Seattle Road Trip

Recommended Posts

Anyone planning on visiting Seattle to see the Jets play the Seahawks, please respond in this thread. Im looking at reserving some blocks of rooms at downtown hotels, including the one where the Jets are staying.

We are also putting together plans for a tailgate as close as possible to Century Link Field.

We will have tickets available as well (A limited number of discounted tickets will be available)

If you have kids, Century Link Field is a Family Friendly stadium. Most local fans are friendly. Just don't start shouting F-Bombs, because they can and do throw people out for that.

If you are making the trip, try to plan a couple days in town, as there are a lot of things to see and do.

Mt. Rainier

Pike Place Market (The Original Starbucks)

Tillicum Village (So worth going to)

Pubs and more pubs

Sci Fi and EMP museum

Pacific Science Center

Space Needle

Snoqualmie Casino

Skiing at Mt. Baker (very possible to have snow at that elevation)

The U district

The Fremont Troll

Seattle is a city with lots of things to do and there is always something going on.

Count me as a definite "maybe". Pikes Market and the jumbo prawns with roe hanging off their bellies (like most of the crew here) is all the sightseeing I need. Group seating? Or will we be scattered?

Im working on group seating, and so far like the numbers I am getting from the Seahawks.

Can we all stay at your house? :)

We live about 15 minutes from the city and plan on a room at the Grand Hyatt. (the hotel where the Jets will be staying)

We may be able to work a deal, we stay at the hotel and you stay at our house and take care of the Chihuahuas :)

I'll be in for two tickets.

I'm taking the rail from the airport to downtown so we won't have a car. Does the rail or bus go from downtown to the stadium?

Also the stripclubs in Seattle suck compared to S Florida.

Yes it does. Once you are downtown, you can take the tunnel from Westlake to the Stadiums and Pioneer Square.

One thing I haven't done yet, but is supposed to be cool is the Underground Tour.

Definit maybe on this oe as well -- My wife always wanted to go to Seattle -- Anyway is the Grand Hyatt close to the Stadium if not what is close -- I like convienence.

You are better off in the downtown area, and take the tunnel to the stadium, and tailgate.

I definitely want to check out Seattle. It's too far for me to drive the tailgatejoe circus to, so if i show up i will just fly out and watch someone else do all the work, lol.

Tailgating will be taken care of. If you have any tips or suggestions, that would be appreciated though.

I started designing a website with information about Hotels, the tailgate, things to see and do in Seattle Etc. If you want to be in a location with easy access to everything in Seattle, I recommend the Westin. Its across the street from the Monorail to Seattle Center and the Bus tunnels to the Stadium, tailgating etc. If you want to check out the South Lake Union area, just go across the street and ride the SLUT to Lk Union. The Waterfront and Pike Place Market are also very close by.
