Meachem signs with the Chargers

Chargers signed WR Robert Meachem to a four-year, $25.9 million contract.

So much for Meachem not making it out of Buffalo. The deal includes $14 million guaranteed. It's a huge deal for someone who was something of an underachiever during his four seasons in New Orleans. Meachem drew heavy interest from the second the bell rang on free agency, however, and is still viewed as a potential No. 1 receiver in some circles. That's what he'll have to be in San Diego after the Bolts lost Vincent Jackson to the Bucs. That, of course, bodes well for his fantasy value even though he's leaving the NFL's most prolific passing offense in New Orleans. Meachem will be Philip Rivers' top target in 2012, and is a good bet to best his career-best line of 45/722/9 from 2009.

Geez Buffalo lets Robert and Mario leave
