stronger than Camby, although not as good as a shot blocker. I remember Knicks playing Dallas and Chandler towered over everyone. He's a legit 7'1".
Aten
Wow. The Lakers just swiped McRoberts for the room exception. We'd better be sitting on something better than Baron/Crawford/Shawne.

Yep, and Crawford reportedly got a 2 yr offer for $10 mill from the Pacers, twice what he can get from the Knicks unless they're dumb enough to do a sign-and-trade

I didn't think he'd sign for the 2.5, but if that's the deal McRoberts got then we ought to be holding out for better.

Aten
They're holding out for Iverson. Now Denver's about to get Fernandez for nothing. Maybe things will get interesting between now and Friday but I think we're dicking around with players who aren't worth it and blowing all sorts of opportunities. Aten
I agree. Who do you think the Knicks should be targetting? McRoberts for two years at 2.5 per would have been perfect. We're probably going to end up with Shawne for that which is comparatively terrible. Maybe everybody will totally forget about Kris Humphries or something. I'd be looking to address depth behind Chandler and Amare instead of screwing around with interchangeable pieces in the backcourt like the Knicks are doing. Douglas and Fields are better than Bibby, Barea, Crawford, Davis, etc.
Aten
Reggie Evans for mini-MLE and Alonzo Gee for the minimum?
Aten
Conflicting reports on whether the Knicks are talking to Reggie Williams now. Probably not since now that I think about it that would be a really good signing. Maybe worth it even at the expense of Shawne. Solid TS% and WP48 and earned his shot playing SSOL at VMI. Seems like legit upside.

Seems like legit upside. So much for that. Obviously. Bargains for the biannual are getting worse, not better. Might as well just sign Shawne now before we screw this up any further. Davis is going to be out two months and if anybody offers him more than the minimum they can have him.

JohnnyHector
They currently have the one of the, if not the worst backup frontcourt in the league. There are really no other options out there for a stretch 3/4 and play a little bit of D. Word is they're moving onto Maurice Evans, though I'm not sure how that helps remedy their lack of depth in the frontcourt, unless they're irrationally high on Jorts or plan to sign Nachbar or some other tall guy that has shooting range but plays no D. Eff me.
JohnnyHector
I'd say give Reggie Evans a call, but doubt D'Antoni would let him off the bench.

JohnnyHector
He already signed elsewhere. When? Last I heard, Celtics were offering him the minimum. Regardless, what they really need is someone off the bench who can actually score. Give Josh Howard a look.

Aten
Murphy, Przybilla, Kenyon, Dampier, Evans. And those are the good options. Getting ugly.
JohnnyHector
Murphy, Przybilla, Kenyon, Dampier, Evans. And those are the good options. Getting ugly. I'd consider Murphy because he can board and hope that his horrific shooting last year was an aberration. I thought Pryzbilla was leaning toward retirement? Regardless, I think with the signing of J. Jordan, they're probably not looking to add another 4/5, unless he has the ability to stretch the floor. Since Walker is apparently in the doghouse, you're looking at them probably adding a wing that can score (ie. Redd, J. Howard) and someone who can handle the ball. If Baron falls through (assuming the injury was overstated by his agent to secure his release), I'd give Ishmael Smith a look, though his complete inability to shoot isn't going to earn him minutes in Antoni's rotation. Which means he's obviously going to the Lakers. Nets will resign Humphries eventually. Evans apparently thinks he can get full MLE off somebody. We're a knee away from abject calamity here.
